Payax moves throw towards it as he grabs his grappling hooks and rope, conjuring his Mage Hand to hold it as he launches both the invisible hand and the hook towards a lower hanging part of the cable, hopefully catching on and riding underneath the cable car.
You throw the hook Payax and watch with satisfaction as it fastens itself to the underside of the carriage. With a graceful run and leap you follow the cart upward, pulling yourself along the rope until you find purchase beneath the cart. Beneath you the city sweeps by as you rise higher and higher above the rooftops.
Vezda accepts the smokes, but pockets it. She offers around some of her remaining kobold fingers.
"Yeah, this definitely wasn't on my shopping list for the day. I'm used to working with fire, but not like that." As she passes the fingers to human and halfling, she pauses. "Don't you folk usually stay up at the Roost?"
Rise, this dwarf is worriedly thin, but seems chill when she isn't eating or throwing food.
Syver grabs another kobold finger while they’re on offer. Scoffing it down as he know knows who is his favourite here. Calling over in dwarvish. “if things go go shit. Jump on me and I’ll run. You can cook, making you more valuable to me than the others. We can leave them to die.”
Lina watches the exchange between the two of you Syver before she answers Vezdas question.
"We live near the Roost yes, but we aren't hermits. We travel the city as much as anyone. Riding the line is just the day job."
It takes around half an hour to reach the Roost and soon you all see the great towering structure looming before you. The cart head directly in to the tower giving you a close up view of the airships as they sit docked on the various platforms set around the vast structure. It is hard to believe how humans could have built a structure this immense.
The cart comes to a halt and the doors open to reveal a small platform where a security guards waits to check you in. The fellow is sitting ready a newspaper and does not look up until you all step out. At that point his eyes widen a little but Lina flips him a coin which he deftly snatches out of the air and goes back to his reading. The Skyrider leads you all to a nearby elevator.
"We should be safe now, and as I recall I promised to buy you all a drink."
Payax you find yourself 300 feet up, on the underside of the cart which it turning, ready to make its way back down to the Centrum. What do you wish to do?
Vezda replies in dwarvish, “Cool, as long as you get the groceries next time.” She then switches to common as she clatters off the cart and admires the view, “Nice view for a day job. What we drinking?”
Payax seeing that the line is nearing completion, takes out his grappling hook once again and chants his ever so lovely Mage Hand to get back to solid footing from underneath. This time, making sure that the hand for sure goes to where it is needed, he lets his small clockwork owl out from its ball and uses it to guide his Mage Hand to a safe spot to climb from while staying out of sight the best he can. If his owl has trouble spotting something, Payax will take control of its senses and find a spot himself.
Payax you climb up to a small platform on the outer edge of the tower, where either side of you the cable carts enter and exit the structure. You see the others exit their cart and walk toward an elevator. There is a security guard present but he is reading a newspaper. Roll for perception as you seek out a stealthy way forward.
Lina opens up the elevator as she turns to answer you Vezda.
"I recommend the rum, but they have pretty much everything."
Mender steps between you Syver and Vezda and whispers in Dwarvish.
"I would not recommend jumping, we are really high up."
Climbing forward, he looks up to his owl as it perches on his shoulder as he begins to look through the area for a solid route, rolling with advantage thanks to the helpful second set of eyes from his owl for a total of 17.
Payax you spot a doorway near the elevator marked "stairs," also a quick study of the elevator shaft tells you that you could probably get inside above the elevator cabin and ride it down. For either of these you would need to sneak past the guard.
As you are considering this your owl flutters down below and perches on the top of what appears to be an access ladder. Looking down you see a series ladders and walkways spidering all the way down to the yards below. A third option.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Payax looks through his options before settling on a direct approach and trying to hitch a ride on top of the elevator. With a route chosen, he begins to move forward towards the guard as he lets his Mage Hand pull forward toward the guard's newspaper, trying to pull it to a side facing away from Payax. With this added distraction, Payax attempts to pull past the guard quietly with a Stealth Roll of 28 as he makes his way towards the elevators to ride with the group.
Payax you watch as the others get into the elevator and it begins to descend. The guard has his head burred in the paper so your only real concern is silence and how to get through the elevator gate to drop down onto the cabin. You make your move sending your mage hand out toward the guard. As you reach the elevator it is a simple matter of unhooking the gate and dropping down and you have your mage hand guide the mans newspaper to an angle that obscures the sight of you.
The guard mutters a curse as his paper shifts thinking it to be due to the wind. There is a brief moment where he flicks and folds out the paper while you are still standing in plain sight, the gate open before you. You freeze and hold your breath and luckily the fellow is facing off to the right and does not catch you in his periphery. As he returns to his reading you drop down into the darkness. That was close.
Make an acrobatics check as you land atop the elevator.
Syver you are in a moving elevator so the only way out is up. There is a hatch in the roof, make an athletics check if you want to get up there and open it.
Payax moves to the hatch of the elevator and makes sure his cloak is pulled over him as he throws it open to give the group a peace sign before he closes up the hatch again.
Payax moves throw towards it as he grabs his grappling hooks and rope, conjuring his Mage Hand to hold it as he launches both the invisible hand and the hook towards a lower hanging part of the cable, hopefully catching on and riding underneath the cable car.
Ayy Yo he dead.
Payax give me a sleight of hand with advantage due to the assist from the mage hand.

A pleased hiss rings out quietly. Payax takes his position underneath the cable car and listens intently on the conversations above.
