Not wanting to refuse the barkeeper's generous offer of a free room , Álfarr will head to the larger one with a mumbled thanks. He makes sure to take a bed that is far out of the way of the others, preferably closest to the door just in case something happens. He sleeps peacefully, and will wait for anyone else in the room to wake up before he leaves to head downstairs.
Making his way down stairs, Terrax makes his way to bar for some breakfast and coffee, he nods at the others in the room as he crosses over to the window to stair outside. After a few minute he makes his back to the bar ans places the key down.
Kosef stumbles down the stairs, hair mussed and eyes a little glassy. Just as he was one of the last to retire the night before, he was one of the last to make his way down to the common room for breakfast and coffee. He was dressed for travel, in dark leathers under his grey cloak, and with his pack slung across his back.
He looks around the room, searching for his new companions “Well, are we all ready to depart? What happened to first light? I hope the cursed fog has lifted”
Harald wakes up with a snort and mumble upon hearing people move around in the main tavern room. "Wha hugh wha? Oh dear. I appear to have dozen off again in the chair." To Esther, "I'm terribly sorry if I bothered you last night. I suppose the journey here was a bit more tiresome than I had previously thought. Well I need to go freshen up before our adventure. I do not believe we will be getting many chances at proper hygiene along the road on our vampire hunt." With a smile, Harald heads upstairs to find one of the provided rooms and begins to clean himself up before heading back down for breakfast.
Esther opens one eye when she hears Harald speaking to her. She says "Not at all, Professor. I hope you rested well."
Esther's morning ablutions are brief. Having spent the night and most of the previous day indoors, she is already far cleaner than she usually finds herself in the morning. After only a few minutes disappearance from the taproom, she reappears again, buckling her saber to her belt, her pack and shield slung over her shoulders."Good morning gentlemen. Shall we be on our way? Miss Kolyana is likely eager to be rid of her pest and frankly, the air in this inn is growing oppressive."
"I suppose we should be on our way" He answered Esther "I am sorry about your ale shipment, I do hope arrives soon. If we find it on our travels we will do what we can to help" Terrax starts checking over his gear and making sure everything is ready to set on another long journey.
As the cook brought food out just in case the group wanted a little something before heading out he hummed softly and nodded slightly when he heard the others talking. "When I left my house this morning there didn't seem to be any fog... in town that is." After he was done bringing out the food he took a seat at the table where the gambling men had been sitting the previous evening. "... So you guys are going off to hunt a vampire? That sounds like it could be quite dangerous. I wish you all good luck."
The bartender shrugged slightly as he leaned against the counter. "Don't worry about it, it'll probably turn up eventually."
"Oh my, doesn't that smell lovely?" Esther says, passing her plate over to Terrax. "But I mustn't. A full stomach is dreadful for a day of hard walking, as they say."
She smiles diplomatically at the cook and asks "But since you're here, sir, might you tell us a rumor or two about this Barovia? I've never had the pleasure of visiting myself, but the staff of such a fine, well-trafficked crossroads establishment must hear all sorts of stories. What sort of place is it to which we've been called? And what sort of person is this Master Kolyan Indirovich?"
Esther didn't know much about Barovia. She didn't know much about ANY place really. Any formal education she may or may not once have had was lost to her now, along with all the rest of her memories from before the bog, save a few rather unpleasant snapshots from which she could gather little practical insight. She tried her best to make up for her more glaring deficits with the strategic application of well-worded questions, and well-timed silence, or by simply avoiding altogether people who might expect too much of her. So far her vast ignorance hadn't gotten her into too much trouble, but now that she was to be traveling with half a dozen strangers, she knew it wouldn't be long before one of these mercenary types asked her about her perspective on the famous feud of Baron Whoeversberg and Sir SuchandSuch of WhoCaresShire and she would be revealed for the simpleton she truly was. That Professor especially worried her. She dreaded the thought of an academic like him attempting to engage with her in enlightened conversation. But hopefully he would prove to be the type who could get so caught up in his own rambling that no one else could get a word in edgewise, and she would be safe from the risk of a bird-brained reply.
But she could only be so coy on the subject of her new mission. She had no intention of going blindly into a strange land to fight creatures out of folklore. She needed information.
With a freshly oiled mustache and rather unimpressive shave job, Harald joins his new appointed adventuring party. "I don't suppose anyone of you will know if we will get another hot meal like this again anytime soon? Well I'm not one to let an opportunity go to waste." And he proceeds to eat a rather impressive, or possibly disturbing, amount of food.
The cook turns in his seat and looks curiously at Esther for a moment. "Some rumors about Barovia? ... Well apparently the one that rules over the land is a vampire. I don't really know much about the place but I have heard that it is a valley nestled in the Balinok Mountains." As he speaks he scratches the back of his neck slightly."I wish I knew more but not many people seem to come back from there... although it could just be because they'd rather not return to a town that nothing interesting usually happens in."
Esther listens, and is about to ask more questions when Wisp suddenly stands and heads off. Startled, she forgets what she was going to ask and gets to her feet as well. She looks around at the others and shrugs, then slings her things over her back.
She turns back to the cook and says “Thank you so much for illuminating us, sir. Good day!”She leaves 5 silver coins as a tip on the table for the breakfast she didn’t eat and hustles out into the daylight after Wisp.
Harald hurries out the door. "Oh were leaving are we? Best not be left behind, I do not know my way around these parts." He then starts fumbling through his posessions and mutters to himself, "Uhh let us see..bag...notebook...pipe....I should have everything."
Kosef pats Harald on his back in a friendly manner as he checks his equipment “Don’t worry, professor, we will not leave you behind.” He follows the others out of the inn, a jump in his step and a cocky grin on his face, ready for the journey ahead.
He frowns a bit at Lenn’s question. “If not him, then one of his minions, certainly. A vampire with the resources and power of a lord of the land will be a challenging foe."
Esther remarks "I can't imagine Master Indirovich would send seven people against his own liege lord. A venture like that would require an army! Anyway, you know how stories grow in the telling. This Lord of Barovia probably just bleeds his people in high taxes and so they've started to calling him vampire as a bit of dark humor."
"Think about it. Why would a man with the resources and power of a lord, as you say Kosef, be sneaking into homes in the night? If he wanted Miss Kolyana for his thrall so badly, he could just send a regiment to claim her and that would be that. There would be no need for subterfuge."

Lenn comes down with all his gear on already and just nods to the others.
He walks towards the table nearest to the exit and wait for the others to get ready to leave.

And he proceeds to eat a rather impressive, or possibly disturbing, amount of food.
Wisp requests fresh rations from the cook to supplement the dried rations he has and hunting he will do along the way.
He heads back into the common room, has a light breakfast and listens in on the conversations going on around him.
He is eager now to get on the road.
The cook turns in his seat and looks curiously at Esther for a moment. "Some rumors about Barovia? ... Well apparently the one that rules over the land is a vampire. “The days wasting”, Wisp says standing up and gathering his things.
He makes his way to the door and exits, waiting for the others outside whilst looking into the distance to the west and Svalich Woods.
Esther listens, and is about to ask more questions when Wisp suddenly stands and heads off. Startled, she forgets what she was going to ask and gets to her feet as well. She looks around at the others and shrugs, then slings her things over her back.

Lenn thanks with a silent nod to the bartender and walks out after the others.
He puts his greatsword on his back and keeps his distance for the party. He covers his head with the hood of the cloak. His mood is somber.
"Do you think that the lord of that land is the responsible of the attack?" he asks the others as they gather outside.

“I know not of the ways of these lords, but evil comes in many forms”, Wisp adds simply to the conversation.
His eyes scan the group from under his hood and when he realises they are still missing people he goes back to staring west.
Alfarr is standing around silently, waiting to get going.
(ooc Sorry, I've been drowning in homework, all the big assignments are coming up 😓)
