"Hold on" Malekith unrolls another map, which shows only the Rivenis Kingdom "which area was it?" After you point it out again in this smaller scale map there's a deep inhale from Malekith "Well. That brings a new issue to light." He sighs before looking at you, Khessa. "That's Miz'el's territory." As he says this name both Malak and the half-drow who have been pretending to work while listening to the both of you perk up and begin actively listening. They both look concerned. "This is both good and bad news. Good news is, your people are most definitely still alive. Bad news is they may no longer be in the area."
"Good news is wonderful already for me!" smiles Khessa relieved "Alive... but no more in the area?" she reflects "Do you mean they might have been sold as slaves? Well... at least, if i can get the hands on the sellers, maybe I can find the buyers. Something you know about those Miz'el's? You reacted to the name... You had issues with that tribe in the past? Any chance to find an informer? Either someone secrectly devoted to Eilistraee, or someone simply dissatisfacted enough to be willing to sell informations for something in exchange... I might plan to ambush the drow who ordered the raid, but first I have to find out who he or she is. The raid was led by the Lolth cleric Xen'farya, as I told, but I do not know neither if she still lives nor if she had someone else behind her who had tasked her to lead the raid".
"Miz'el isn't a tribe, but a person. She's my younger sister, completely devoted to Lolth, and a Handmaiden. She single-handedly controls that region and all 13 cities within it. Nothing happens without her permission. You'll never get within a mile of her, but Xen'farya might be able to. If I remember correctly, Xen'farya was head priestess of her own city, but it got away from her and we were sent to destroy it. We killed every drow within it's walls with the exception of Xen'farya as punishment. If anyone has the desire and the ability to undermine my sister, it's the priestess who led the raid against your town. I would pray she survived that fall."
"Anyone but the absolute strongest would most definitely have been sold off to other cities." Malekith continues "I cannot travel with you unfortunately. It's been many decades since I've last seen my sister, but her dragons have always been capable of sensing me from miles away. I would only make things worse for you. With my and T'bitha's help however, I'm certain you could navigate the tunnels and maybe find a village."
Hadi, T'bitha, and Tristan, as the three of you walk, you come across a small ally and the three of you spot a small carving in a wooden door further in the ally. It's the elven symbol for peace, but more importantly, T'bitha, you know it to be the drow variation.
T’bitha instantly recognizes the symbol. “I was unaware that our culture had such a denomination here in the city. Though, I’m not surprised that it is hidden in an alley, away from the general populace. Would you two join me? I’m curious to know who runs this.”
She makes her way to the door and brings her fist up to knock… but she hesitates a minute before making two sharp knocks on the door. She steps back and waits patiently to see who responds.
She goes into the mage shop and admires all the unique magical items displayed. “What about you, Hadi? You seem to have a flair for courting every woman we’ve met back in Wakefield. Are you a romancer?”
"I simply find beauty in everything, from my clothing to those wearing it around town," he says with a bit of a twirl and glance to a passing woman. "My father and I have our disagreements on how I should spend my time, and his money of course...
As they continue to walk he then pauses as T’bitha finds the symbol by the door and simply gestures for her to go ahead, happy to follow along and explore.
T'bitha you step up to the door and knock. A few moments go by, and right as you're about to knock, you hear a feminine voice on the other side of the door say "were you followed?" in your native elven tongue.
"Okay, I could find a drow village," Khessa recapitulates, unsure if she understands well. "Then should I look for information on Xen'farya to eventually contact her? And to help her take revenge on your sister Miz'el? And demand the freeing of the slaves in return? Or information on where they were sent? Is that what you are advising me to do?"
"Anyway," adds the blonde arcane warrior "putting Xen'farya against Miz'el is certainly a great move, thank you for that; but just to have other possibilities, I ask you: do you know if drow have sworn enemies in the Underdark? Are there any creatures who particularly hate them? Because maybe I could try to create the conditions to unleash these creatures against them too, at the right time... Especially considering that any drow I have to ally with, sooner or later, will probably try to betray me. Having another threat ready to strike without their knowledge, could be helpful. I know, I could try to organize a slave revolt at the best moment - slaves will hate their slavers for sure, but I'd prefer to unleash a horde (or at least a band) of tougher monsters. Any idea about what monsters I could try to resort to?"
T'bitha you step up to the door and knock. A few moments go by, and right as you're about to knock, you hear a feminine voice on the other side of the door say "were you followed?" in your native elven tongue.
T’bitha double checks the street off the alleyway and responds, in her flawless language, ”No. It is myself and two trusted compatriots of mine; however, if they need to remain outside, we shall respect that.”
She looks to Hadi and Tristan and gives a silent nod of reassurance to them both. “Hadi, Tristan… I’ll be okay if she wants secrecy and to be alone. I can catch up with you at Ozemon’s estate. She’s probably nervous knowing that shadowhunters are about the city. Let’s see what she has to say first, though. I do not wish to be quick to presume what she wants.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
At the question of having been followed, Hadi sends Laza the owl up from his shoulder ((just assume he’s nearly always there)) to scout around, going into the owl’s vision to see if there is anyone seemingly observing them. ((Owl perception 20))
“We all have our burdens, Tristan. Our friends and those we can trust make carrying them a little easier. Please don’t be sorry.” She looks up at Tristan with her purple-hued eyes.
”Maybe you haven’t failed your duty, but rather you have yet to fulfill your duty? Is it possible that the reason you were in such a long spell is because someone knew you were needed for this moment, eons later?”
She looks to Hadi and Tristan together, “Shadowhunters. Well, that is the burden I carry. They are specialist drow who hunt to capture or kill those unfaithful to Lloth. I am such a target the High Priestess would love to bring in and hold an inquisition. That is why I hide within the walls of Ozemon’s estate. That is the reason for this change.” T’bitha motions to her outfit and runs a lilac-colored hand thru her short, bobbed white hair.
Tristan glances up at her "Perhaps, but it wasn't a spell, T'bitha. I was dead. Not asleep, not cursed, dead. I hadn't passed on, though, not fully. My soul was in some sort of suspension, until it was wrenched back into my body.
Tristan snarls, letting out a growl. His eyes flash with an ethereal light. After a second, his face returns to normal, and he looks vaguely surprised. Shaking his head to clear it, he looks T'bitha in the eye "Whoever is after you, they better stay away. Because I will kill anyone who tries to harm my friends."
T'bitha you step up to the door and knock. A few moments go by, and right as you're about to knock, you hear a feminine voice on the other side of the door say "were you followed?" in your native elven tongue.

“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
T’bitha looks at Tristan trying to comprehend what he just said. ”Wait… you were dead? And, now you are not? What a curious disposition to be in! You are obviously alive now…right? Can you feel things? I mean physically, like pain or being tickled?”
T’bitha reaches for Tristan’s hand, more out of morbid curiosity than anything else. She feels for indication of heat emanating from his skin. She runs the tip of her index finger down to his wrist where the radial pulse would be and gently presses. At the same time, she brings his hand to her cheek. “I-I don’t understand what sort of state you’re in. Can you feel the heat from my cheek?”
(OOC- Does Tristan have “living qualities” such as pulse or warm skin? Or is it clammy and cold?”
Tristan chuckles as T'bitha conducts her tests. As far as she can tell, Tristan is showing normal signs of life. "I am alive, T'bitha. But I am different. Before I died my skin had more colour, same with my hair." As she lifts his hand, his sleeve falls back, revealing the markings on his forearm. With his other hand, he gestures to them. "and those were definitely not there. When I was restored...I feel disjointed. As if my soul and my body don't...align any more. Sometimes my mind is overthrown and instinct rules me. As I said. If anyone comes after you, I will kill them. And there won't be a damn thing I can do about it."

T’bitha observes the markings on his forearm and cautiously pushes the sleeve further to fully look at the markings to see if they at all look familiar to her.
”Strange. I apologize for being so intrusive. For a moment I thought you might have been…restored through arcane or religious means and that you were just a living dead, so to speak. I find that you allow your instincts to overrule your mind. That does not seem elven-like. Almost…dare I say, possessed-like? Or is it more of difficulty controlling your emotions because you’ve been ‘out of body’ for so long? I do hope that Ozemon is able to help you find…” T’bitha pauses in thought, “Eternal rest? A return to live out the rest of your years without this affliction?”
T’bitha lowers Tristan’s hand and gently pulls his sleeve down over the markings. “I feel awfully safe right now with you and Hadi nearby. Speaking of… Hadi? Anything from Laza?”
Dimitri you look around in all your old locations, trying to get the lowdown on your last crew. After spending a good chunk of the day, you find three of them have been rounded up and imprisoned, and the other was killed by the guard attempting to escape the city. It was a five man crew, and it seems you're the only one alive and free. You didn't notice it until one of your contacts pointed it out, but on the bounty / information boards that are posted all over the city there are wanted posters. One poster for each of the people on your crew. All of which are amazingly detailed. It's been a few weeks now, and like all boards, these posters have been covered up with new posters, though you can tell within the last two days, someone has moved the wanted poster of you back to the top of board. They're most definitely still searching for you. You do run into two folks who have claimed to do work for Ozemon. One said he was offered 10 gold to pick three antique safes he purchased that didn't come with a key. The other was hired to attempt to break into the Ozemon Estate and successfully steal something of value, and point out any risks, so they could be fixed.
"She's a loyal priestess. She won't just let you contact her. You're going to need to ambush her somewhere, somehow and convince her it's in her best interest." He pauses "I just think, considering we took her city from her after reducing it to ashes, you'll have an easy time convincing her to work against my sister. Though, she will never be your ally, nor should you for a moment think of trusting her. She will betray you the moment she thinks it's in her best interest."
Malekith takes a moment to contemplate your question "I mean, certainly, but it will be dangerous for you. Everything in the Underdark is at odds with each other. Mind flayers are likely the largest threat. They're a nasty hive-mind, that would as easily feast on you as they would a drow, though for the right promise, they may help. The svirfneblin could make good allies, and are likely your best bet, though, they tend to make peace alliances with the drow, so they can live in peace and lastly, the rare drider that you find may help. They're monstrosities created from the drow who weren't loyal to Lolth, though the transformation made the mindlessly bloodthirsty. They may very well choose to feast on you for traveling in their territory." He stop for a moment "as you can see, there is a common theme here. Everything in the Underdark is just as happy to kill you as it is anything else. The creatures you encounter in the Underdark could make very powerful temporary allies against the drow, but they will never truly be an ally. They will turn against you, if they think it will benefit them."
Hadi you see a lot of people moving around while looking through Laza's eyes, but no one that seems to be looking in your direction long enough to say they're watching you. With so much currently going on, T'bitha, nothing is coming to your mind on what these markings on Tristan could be. And as you continue to study them and talk with him the door creaks open slowly, just far enough for you to step through. You hear "only you" in the same feminine voice, though you see no one, and nothing inside.
(OOC: It looks like there is a 23 gold bounty on you at the moment Dimitri. Laza is absolutely always around, Hadi. He is your familiar after all.)
"Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Malekith" Khessa places her hands on the drow's shoulders, staring her blue eyes into his. "You did not have to help me in any way, but you still gave me a lot of valuable information, which I will try to put to good use. I want you to know that from now on I consider you my friend and that if you need me I will also try to help you to the best of my ability. When you think I can be of help, you just ask, okay?"
After that, if Malekith allows it, she stays to help him load the bags, talking to him about this and that. Among other things, the blonde arcane warrior tries asking him about the plant that had looked at her in the carriage: what it is, how he managed to create it, what can it do (just to understand... can it do the same things as a pet does? Or maybe a familiar?).
When they are done, before Malekith leaves Khessa offers him a drink together as a farewell (if he likes the idea), kisses him on the cheeks and wishes him to be well and see each other again soon.
T’bitha turns her head to look at Tristan and then to Hadi one last time. She enters alone and closes the door gently behind her. She takes a quick look around her surroundings and for the voice who beckoned only her to come in.
"I know the troubles Lolth brings first hand." As you, Khessa, finish speaking he speaks up "you can do one thing for me. If you encounter my sister, run. Also, should you attempt to work with Xen'fraya, she mustn't know I am involved. She'll never work with you, if she knows you know me. You're welcomed to help if you'd like, but my boys here can more than handle it." As you ask about the plant in the carriage he speaks up again "That's Twig. He was a gift from a group of druids I helped many years ago. He's anawakened blueberry bush. He really doesn't do much, mostly hangs out in the yard, or anywhere he can find sun, like a cat. Though he's more intelligent than your average person, and is capable of communicating telepathically with me." After you offer a drink Malekith speaks up again "I don't drink, but perhaps the boys will join you, should you wish. Otherwise, stay safe, be extremely cautious if you travel into the Underdark, and don't get lost down there."
You step inside and take a look around, T'bitha, the room is empty and pitch black. Thankfully you can see, with your darkvision, but you don't see anyone, let alone the person who spoke to you a moment ago when you were outside. You hear "finally" in a sigh of relief before a small light appears floating in the air. Next to the light you see a drow appear out of no where, but you only see the parts of her that are illuminated, a trick the shadowhunters use to stay hidden. She has long white hair with streaks of black in it and she is wearing sleek formfitting black leathers studded with mithral studs and a dark purple cloak with black streaks in it. The apparel of a shadowhunter. "Finally" she repeats "I can't believe it's really you T. I almost didn't recognize you with that haircut. It looks amazing by the way." You take look at her facial features, it takes you a moment, because it's been so long, but now that she's illuminated and visible, you realize the drow standing in front of you is Jez'ryl. One of your very good friends back in Neriak.
(OOC: Khessa the plant can act like a familiar, though it's not a familiar per the find familiar spell. Hadi and Tristan, are you two just hanging out in the alley while T'bitha is inside this building?)
