As soon as Gundren mentions Rosene's name, Crane pulls her hood tighter around her face. Even though the meeting's over, it still wouldn't be the best time to get herself seen and kicked out.
Once Rosene leaves them, Crane cradles her Ale in two hands and smiles around at the rest of the party, "So I guess that means we're companions now, hey? The name's Crane."
Silent and leaning against the wall, Callista's yellow eyes catalogued everything. The dwarf with rocks for brains who assembled this motley crew, and ...their little band. Ten gold was hardly a princely sum, but it would be enough for her to travel in-land. Caution urged her to turn on her heel and away, but caution wasn't the one paying her. Tamping down on the urge to vacate Rockseeker's vicinity, she stayed and listened to questions being bantered about.
The tiefling was never satisfied, but life was about taking chances. A new chapter, a new start. Not beholden to any one. "We're certainly not friends, Bird." she remarked sardonically. Taking a long and hearty swig of her ale, she gave a clipped introduction. "Callista."
"Alrighty then, List-- Callie? Callister?"Crane teases back, her's lacking the derision of Callista's remark, "But last I checked we don't need to be friends, to be companions! We're going to be stuck together for at least ten days, so if you need more ale to keep you sociable, perhaps they'll letcha take a to-go cup." Crane offers a wink, not feeling fear despite what she's heard about this Tiefling.
It was more after the job she'd worry about Callista 'roasting her' with a look in order to take her share of the profits. And her hope was that by then, she'd have charmed her enough not to worry about it.
"Thank you for the hospitality Rosene"Wracoria says with a smile, accepting the tankard offered to her.
"Nice to meet youCrane"she replies when Crane introduces herself. "I apologize if I was out of place with my comment earlier, I simply wanted to give my thoughts on the matter."Wracoria pauses for a moment to gather her thoughts before continuing "I'm Wracoria, of the Yurthid clan. My clan is very isolated so the ways of the outside world are still very new to me"
Wracoria frowned when she heard Callista's jab at Crane. "It is true we don't have to be friends Callista, but it surely can't hurt."

Ooh, a well-aimed hit! Perhaps, the Bird's mouth was as quick as her fingers. Maybe, the two weeks would be thoroughly entertaining. "If they do, then buy me a cup,"she drawled on before raising her tankard to acknowledge the dragon-born's introduction with some interest. Altruistic adventurers were a silver a dozen in Waterdeep. "It would. Hurt me, I mean." Friends could be cruel, deceptive little things.
A quick dart of her upper lip cleared away the ale. "So why leave this isolated clan of yours?" If she wanted to be friends, well, turn about was fair play.
"I believe what you were going for was 'Ca-lisp-a.' Must be hard to speak with a forked tongue, demon," Trick remarks snidely, inching away from the tiefling. He reaches forward to take the mug of ale set before him and allows the cloak to briefly fall from his face as he downs the drink at once. A pale, somewhat gaunt face of a teenage halfling, dirt smeared across one cheek, two black rings going through his lower lip. Just as quickly as it fell away, he wraps up in the dark cloak once more and returns to his curled up position. "But maybe you're right. This ale might make some of you a little more tolerable."
"Ah, there you are, Stepstool." She pushed her tankard of ale--half-empty--towards Trick. "I've never meet a grumpier sort, who needed more ale than I do."
She snapped her fingers at Crane."Buy him the to go cup instead."
Wracoria hesitated, she had heard of how treacherous Callista could be. But still, there was little harm in answering such an innocuous question. She put the tankard down, having drank more of it than she should have in the time they had been sitting there. She ignored the teasing jabs the others continued to make at each other as she replied "Well, I wanted to see the world. Nobodies left to do so in hundreds of years, at least."The smile returned to her face alongside a look of wonder and imagination. "The wonders they wrote of, well, I just had to see it for myself!"

"Wonders indeed," Crane smiles at Wracoria, knowing that she's likely the best one to get cozy with -- at least if Crane wanted her back watched after, "Want to see a very splendid wonder, Wracoria?"
"Be careful where you step..." Trick replies, the point of a dagger poking out from within the cloak. "The name's Trick." He casts a suspicious look towards Callista, but accepts the ale all the same, drinking it in a single gulp as with the previous drink.
"What sort of thing do you have in mind Crane?" Wracoria replies. Crane seems like the most honest one in the group, but that doesn't mean there are no tricks up her sleeve.

Bitten by the wanderlust bug, Callista knew it well, being cut from the same cloth. "You'll see more of it outside this tavern. More trees to shake your sword at too."
The tiefling snorted, her fingers drumming on the table on hearing Crane's remark. "I'm no elf moonling prancing about forest. I can do charm."Truly, she was a better liar than she was a charmer. She turned her head to the side, hiding a tiny smile. "Careful, you don't lose your purse to her, Scales."
"Shoosh now, Callie!" Crane chided cheerfully, before she looked around to see if Rosene had her eye on them. Deciding it was clear enough, Crane pulls a square of patterned paper from her cloak, unfolding it into a larger square and setting it on the table. "Just a normal bit of paper, yes?" She then folds it with impressive speed - well under six seconds - into a crane, "Still paper-- Just prettier, but watch--"
Crane then holds the paper crane in her open palm, out to Wracoria, and moves her fingers in a wave behind it, "Even something as unassuming as a piece of paper..."She hums a small melody, and the combination of the movement and sound bring a small burst of wind that catches under the crane's wings, fluttering it over to Wracoria.
The tiefling didn't know what came over, but much later, she could recognize it as an in-born urge to compete in all things magical. "Let me know if you want something more entertaining," she drawled. "I can set the Halfling on fire, you know," she jested, and winked towards Scales.
Clarion rolled his eyes and smiled. He was enjoying the give and take after the tension of being around dwarfs and dwarf friends. The ale was helping as well. Good naturedly he drawled in his forest accent, "You guys talk to much." Then he downed his last sip and sat back. Interesting group but the halfling made him wonder what he had gotten into, what a dirty little wretch. The others were the kind he had dealt with all his life. "My name is Clarion but my friends, the ones that I keep contact with that is, call me 'Tumble' because I seem to blow with the wind." He looked around to see who was listening, always on his guard. "You can call me whatever you want as long as I get my gold at the end of the job."
Wracoria allows the paper crane to land on an outstretched claw. "I am familiar with the arcane arts, even if I am not ... skilled in them myself" She says, looking wistfully at the delicate paper creature "Though, I must say, I have never seen them used in such an artful way"
As Clarion introduces himself, Wracoria turns her attention to the ranger. "It is nice to meet you Tumble" she says in reply "I couldn't help but notice your discomfort with our employer earlier. Not that it's any of my business, but is there some kind of trouble between you?" She inquires, a tone of worry betraying her otherwise calm demeanor.

Clarion glances quickly at Wracoria and can't help but glare a little before composing himself. "Nothing personal, my family has had dealings with dwarves in the past that we don't need to go into here. It is not the fault of Grunden and Sildar, just dwarves in general that make me uncomfortable. Don't worry, I wont let if affect our duties. As long as they treat us fairly you can count on me." Clarion wasn't expecting to be so transparent. He determined to control his temper better in the future and tried to relax again. Why was he nervous? This should be an open and shut job. Deliver the goods and take the money ... yeah nothing to worry about.
