Name: Kayhill Harpell of Longsaddle Race: Shifter-Longtooth Class: Barbarian (Path of the Beast) 8/Sorcerer (undecided as of yet) 5 Background: Kay is a Harpell, and if anyone knows who the Harpell's are they know its a clan of MAD wizards and Kay is no exception, Magic is his life. However Kay was not born with the Harpell intellect to follow the wizardly path, magic came to him naturally but his magical abilities were limited. What really set Kay apart from his fellow Harpell's and the community at large is his Bidderdoo bloodline. . This bloodline imposed a "curse" on all its descendants, Lycanthropy. It took some years but with the right training and guidance from his family Kay found he could control the beast within and summon it when needed, though there are occasions the beast seems more in control than Kay. On many occasions Kay and his fellow Bidderdoo's would form packs to protect Longsaddle but mostly they lived normal lives within the community. Outside of that, Kay is a bit of a prankster and well known in the community, especially for his cooking skills, being an outstanding cook. Recently Kay has taking more of an interest in his magical powers and trying to refine his control, over them. Kay's influence is within Longsaddle, the Harpells and the Bidderdoo's.
(not sure why the warning notification, got it after I changed some of the backstory but, no stats were changed...sorry)
Position: Dessarin Valley (nomadic band of tribesfolk)
Reason: Zyrt is one of the family heads of his travelling band, and a strong contender to be the next chieftain of the whole tribe. When he heard that folk visiting the tribes ancestral mound of Flint Rock by the edge of the Evermoors was never heard of again, he felt it was his responsibility to look into it.
Class: Barbarian (I'd love to do the XGtE Ancestral Spirits subclass, but I don't have access on Beyond. If you'd rather keep to what's available in program, Berserker is fine)
Race: Hill Dwarf
Position: As a younger son of the Battlehammer clan, out of the direct line of inheritance but still retaining the family name, Brast holds some popularity in the region immediately north of the Evermoors known as Mithral Hall. A dwarf stronghold of considerable puissance, the Battlehammer Clan's hold over the region (and general preeminence among the Families) has always been tenuous, ever on the brink of rising to glory and greatness or tumbling to the depths of despair and poverty. Recently, the signs seem to be trending downward, though many regional residents think of the Battlehammer name with a certain amount of respect, and often secret derision.
Reason: What better opportunity to earn back the fame rightfully due to the clan than by some classic heroism! Kill some beasties, save some commonfolk, and bring prosperity back to the Evermoor Way again!
Campaign sounds great. Good to see there is a lot of interest so far.
Name: Thelan Greenshard
Class: Ranger 10 (Fey Wanderer)/Rogue 3 (Scout)
Race: Wood Elf
Position: Thelan served as a scout in the Long Watch, patrolling the valley and wilds outside Evereska. One fateful day, he slipped through a Fey Crossing, spending years in service of the Summer Court as a ranger before returning to Faerun and the High Forest. Slipping back and forth between the Feywild and the High Forest, he rose in service to the Lady of the Forest. He serves as a Deputy Commander of the Guard, maintaining patrols to watch over the eastern and northern portions of the High Forest. He possesses a quick wit, quick hands, and a playful spirit.
Reason: News of the troubles surrounding the Evermoor, and more distressing rumors, has reached Lady Morgwais and the other leaders of the Council of the Wood, as well as his contacts in the Summer Court.. The Council has dispatched Thelan to determine what is behind these rumors and to do what needs to be done to protect the High Forest.
Name: Polo "Pigpen" Grocer (she/her) Race: Halfling Class: Level 5 Ranger/Swarmkeeper Level 8 Druid/Circle of Spores Position: Polo is the official apothecary at Zymorven Hall, where she works to keep the Lord's family, guards, and guests healthy and heal their injuries. She likes the job because she respects the Baron and because it allows her easy access to her beloved Evermoors. Reason: Polo has been a student of the Evermoors nearly her entire life. She felt drawn to it early, the rolling hills, the marshy flatlands, the dank swamps, the rocky outcroppings. She loved the landscape and considered herself a guardian of the area. It was also the best place to find the fungi and herbs that she used to heal and strengthen. And it was in there that she found her companion swarm, which appeared as an army of little frogs that followed her where ever she went. Sure, there were always Trolls and other dangerous creatures in the Evermoors, but of late their numbers had increased beyond the natural order. Something was off-kilter in the Evermoors and Polo was going to have to restore the natural balance.
Name: The Great Guardok Race: Earth Genasi Class: Level 10 Bard (Swords) / Level 3 Rogue (Swashbuckler) Position: Owner of the Guardok Grandioso Circus Spectacular, a travelling circus that has been making it's way around Faerun for some months now and has been more recently in the Northern area around Evermoor. Reason: Once the shows are finished in a given town or city, Guardok always travels on ahead to the next venue to make sure all is prepared and ready. On this occasion though, the circus did not arrive at it's new location. Something muysterious has caused it to disappear on route. Guardok is looking to investigate what has happened to his life's work.
Name: Malachi Greyblight Race: Human (Variant) Class: Wizard 13 (Necromancer) Background: Haunted One Backstory: As the second son of Lord Greyblight, Malachi's soul was destined for the dark lord that his corrupted family struck a deal with many generations ago. He only found out by accident while pouring through old tomes in the family library one night, and deeply distressed over his fate he left his home to travel the realms in search for a way to avoid this dark destiny. It took him years to come to the conclusion that the only way to avoid his fate was to prolong his life, indefinitely, and so he turned to the dark arts of necromancy. He devoted his life to discovering the necromantic knowledge needed to avoid final death, and eventually offered his services to The Black Network in exchange for access to the organizations extensive knowledge in this area of magical knowledge. Position: His current position is as an overseer of trade flowing favourably for the Black Network in the Evermoors area. He is mostly staying in Silverymoon using the settlements great library for his studies, but he frequently travels the area to take care of any disruptions of Zhent trade. Reason: As the commerce of The Black Network has waned due to recent troubles and the agents already sent out by him has not reported back it is his duty to get it done himself. He is aware that he might need help from others with similar interests and is already on a lookout for brave and easily duped adventurers to escort him into the wild. In the end he is not very loyal to the Zentarim but totally selfservient and would join any endeavour and pay any price to find the way to immortality.
Name: Sage Eruzkin Race: Half-Elf (Drow) Class: Fighter 2/ Warlock (Hexblade) 2/ Sorcerer (Clockwork) 9 Position: Sage is a wide-renowned mercenary coveted for his marksmanship. He often assists the holds and settlements around the Evermoors in fending off raids from trolls and their ilk. Though he has been approached many times to serve as permanent guard to several holds, Sage prefers not being tied down to one place; otherwise he wouldn’t be able to assist other settlements when needed. Sage idolizes the hero ranger, Mornbryn, who has inspired the half-elf’s own heroic aspirations. Although Sage is often on the road, he has a home in Mornbryn’s Shield. Reason: Sage knew of Mornbryn's fabled tomb and how it housed many of the ranger’s prized possessions. He always thought its existence was nothing more than rumors, until the town elder decided to confide in Sage of its existence. The elder was ashamed to tell him that long ago the tomb was discovered and raided by trolls from the Evermoors. Hearing this, Sage vowed to restore Mornbryn’s Tomb by retrieving its stolen artifacts.
