A low rumbling growl comes from Sorrow as she hears Karie’s story. ‘Slavers-or worse. Maybe they happen to be in league with those responsible for the caravan attacks. I say yes, we’ll help you get your pole and fish back. Makes them rue the day their dames dropped them into this world.’ The axe handle creaks a bit as she tenses her fingers around it. ‘Everyone on board with this?’
Veeshal-being a stranger to the ways of Tabaxi, frowns a little, steps back away from the press of bodies and studies the interactions of the group to the plight of the seemingly young kit.
*Arashi frowns as he hears her story and electrical energy starts to crackle across his body.* "Just beyond the bend you say. These men will be sorry for ever approaching a child like that, and may the gods mercy try to hold us back in teaching them a lesson."
Millwater picks himself up "Pbbbzt-ptui" spits dirt. "Thank the Gods master did not see that" Shakes himself to be rid of the dirt while walking his way to his newfound companions. Listening intensely to Karie's story, bristles with hair raising at the thought of slavers.
He looks up at Sorrow, pulls his spear from his backpack firmly planting the haft into the dirt "I am with you"
Upon hearing the story from Karie you find a new purpose. As you listened to her story you could not find any sign that she spoke a false hood. When she is asked to describe the men all she can say is that they were dirty and unkept. She thinks they wore some type of mismatched leather armor but since they appeared to not have taken the time to wash themselves or their clothes she can not be sure. She e\tell you that there is a path that leads back to the river about 30 paces past the bend in the road. The path will lead past some of the think undergrowth in among the trees. The path opens up to a small inlet by the rivers edge. That is where she was fishing before they showed up.
Sorrow frees one hand to pull the balaclava back around her face. ‘If we’re all in agreement, and we’re all geared up, then let us hie away to find first the curs that would lay hands on a child. Once that is done, we can then reassess and determine if we are capable or ready to take on the caravan raiders.’ She eyes each of you, waiting for a response.
Veeshal swallows loudly and nods his head. He returns the book to his inner pocket, then lays his hands to his warhammer. ‘In for a copper in for an electrum’ he states with a wry grin.
Looking down the path, Tail Feathers eyes narrow. "They deserve what ever we give them. They might have information about the raiders." She shrugs, looking at the group.
Soldins expression hardens, a mix of emotions directed towards the path Karie had described. "Ohh don't you worry, I know exactly how to deal with those kinds of people" he spoke through gritted teeth.
He turned back to Karie, his expression back to soft and smiling. "Are you safe to return home on your own?" he asks, shifting to the side so she could pass him if she had somewhere safe to go.
Sorrow sheaths her axe and draws a dagger. Squatting down, she draws a rough map of the current view ahead of them in the dirt. ‘Karie, can you add a bit more details to this - like where the bend is, the path, the terrain on the path and at the river? Anything at all will help.’ She'll hold out the dagger handle first towards her.
To the group: ‘I can assume you will want my bulk and my weapons in the front?’
*Arashi readies himself to follow behind Sorrow when they leave. He is ready to teach these individuals a lesson, but knows his place is not against a hand to hand combat.* "I will follow behind you Sorrow, and will send volley's from a distance. I am not one for up close combat if I can avoid it."
Karie will tell you that she will be safe getting home now that she is in the village. When Sorrow kneels down and draws a crude map with a dagger she will point out the approximate place in the bend that her path is at. You can see that she pointed to a place just out of sight from where you stand currently. She tells you the path is not very long thru the trees before it opens up into a wide clearing where the grass is lush and tall allowing for a nice comfortable resting spot while waiting for the fish to bite. Other than that there is not much more she can tell you except the bad men came to the clearing by following the rivers edge upstream They may have a camp not far downstream from there glade if they are not still in the glade.
As you all feel that these men should pay for this outrage you head across the bridge after telling Karie you will retrieve her pole and fish. She thanks you and tells you she will wait your return at the Inn where she helps clean up after the meals. The road is wide as it heads int the forest and continues in a southerly direction As you enter the bend you can see the path that Karie was talking about. Currently you see seven dirty men coming onto the road from that path. Seeing the group of you heading south one of the men says. "Hey did any of you see a young girl run past you. She tried to steal our catch of fish but we saw her and almost caught her. She slipped our grasp when her shirt tore allowing us a nice view of her young firm titties." All the men chuckle at that and another says, "Yeah they looked rather tasty to me." They laugh again at that while looking at you waiting for an answer.

I stand with you all. This cannot go unpunished. If the scum frequent the area perhaps we can find information on our shipments as well.

*Arashi would have casted mage armor before moving on. When that happens a sheen of ice forms on his body protecting himself from oncoming attacks.*
As you all listen to these men and their side comments you can tell that they are not telling you what really is going on.
Arashi Monitor how long your mage armor lasts It has been two rounds if you cast it upon leaving the village by crossing the bridge.
