Basal grabs his mask and adjusts it so it wouldn’t be seen by others. This scar was something he hid so he wouldn’t look too intimidating to others. The Dragonborn next to him talked quietly, so, instead of answering. Basal just takes his finger and then points downward at the floor. It didn’t seem like he was talking about the floor but what lies beneath the floor, deep down underground. In the Dark Tunnels.
“I…cannot say…yet”
Basal seemed to want to not talk about his scar, it seemed like mentioning it made Basal a bit scared and angry, mixture of both
Maverick looks at Eskee and holds up his ale as to toast. “It’s been a while my friend, good to see you still breathing and in good health. I just met those 2, not sure what to think the one over there the one who calls himself Asshrak seems to be about fame and glory. Other than that, this seems like it’s gonna be a good time. “
Maverick gets up and walks over to Basal and Asshrak, puts an arm around each o them. “we’ll friends, no point in killing time when we could be killing goblins. I’ll be outside. “
Maverick goes and walks out of the inn and waits for the rest of them
Outside of the inn, sitting about one foot from the entrance in the lotus position, was a man with torn clothing covered with blood that has been dried. the color of the dried blood was only a shade darker of that of his tattered cloths. it has seem that this man has escape a horrid encounter is still haunted by his experience. outside of the cloths, his appearance of his face is somewhat rugged with a body of great physic.
Quickly noticing Maverick walking outside of the inn, this strange man approaches with caution, quickly using a piece of his tattered outfit to hide half of his face.
"Wu's name be praised friend." he said confidently to Maverick, bowing forward as his right fist is covered by his left hand, meeting in the middle of chest.
“Apologies, but i couldn't help but overhear the conversation that you had with the barkeep and the others in the party that you formed about going to a village past the Hilly Wood. i seek atonement for actions of my past by any means that i can. it would be an honor to join you, if you’ll have me.”
Unsure of exactly what to make of this new individual as he approaches Maverick, Maverick uses his cantrip Thaumaturgy to cause the Inn door to fly open causing a loud bang so the rest of the party can see this stranger in the bloody clothing approaching him and Maverick says
” join our party? I’m not even sure I am in the party. But if I were, adding a new member to it would not be my decision alone. “
and Maverick begins to walk away to sit on a bench against the outside wall of the Inn.
Basal seems a little uneasy being touched by a stranger, but does nothing to stop it from occurring. The Dark Elf, nods to the Tiefling as he speaks about killing Goblins
"I understand....Maverick....we will kill Goblins"
He stood up, and left his unfinished drink on the table. Since he didn't pay for it, nor did he have a desire to drink alcohol in the first place. He followed behind Maverick, almost shadowing him as he did so. Basal's higher perception noticed Wu before he approached, his ears have an unnatural sensitivity to them, it makes up for his lack of eyesight. Once stepping outside, his eyes went squinting, making it appear as if his eyes were closed.
Basal looked at Wu up and down, he narrowed his jaw at the prospect he was eavesdropping outside of this building. But Basal couldn't over look that he may have escaped a horrid encounter, and had a physic similar to his own.
"Hm...you are...strange..."
Basal seemed to want to say more, but it was like he couldn't put it into words
Asshrak eyed the unfinished drink greedily. Glancing back, he watches as Basal leaves the building, close behind maverick. Well, if he doesn’t want it, it would be disgraceful to leave a perfectly good drink just lying around… He quickly drinks the ale down. Feeling a little out of it, due to the amount of alcohol he has drunk, Asshrak jumps when the door slams open behind him.
” join our party? I’m not even sure I am in the party. But if I were, adding a new member to it would not be my decision alone. “ He hears maverick say, before watching him sit on a bench near the outside wall of the inn, leaving basal looking over the bloodied man.
“We’ll I can’t speak for the rest of the crew!” Asshrak shouts jovially, “but I sure know that I would love to give you an opportunity for atonement! I can’t say there aren’t a few things I could seek atonement for either,” he says ominously. He leaps nimbly from the chair, despite being drunk. “Goblin hunting it is mates!” He marches out of the inn away from more alcohol, and looks down at maverick sitting. “May I take a seat, friend?”
Maverick simply slides over and then looks up and makes eye contact with Asshrak and then looks and nods down at the now empty space on the bench. And simply says
as Maverick opens the door with a loud bang, the Stranger stands in awe of the action, and in anxiety of the attention instantly gained by the action.
being sheltered in the monetary his whole life, the stranger is not use to seeing all types of races in one setting. Its an absolute culture shock to see diverse races in a civilized setting.
"Oh no..." The Stranger says to himself, "it took me all the courage just to talk to Maverick, now everyone in the inn looks like they want to hurt me....". He being to sweat nervously.
As maverick takes a seat on the bench outside, Basal approach's him while narrowing his jaw. the Stranger begins to suspect that eavesdropping into a conversation might have had the opposite effects of what he has intended. As Basal is inspecting his body, the anxiety increases ever more. Basal then speaks ""Hm...you are...strange...".
After Basal have said "strange", The Stranger chuckled, having thinking the same of Basal.
The anxiety starts to settle as Asshrak shots jovially approaches them. “Goblin hunting it is mates!” Asshrak goes towards Maverick, "“May I take a seat, friend?”
"Apologies friends, perhaps i went about this the wrong way.", The stranger says as his confidence is starting to go back to him. He looks at Basal, "Especially to you, quiet one. i have earn the mistrust you have towards me with my actions. Maybe taking this off may be the start of earning your trust." The stranger begins slow taking the tattered cloth around his face off while staring at Basal, who was also was covering his face, which made him chuckle.
The cloth is removed from his face, showing a grin showing teeth similar to a wolf but noticeable large Canine teeth. Monstrous in appearance but a small hint of innonces in his dark brown eyes.
Asshrak appears shocked at stun’s large, canine teeth. Then he brakes into a grin wide enough to show his also large, dragon like fangs.
“Nice to know some people still have respect for large teeth! Tell me, what brings you here to this town. Treasure? Fame? Mystery? Or some other event. I myself came seeking the ring of lords. It’s said to be pride of treasure hunters and seekers hoard. It was lost 100 years ago, due to a beholders raid of the previous owners lair. Rumors appeared around this area, and I came to investigate. I ask again, what brings you here, stun of the large teeth?”
He sits patiently, awaiting a response he hopes to get.
Basal stares at him, unmoving, and not really reacting much to his mannerisms. His eyebrows fly up to the chuckle, it was hard to say much about this Dark Elf. He was still, unmoving, and the only indication that he was listening was his ears moving every so often. Basal seems to open his eyes a bit more to the blinding rays of the light when he mentioned he would earn his trust. Once he removed his cloak around his face and saw his fangs. Basal's eyes gleamed at the fangs for a while as he tilted his head. In thought, in curiosity but he somewhat understood.
Basal wasn't in any mood to push his own mask down, but this isn't because he is hiding anything. It seems he just feels a bit self-concious of the massive scar on his face, but Basal did have an indication that he was impressed at Stun for revealing such a stunning feature. Basal observes how he bows with one fist covered in the other, and taking both hands he attempts to copy him. One of his fists cover the other, and he bows forward with a utterance of his name
"....Basal..."
Basal backed away and stood behind Asshrak, seeming more comfortable if the Dragonborn did the talking. He looked to Asshrak in confusion when he mentioned the Ring of Lords and rubbed his own finger, now knowing his reason for being a traveler. Basal was curious as if this was why he was seeking out a party, for assistance in this ring. But Basal was all too familiar with what Beholders were, and nodded to his mentioning of it. He was about to ask a question to Asshrak, but stopped himself when he asked Stun a question and simply remained silent behind the strong vocal Dragonborn
Eskee joins the group outside, listens to the conversation, and observes the comparing of fangs.
“Greetingsss SSStun. Might I sssuggest that if the plan is to head to that village to the sssouthwesssst and take care of their goblin problem we sssstart on our journey? The barkeep sssaid it wasss an eight day journey. I’m sure that will give usss plenty of time to get to know each other.”
“Ah, that sounds a good plan. Don’t think this gets you all out of telling me your history! I want to record it all for my book of memories, so that I may read of my adventures, and who I adventures with whence I am older. My friends, let us kill some goblins!”
As he finishes saying this, Asshrak raises his fists into the air, and throws his head back while smiling triumphantly.
”But first, I should probably go pay the barkeep for all the ale I bought, aye?” He says, bringing his head back forward, and his fists down.
He turns and heads back into the inn, and he can be heard yelling, “my friend barkeep! How much do I owe you for the fine ale I have bought today?”
Ajheard13, It’s already started, but we’re just outside the bar we all met at and about to head towards our first adventure. I would think it wouldn’t be too hard to have your character meet us outside the bar.
It’s my first time to so I don’t know how helpful I can be, but I’ll try.

"Five silver for the ale, my friend," the barkeep answers Asshrak. He then gestures toward Roshagu, a timid-looking half-orc barbarian in the corner. "And, if you are going to hunt goblins, could you take that guy with you. He looks like he could use some adventure."
Okay. If you are ready to begin your trek through the Hilly Woods, make sure you have your character sheets updated with your starting equipment and gold. You should make certain you have everything you might need for an eight day journey and that your weapons and armor are active. If anyone wants a mount, needs to summon a familiar, perform a ritual, or anything else, we need to do that before leaving the city. We will be making rolls using the dice roller here, like so: 19
And for combat, like so: Attack: 10 Damage: 7

new to the online play. may have questions. when does it start
Roshagu, is my name. I am a Half-Orc Barbarian.
