(Manikin unleashes a Chaos Bolt at the hurt Boar. The warbling mass of chaotic energy goes flying thru the air, hitting the Boar, little icicles frosting around his face as he keels over, dead. Manikin braces for the possibility of a surge of wild magic... but nothing seems to happen.)
(The final Boar goes to attack Manikin.)
Attack: 18 Damage: 5
(The Boar charges Manikin and manages to bury his tusk right into the Tiefling's right side! Manikin is hurt!)
(Thistle draws back his Bow and tries to put the Boar down.)
Attack: 8 Damage: 11
(The arrow goes flying wide this time.)
Cinder, you're up.
DM's note: Had to research on that one, Manikin. Interesting gameplay. I hope you get a 1 on one of those just to see what happens. Also, just so you all don't worry, you'll get a long rest after this, so there's no need to waste your potion or anything.
Rolling to his feet, Cinder stands up and charges the boar. His first hand axe swinging for the boar's flank (Attack: 15 Damage: 3). Moving with his momentum, Cinder follows through with his second axe attempting to bury in in the beast's skull (Attack: 23 Damage: 5)

Here's what I found on that, I don't see a Tides of Fate, only a Tides of Chaos, I'm assuming that's what you mean.
The rules for Wild Magic Surge are:
Immediately after you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, the DM can have you roll a d20. If you roll a 1, roll on the Wild Magic Surge table to create a random magical effect.
And the rules for Tides of Chaos are:
Starting at 1st level, you can manipulate the forces of chance and chaos to gain advantage on one attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. Once you do so you must finish a long rest before you use this feature again.
Any time before you regain the use of this feature, the DM can have you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table immediately after you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher. You then regain the use of this feature.
So that got you advantage on you attack, right? I saw the thing about bouncing to another enemy. What are you referring to, Manikin?
(Zlee rears back with his Longsword and stabs the final Boar right through the heart, killing him instantly. The party is apprehensive for a few moments, but soon realizes that seems to be all the Boars that are coming now. After gathering yourselves, you realize it's quite late and decide to set up camp for the night. Thistle, who has experience with this kind of thing, sets to work skinning and preparing the Boars so that you all have a great dinner tonight. You all sit around the campfire and commiserate.)
DMs notes: Feel free to RP, decide what you all want to do, if someone wants to keep watch, etc. Zlee, your dice rolls keep saying they're manipulated, when you go in to edit anything, please don't change anything in the Attack Roll string there.
Cinder sits staring into the fire obviously a bit shaken from his first encounter. Clearing his thoughts as Zlee speaks, he says, "I can take the second, my eyes are well adapted for seeing in darkness."
To further distract himself he turns to Manikin, "The magic you used, I've never come across it in my studies, what was it? It seemed chaotic, almost feral, in nature; as if you were barely controlling it. I've always read magic was a very exact study with complex formulae, runes, incantations and the like."
The way I read it was that if you rolled a 1 only, then there'd be a WMS table roll. At least, that's my interpretation of it.
I roll a d20 every time I cast a spell at level 1 or higher. If it is a 1 I roll on the WMS. But if I use Tides of Chaos and cast spells afterwards the DM can force a roll on the WMS, and then I regain the ability to use Tides of Chaos. I would like it to be a bit more random, and not necessarily up to the whim of the DM, so my compromise was to change the roll from a d20 after using Tides of Chaos to a d10 or even a d6

More than happy to use the opportunity to get some shut eye, Manikin lays back, his head resting against his rolled up bed roll and one leg crossed over the other. He looks to Cinder in response to Cinder's inquiry, "Magic can manifest itself in many ways. For some it is a learned practice, while others have an innate attunement to it that can't be readily explained, or really controlled. I have gained some modicum of control over my abilities, but every now and then things can go in away that is a little unexpected." He then looks ahead and closes his eyes, smirking, before saying "just try not to stand too close to me when I am using my abilities and I am sure everything will be fine."

(The party rests and enjoys their expertly prepared Boar feast, as Thistle shows his skills in cooking and preparing the meal. Taking turns on the watch and being generally helpful of one another, the night passes uneventfully.
In the morning, everyone awakens bright and early, refreshed and ready to continue their quest. They make their preparations for the day. Thistle, the experienced Ranger, is able to pick up the trail and continue following it. The party keeps tracking the goblins for several hours, until they come very close to a clearing a little after noon.)
"I'll scout ahead," says Thistle, as he halts everyone to ensure there are no surprises. After a few moments he makes his way back to the rest of the party.
"Guys, I think we found where the goblins took Bess."
(Thistle describes the following:
"How do you guys want to do this?"
DMs note: You all are where the word "Party" is on the drawing.
In my studies, I've read that goblins are terrible fighters and brute force is often enough to defeat them. I suggest we hit them quickly and fiercely, taking out any we encounter before they have time to react." Cinder says to the group after studying some notes in a book.
