High times at low tides

Milo's getting ready. When he's done planting the bomb, he looks over at "Everything is ready. Waiting for a sign from her when he should light the fuse and they have to start running.

Snake init 19

Rosie takes out a dagger that she hid in her clothes and jabs at the large viper's body

Attack: 9 Damage: 6

She lunges, but the snake slithers out of the way with a hiss and the dagger impales the sand. The viper then strikes at her with its fangs

Attack: 8 Damage: 6

Rosie manages to quickly dart backwards and avoids getting bitten. Og takes his greataxe and jumps forward, attempting to cleave the snake in half with a massive downward cut.

Attack: 12 Damage: 8

The snake barely slithers away from the massive axe as Og kicks up sand everywhere from the might of his swing.

Xander and Grol are up. The snake is similar in size to a Gaboon Viper with 1 inch fangs and looks extremely deadly.

Xander will follow Rosie's example and pull out two daggers. He will attack it once and then again as a bonus attack with his off hand.

It's clear he doesn't use them often.

OOC: I've been rolling an abnormal amount of 1s myself in other games over the past week as well...

Xander stabs the snake twice with both daggers and it gives a long hiss in pain bearing it's fangs. Dark red blood oozes out of both puncture wounds

Grol is up

Ban distracts the sentry with a little talk and Milo plants the explosives directly into the black powder cache. You both still hear voices and footsteps outside from multiple people.

"Alright then. Time to show us we're really alive," Ban states as she twirls her finger in a light-it-up motion. "Get us a boat, and I'll show you something of your wildest dreams. I'll even let you go. You have my word," she says, with a wink. As they go, she will be ready to react in the event he acts out, but otherwise, Ban will attempt to be calm and acting casually.

He says "Not that it makes any difference, even if you let me go they will kill me for not raising the alarm."

Grol grabs quickly for his morning star and shield. Raising the morning star high, he swings down at the snake.

Attack: 13 Damage: 8

Grol's morningstar smashes into the body of the viper and it flops around in pain, looking quite hurt.

Rosie takes a dagger and attempts to stab it in the head

Attack: 18 Damage: 4

The dagger impales it right through the brain, killing it. It's body twists and curls around in all directions as the head is pinned to the sand. Once it stops moving involuntarily, she cuts the head off, breaks off a stick nearby and puts it in the mouth while it's still resting in the sand, revealing its massive two inch fangs. She buries it in the sand.

Rosie says "If that thing bit any of us, I doubt we would have lived. Most people here bit by those things die within 6hrs in very painful deaths through uncontrollable bleeding...though probably a better rate than living out their lives here." She looks around and says, "We shouldn't linger here, other things on this island are attracted to the smell of blood (she points to the viper blood) What's taking them so long? They must have ran into trouble."

Grol looks around to see where a good place to go might be. Perception: 15

"Just a few more minutes, I know Ban she can get it done." Xander will continue to wait for the explosion.

Grol, you again look around the beach and see you're surrounded by tropical trees and undergrowth with no discernable trail. You also hear the sound of nocturnal insects chirping. So far the obvious route is following the stream which leads directly to the camp.

Milo takes the last words of ban as the sign to arm the bomb. "Well then, my ladies and gentlemen, let's get out of here". And follows Ban and their "prisoner"

OOC: I hope I understood correctly that Ban and the prisoner are going out, and I should activate it., otherwise we should be fast xD

How much time did you give yourselves?

You three begin making your way on deck and see 8 humans moving cargo onto the dock, thankfully, their backs are momentarily turned and do not notice the heavy footsteps. You all pass the crew quarters and the bulk of the crew are still asleep.

You see several smaller paddle boats in the port already in the water, in front and behind the ship, as well as a lifeboat near the bow that is attached to the side of the hull over the water. Several ropes are lashing it in place.

Knowing where he will need to go, Grol keeps an eye out of any other creatures that might surprise them. The last thing they need to get waylaid once the fireworks start. Perception: 12

Ban will instruct the sailor, "How about a boat? That lifeboat here looks good." She will walk over casually, attempting to blend in without attracting attention, and she'll move to untie one of the ropes. "Come on then," she adds as she hustles to get it all undone.

How much time did you give yourselves?

(As I said you probably have 2 minutes max. 10 min would mean the fuse is a impractically long. Not to mention they are clearly prepping to load the boat with supplies and would easily extinguish it, hence why the guy was down below making room.)

Ban as you walk over to the lifeboat the guys on the dock hear the sound of 3 pairs of footsteps walking across the deck. The 8 guys on the dock clearly notice you from the noise, drop what they're doing, and run towards you all.

You both manage to quickly untie/cut the lines and the lifeboat splashes into the water. You both dive into the water just as they are nearly upon you and they are shouting over the ledge. While you climb into the boat, a few break off and head towards the rowboat on the bow as the rest attempt to shoot you both with arrows as you row away. You see what you presume are the crew piling on to the deck as you creep further away.

Their arrows miss and after another minute there is a tremendous explosion. Wood, splinters, ropes, bodies, and body parts go flying in all directions as a giant glowing mushroom cloud fills the night sky. The rowboat following you is also caught in the blast and is obliterated. There is a blast of air as the shockwave passes you both in the boat.

Grol and Xander, you both see the explosion in the distance.

Everyone - a few moments after the explosion, you see smaller puffs of light and booms off in the distance as Truth's Tenacity opens fire on the camp. Explosions can be seen and heard directly where the camp is presumably located. Torch light are scattering in all directions. The blasts are continuous and in rhythm.

What do you all do?

"NOW! Let's head up stream, Rosie leads us to the slaves!" Xander will begin to follow Rosie to the camp and carve on nearby trees the direction we are heading for Ban and Milo.

"Phew!" Ban says, looking at the sailor and clapping him on the shoulder, "I did tell you at wouldn't hurt you and that you'd see something rather amazing. Now that you owe us a life--debt, take to rowing or you're on your own." To Milo, she says, "Not being the ower and being the owe-ee is a nice change. Usually, I'm the one being tossed out and having my life uprooted."
