"And how may we be of assistance in helping you reaching your goal? Perhaps it is destiny that our paths have crossed!" Lady Kaede thinks back, in response to Dit-Tid.
Judal allows the others to do the talking and interacting, he is busy ensuring his mind isn't de-cheese-ified and otherwise spending his time taking in the creatures and scene in front of him. They're kind of alien to him so it would surely be hard to tell if anything is "off" but he uses his Blindsight and Eldritch Sight to try to make sure there are no surprises.

Keeping her mind silent, A useful trick in this particular situation thanks to her decades of meditation. Malenia's elven eyes move between Rum, Kaede and the one known at Dit-tid. Still clutching the reins of the Kocra that was gifted to her, That she herself had gifted to another. Her mind begins to wander absently....
Her initial clash with Vader, the power behind each swing. How easily he shrugged off each of her Attempts to use the Force. Then there was what she though was his Presence within the force, a Lingering Will in which she had another confrontation that went much the same as their initial battle. Vader was undeniably a Paragon of Strength, Physical and With the Force, that much was clear. If she stayed on this path, with these Individuals. She would cross blades with him once more, and if she ever hoped to stand a chance against him....
"The Force is Balance, and I am the Force." Repeating her Mantra to herself, realizing that she had let her thoughts run away from her. The vivid images and thoughts within her mind comes to a halt, replaced by a blank slate. Turning to check on the Princess, who was still atop Kazu.
"Kaede, Do not be so quick to offer our assistance before the strife is known. You may be pulled into something that you might find Distasteful." Speaking directly into the mind of Kaede, using her own Telepathic ability.

Malenia - [Monk - Way of the Jedi] - Auryn: Princess of Destiny
Rum looks at Lady Kaede as she seemingly offers their assistance. The Thri-Kreen obviously knew the desert far better than they did, so there may be some bargaining to be done if it turns out they need a guide or supplies, but it had to be in their interests. Unfortunately there was no time to be altruistic. He hoped that was the cause of Lady Kaede's enquiry as well.
He stays silent awaiting the explanation from Dit-Tid.
Greko, with his exceptional hearing, notices Judal's belly grumble. He stops messing around with the kids and rummages through his bags pulling out a piece of fried dough that looks like in the middle has some cheese....he offers it to Judal.
I like cheese... Thia had now started to wonder how long it's been since she last ate. She had been listening, but also welcomed being distracted by food. She was okay with not thinking about all the loss she had been feeling. Thia was also ready to take a step towards a path forward, and maybe this was an opportunity presenting itself. The Thri-Kreen, not the thought of cheese, necessarily.
"Been holding out on us, have you?" Judal asks teasingly of Greko as he gives the proffered food a tentative sniff. "What is it?"
What it is doesn't apparently matter much as Judal is already taking a small experimental bite of one corner before the question can even be answered. "Mmmm," he tentatively says as he really allows his taste buds a moment to consider.
"You should try these!" Judal enthusiastically suggests to Thia as he sees her attention on them. "Do you have more?" he asks of Greko.

To go beyond the Sphinx Gate and into the Southern Oracle. Dit-Tid says with a hint of stoic sadness in her voice as she answers Rum. Her attention is then turned to Lady Kaede. There is nothing anyone can do to help us. We are simply not worthy.
This isn't a moment of pity. It's stated as a fact, the same way one may state that the sky is up or that the sun rose that morning.
The little Thri-Kreen make quite a game with Greko, some pulling at his white clothing while others try to whiz around him, using their powerful legs to hop from place to place in an attempt to keep the old lizard from being able to spot them. All of this spots when the cheese danishes appear. The kids pause, insectile eyes focusing hard on these savory morsels. There are many kids...each with four arms...and all of those many, many arms were suddenly held up as they reached for goodies...
Greko goes into his bag of holding baked goods and starts handing out cheese danishes "Judal these delcetibly delightful little cakes are called Cheese Danishes. Greko made them when the journey started with leftover cheese, cream, and fried dough.....Here Judal have another with the children"
"Wait, what?" Judal says, aghast that Rum would so readily agree that this entire species was just not worthy. "What makes you say you are unworthy? What makes one worthy or not? Why do you wish to go beyond the Sphinx Gate anyway?"
And upon noticing how excited the kids were he smiles and is glad to see Greko pass out more. But... "Umm, how long ago were they made? And just how long does cream and cheese stay unspoilt? Are you trying to poison me?? Is this still about the sword???"
Judal is just full of questions today... And just what did happen to the Sword of Cheesiestness??

"Made....hmmm....the other day....but these little guys keep well in my bag. No need to worry. Greko's bag is specially made for pastries. Greko has lived a long time eating from this bag....Judal will be fine" Greko gives a little wink as he stuffs one in his mouth
Lady Kaede's face flushed with a mixture of indignation and disappointment. She straightened her posture, her nobleborne samurai training evident as her body instinctively went stiff. Her voice, usually calm and collected, took on a sharper edge, "Rum! Surely you cannot be so callous? These creatures are clearly in dire need. We cannot simply turn a blind eye to their suffering!" Her gaze flickered back to the Thri-Kreen, a flicker of concern and determination hardening her resolve. "Have you forgotten the purpose of your journey here, Rum-san? You swore to the Childlike Empress to stand against the onslaught of darkness and evil, and to show the world that you were the one that could save it? What better demonstration of that oath then to help those in need, clearly demonstrated by these Thri-Kreen!" she continues, with a friendly but stern pleading voice.
Rum turns back to look at Lady Kaede, glancing once more at Dit-Tid and the other Thri-Kreen.
”I feel for the Thri-Kreen but what are we meant to do, Lady Kaede? Abandon our true purpose to help them? If the Oracle deems them unworthy, who are we to disagree? We do not know these folk and have not the time to learn. I did want to be seen as the one who could save the world, and yet we are losing the war against the darkness ”, he says motioning at the sky around them and the lack of sunlight in the desert.
”We have to stop fighting the little battles and concentrate on the big one. The world needs saving and we can’t do that one village at a time. We are here for one reason, and every time we get distracted from our goal we give our enemy time to act and they remain two steps ahead of us”, he adds.
“I intend to get what we came for. Only by doing that can we truly help the Thri-Kreen and everyone else. The world needs heroes who make the right choices, especially when they are the hard choices”, he says finally, and turns away again and heads up the ramp to find Engewook.
"And what if the Oracle finds them unworthy because they did not help their neighbors?" Judal asks. "Are you so eager to do the right thing that you cannot even pause to listen to them to possibly tell you what the right thing is?"

We came here with the wrong motivations in our hearts. She explains. The Sphinx Gate will not allow those with impure motivations to pass through without utterly destroying them, body and soul. But that is not my knowledge to tell. You must see Engewook. As for why we wanted to go...we were looking for power...the power to destroy the invaders of our realm, of the Wastes.
She looks up, witnesses the small disagreement that takes place, and then watches as Rum heads toward the Observatory up the hill, disappearing inside...
"And how may we be of assistance in helping you reaching your goal? Perhaps it is destiny that our paths have crossed!" Lady Kaede thinks back, in response to Dit-Tid.
Last to know and first to be blamed...
As a free action, can I regret my life choices?

Violet is back to being at a loss with no idea what to do. So she'll just follow everyone else's lead for now.
Rum strokes the fur on his chin as Dit-Tid explains their situation, "A shame, but you are right, that is not something we can help you with".
He looks to the others, "We should carry on to Engewook".
With that he once again bows his head to the spokesperson of the Thri-Kreen and starts to walk up the ramp Dit-Tid had pointing them towards.
