"Make it quick. I don't know how much longer we can keep this up." Grigor tries to move slowly in the direction of Arlyn and Xorin, emitting another pulse of electricity.
Damage: 5
To the Creature he yells "We just wanted to pass through. Maybe YOU should quit with you stubbornness and let us go!"
Moving towards the gaping crack int he west wall you all continue to pelt the tentacles with a barrage both magical and physical. Two of the newest batch explode into grey pink chunks and land with heavy splashes in toe water.
Braddick shouts his threat or offer, or highly threatening offer to the strange creature in the dark pool.
The Flailing tentacles hesitate, then stop their advance swaying unstintingly in the gloom above the water. They hover a few feet from the chain clad warrior.
HMMM, TIS TRUE YOU ARE MORE TROUBLE THAN ANY I HAVE CONSUMED OF LATE. IT WILL TAKE ME A LONG WHILE TO REGAIN WHAT I HAVE LOST IN THIS ENDEAVOR.

Grigor yells as loud as possible "Our terms? You let us move on and we won't bother you anymore. All we want is to travel to the Goblin King and probably defeat him. We're not here to be consumed or to die and we can defend ourselves very well, you have now noticed that! If you want to continue consuming things, you should finally leave us alone. You can regain what you have lost and we can move on."
Xorin blinks a bit at the sudden, possibly temporary, halt to the fight.. and takes the moment to peer through the crack to see what's on the other side.

"No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow" "No power in the 'verse can stop me"
Xorin peers into the area revealed by the crack in the cave wall. He cannot see all that much even with his elf sight, the darkness is thick and heavy in this secluded corner of the cave. From what he can see it appears that there is no exit, the area is just a smaller space created in some quake or shifting of the earth in ages past.
THEN LEAVE THIS PLACE AND TROUBLE ME NO MORE...
The wounded tentacles rise and move back weakly into the lake and disappear beneath its still surface. You all sense the strong evil presence sulking at the bottom of the body of water, and its hunger and writhing duplicitous thoughts.
Ayrlin can see the shore continue around the edge of the large pool. The weird purple lit shelf of rock to the northwest is about forty feet off the floor.
From the site of the battle Braddik, Kasandra, and Corvus see the ledge twenty feet up two hundred feet to the east. The strange purple glow bathes it also, the three adventurers think they can see another dark shape on the wall that could be a crevice or a door.
Corvus begins to move to the east and walks a respectful distance from the water around the pool. "It would behoove us to divide our efforts, the sooner we are away from the thing in the pool the better."
Grigor finishes his witchbolt and falls to his knees. Holding up the spell and fighting this creature seems to have consumed his strength.
Breathing heavily he says "Corvus my friend, how right you are. I can't believe this...thing, really makes us go. We should hurry before he changes his mind!". Grigor gets up again, takes his staff in his hand and lets it light up again. "Does anyone see a way? I'm a little restricted with my human eyes."
His eyes wander through the dark cave, apparently still looking for more monsters.
Ayrlin moves north at speed to see if anything helpful pans out. He finds the purple light illuminating the rock shelf forty feet up is a kind of fungus. It covers the walls of the cavern in an almost velvety carpet of fruiting stems. Further to the north there is another darker crevasse that seems to be filled with rubble. It is on the opposite side of the shore from where the party entered this huge underground space.
The rest of the group make their way tot he east and cover the two hundred feet to the second rock shelf. This one is twenty feet up and is covered in the same weird purple fungus. There is a thick coarse rope dangling down to the floor in front of them. It is tied to a stone column formed by the meeting of stalactite and stalagmite on the shelf above. The rope itself is made from an unusual rubbery fiber, perhaps even from strands of the fungus on the shelf above...
125 xp each for the Sleeper, and 50 for the Doors. So 175 xp each!
Grigor moves up and grabs the strange rope. It feels rubbery and flesh like and gives to the pressure of his fingers. The strands are as thick as one of his fingers and are braided into an arm thick line. Putting his weight on it he feels it give slightly and stretch, but the strands remain intact and he thinks he can confidently climb it.
Corvus slings his shield on his back and tucks his mace into its belt loop. "I can foot this if you like mage and one of us can go up for a look?"

"I'm on it." Braddik says, stowing his sword, "If it'll hold me then the rest of you should be fine." Giving the rope a tentative tug, he tries climbing up.
