Hildigrim shakes himself out of a stupor and takes a deep breath. He looks at Barrel and nods. "I agree. The revelation that our employer is not who he claimed to be ... is troubling to be sure. It would calm my heart to know, or at least have some assurance, that he has not already sealed our futures in the awful place. I have rope we can use in case the enchantment has ended."
"I don't think it is stupid," Flow says, doing his best not to reveal any surprise that Sven is undead.
"There are many forces at work in these realms. Likely some are guiding you."
"No. No, you're right", Sven says with a long sigh, "It's Prince Rolan, not me." He takes a swig of ale from his mug and Flow sees a little of the liquid roll out of the exposed holes in his ribcage. "Thanks for saying you don't think I'm stupid."
Sven resigns to looking at the bottom of his flagon for a moment longer. Then he says, "I don't think it's a good idea to bring you to work with me." Sven looks toward the front door and says, "Rolan might not like that... He will probably want me to work in a few hours. Most days it comes to me around twelve bells... That means I have some more time to drink."
Flow smiles.
"I'm sorry, but we really do need to get to the boneyard. We could talk to Prince Rolan for you. Is there anything we could do for you guiding us there?"
Barrel looks over at Flow talking to Sven for a bit. I hope he has some luck in getting Sven to guide us. Barrel thinks.
"Hey Hildi," Barrel says as he walks over to the little halfling and Carrow. "I have a bad feeling about this since we found out about this Doppelganger. I think one of us should try and go back through the well to make sure the portal is still open. They could just jump right back in when they get to the other side. It should only take a few minutes and won't waste much time from our mission"
"If we even bother to do the mission" Barrel mumbles to himself.
"I'd be willing to do it if no one wants to. We are wasting precious time here. If Flow can't get Sven to show us the way to the graveyard than we need to head out soon. But under the circumstances, I don't think we should even waste our time doing the mission. I say we all head back through the well and to the hell with it. Find the Jerub imposter and kick his ass. What say you?"Barrel looks at Hildi and Carrow hoping they agree with him.
"Yes, I was thinking much the same. It is worth investigating the well at a minimum, one untruth often follows another." Carrow sighs, "I have a feeling though, that the portal may not reopen until we have retrieved the prize we were sent to obtain. A conundrum indeed."
"Jeeze, no wonder you don't like going outside!" Bran slams the door shut. "What's the deal with that tower way off yonder in the south? The one with all the buzzards and such flying around it?"
Hildigrim walks over to Barclay and nods to him courteously. "Good sir Barclay, in light of the revelation that the individual who hired us is not Jerub, as we had been led to believe, we would like to inspect the well, which was to be our means of returning home within the next three days. We would appreciate if we could gain entry to the cellar stairs. Also, while we are below, we can once again pursue the third shade with intent to permanently exterminate the fowl creature for you. What say you?"

Jerub turn's Bran as he enters and answers, "That's the Raven's Eyrie! A temple to the Raven Queen, hoisted on the backs of great kneeling statues... Bah! Grandiose and Unnecessary I say". Jerub sighs. "It is her city though, after all!"
Jerub says, "You mentioned a tomb of Kelemvor earlier, good sir Gnome?" Jerub grumbles to himself in thought then speaks again, "No such tombs exists in this city. The dead here are ALWAYS interred in the name of the Raven Queen. There is quite a large mausoleum in the cemetery though, and anywhere that old boneyard goes in the city, the undead are always close by". Jerub rests his chin on in hands thoughtfully and continues pondering.

Barclay turns to Hildi and give an incredulous laugh. The laugh turns to a scoff when Barclay realizes that Hildi is serious. "Yer joking right? You couldn't have mentioned it ten minutes ago?!"
Barclays storms away, grumbling to himself. Amongst his grumbles he says, "If yer going down, do it your damned-self. I've done my part." He walks behind the bar, pours himself a flagon, and then plops down at the bar next to Sven and Flow
"I don't know if talking to Rolan is a good idea. He doesn't take well to Primey's." Sven pauses in thought for a moment, and then continues, "He doesn't take well to anyone actually."
Sven sighs deeply once again, finishing off the last of his flagon. Suddenly a thought occurs to him and his scarred face turns to a hopeful smile. Sven says, "There is something that you could help me with. I understand if you don't want to though." Sven pulls a ragged old parchment, tri-folded like a letter, out from the inner-pocket of his fancy coat. "You could take this to Tristessa!" Sven's voice is now full of excitement. "She's at the city jail in the Fettered Ward! The dead aren't allowed inside, but I can show you the way there!"
Sven looks at Flow full of hope. "Please, if you do this, I will allow you to join my on my route to the cemetery. It won't take but twenty minutes!"
Hildigrim attempts to break through the new barricade with his battleaxe, two handed.
Attack: 22
Damage: 8
The planks over the door split right down the center and splinters go flying. Freeing up the passage to the cellar. Hildi can hear Barclay grumble audibly from behind his cup at the bar.
"We shall rid you of this shade while we are in the cellar. That should remove the need for the barricade." Carrow relights his torch starts to head down into the cellar.

"Sounds like a deal! If it is alright, let me see if my companions will come, as well."
Flow tells the rest of the party about the deal he has made.

Bran talks in a bit of a hushed tone, so Sven can't hear easily? "Who is this Tristessa person and why can't he take the note himself I wonder? It all seems a bit fishy, but seeing as we rather need him to find the graveyard, we don't have much choice do we?"
Hildi looks at his battleaxe with a look of awe, unbelief and pride, before lighting a torch and following Bran down the stairs.
[ooc] Bran hasn't followed down the stairs yet. He noticed you cave the door in, but hasn't committed to going back down in the cellar. Currently he's talking with Flow and taking things in.
Barrel listens to Flow's tale and sighs. "Hildi, Carrow and I were thinking of going back up the well to see if our route home is still there. We see no reason to continue on with this 'Quest'. We think we should go through the well, find the doppelganger and kick his ass. If for some reason we can't get through the well I'd be more than happy to help Sven with his problem."
"Barrel considering how long it's been since we opened the portal, the chances of it still being open are pretty slim, unfortunately. But we wont know until we've tried."
"Dead people aren't allowed in the jail where this 'Tristessa' is. I think she's Sven's friend. He wants me to give her a letter. I thought we still wanted to try to get the Putris Corruptis, even if just to keep it from the doppelganger?"

"I agree"

Did Barclay finish reboarding up the cellar door or can we squeeze through?
