The Crystal, the Triforce, and the Shard of Division
Princess of Destiny
Limited Recruitment Opportunity
AURYN
Also known as the Golden Eyed Commander of Wishes, AURYN signifies the will of the Childlike Empress, who is the living embodiment of the world. Whoever wears an AURYN amulet is recognized across all Hyboria as an emissary of the Empress, usually for good, though sometimes for ill. Furthermore, the wearer can call upon the capabilities of AURYN while wearing the amulet in an effort to petition for cosmic intervention in their times of need, though these may not always be answered.
Often bestowed as a sign of trust and good faith from the Empress, AURYN is universally recognized in all of the high courts of Hyboria as a symbol of peacekeeping.
“AURYN: The Crystal, The Triforce, and the Shard of Division” is the story of Hyboria, a living world comprised heavily of elements from “The Legend of Zelda”, “The Dark Crystal”, “The Neverending Story”, “Legend”, “The Last Unicorn”, “Labyrinth”, and more that is broken into four campaigns- “The Crystal, The Triforce, and the Shard of Division”, “Lord of Darkness”, “The Hunt for the Last Unicorn”, and “Princess of Destiny”. I’ve worked to find interesting ways to combine these elements and have specifically looked at their similar themes, such as the mare unicorn from “Legend” and the unicorn from “The Last Unicorn” becoming the same character in this story.
The world is populated with all manner of beings, from those included in the 5 Edition Source Books to more obscure beings from the mish-mashed elements here; Brownies, Fairies, stuff like that. Some races, such as the Hylians, may be represented by Elves, whereas others, like the Kokiri, might be represented by Gnomes. NPCs abound, be them good or evil. They will react reasonably to your actions; if you burn down the local inn at a town that is mostly lawful good, for example, the police force will come for you and you’ll have to decide how you want to proceed, either through violence of surrender. In contrast, if you if do something good for the NPCs of a village, town, city, or whatever, they will remember your kindness and may rewarded you justly.
Your enemies are vast in number. You may encounter threats in the world that are mundane, like bandits in the wild or marauding goblins, or you may come up with very smart, well organized, and deadly opposition that directly reports to one of the bigger threats like Darkness or Ganondorf. There is also the possibility that you could uncover a new threat, something else deadlier and more cunning than anything you previously known about as it plots to enter the world stage.
Or you could even create the threat yourself.
War On All Fronts
The courts of Hyboria scramble as threats rise out of the darkness all around them and the Ivory Tower and Castle Hyrule fall.
Lord Vader marches south across Fantasia, his military expertise and well regimented, highly diverse units smashing all that rise against him and driving the survivors before them. They have crushed the Halfling Khan’s of the Nockmaar Grasslands in the Battle of the Shem and have lain siege to the Ivory Tower. Only THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, charged with reuniting the Dark Crystal and the Shard of Division, stand in his way…and the question is…will they survive long enough in the face of this unstoppable force to complete their mission?
Jareth, the Goblin King, has been cast out of the Labyrinth, his own Goblin army having turned on him. The usurper? Blix, the Goblin entrusted by the Lord of Darkness to kill the last two unicorns and plunge Hyboria into never-ending night, who now has possession of the stallion’s alicorn. Armed with near limitless magical offense, he has risen up to overthrow Jareth and rally the Goblins to him. It is now up to the band of heroes known as DAWN GUARD to wrest the alicorn from his control and unseat him from his new throne.
Ganondorf has cut a path of destruction across Hylia. Zora’s Domain is shattered, and the survivors hold on to what is left deep in their subterranean fortress. The Kokiri Village has been decimated and the Great Deku Tree is dying. Refugees flood the Kakariko Village and King’s Landing as the battle for Hyrule Castle turns for the worst. Now armed with the three Sacred Stones as well as the Triforce of Power and with his new ally, the Lord of Darkness, in tow, Hyrule Castle has fallen and the Temple of Time stands undefended. TWILIGHT EMBERS is hot on his trail as they scramble to learn what the Lord of Darkness’s new intentions are while they work with the Dawn Guard to find where the Last Unicorn has gone into hiding.
Kygrax the Kraken, controlled by or, more likely, simply in alliance with Queen Bavmorda of the Nockmaar Valley, has taken Princess Andromeda after a hellish battle and terrible destruction to the coastal city of Argos. Rallied by Atreyu, council to the Childlike Empress, the newly established FOURTH BANDhas set out south, along the coast of the Gerudo Desert en route to the Kingdom of Hyrule. Their goal; to find Princess Zelda, defend her at all costs, and make sure that the Ocarina of Time, the family heirloom now in possession, doesn't fall into enemy hands while simultaneously keeping the last hope of the Hylian ruling class alive.
You can be almost any sort of character you want for this campaign within the bounds of reason. When you join this campaign, you’ll be given a campaign link which will grant you access to ALL of the sourcebooks except for Strixhaven and Fizban’s. Content sharing is enabled. I’m open to homebrew, but we’ll need to discuss how it works first.
You’ll start at level 4, allowing you to get somewhat of a grip on who you want your character to be. Unless you multiclass, this should at least allow you to get your Race / Class / Subclass figured out from the beginning. Ability Scores will be rolled. This campaign relies on its own personal Discord server for coordinating information and dice rolls. The Avrae bot is ready to go and has been programmed to give you three sets of rolled dice when you request them. These rolls are generous, a reflection of your character’s life in the world as he or she prepares for their next adventure.
An adventurer who has been living in the world will probably have some possessions that are important to them. You can begin the game with 3 Uncommon Items (the green ones when you Add Items).
There are a lot of opportunities to improve your character as they adventure around the world. I fully intend to allow training and educational opportunities for your characters, so if you plan to learn a new Language or improve an Ability Score or learn a new Feat between leveling up, just communicate with me so we can figure out what you need to do to make that happen.
Speaking of Feats, all characters will start with 1. For some builds, this means you could enter the game with at least two Feats. Variant Human, for example.
I know this sort of starting mechanic isn’t for everyone and that some folks feel like starting with good bonuses cheapens the game, but here’s my argument; you play DnD to have a good time and do cool shit. As your Dungeon Master, I’m here to make sure you get what you need to do said cool shit. Again, you’re a hero. You’ve been living in the world. You’re going to have done more than learn the basics by this point.
The World is Ending
Hyboria is in peril.
The Dark Crystal, the ever present, all powerful source of magic that maintains the natural and magical order of the world, has weakened to an unsustainable state of degeneration after being damaged a thousand years ago. Without its influence to keep the order, many powerful enemies who have previously been relegated to skulking in the shadows have been emboldened to rise up and vie for control of Hyboria, seizing their moment to cause potential cataclysmic shifts in power. Worse than that is the Blight and the Darkening, precursors of the Nothing, a hurricane of destruction that will remove great swaths of the land from existence before totally annihilating the entire world.
The Childlike Empress, sickened by the world’s fall from grace, harkens across the land for all of Hyboria’s heroes, what few there are, to convene with her at the Ivory Tower so that a fellowship may be formed to offset these fluctuations. The task is overwhelming and multifaceted; to stop these nefarious forces from achieving their goals while also gathering some of the most powerful artifacts in existence. Only then can everyone and everything be saved.
These heroes will have to travel the globe and gather the three fragments of the Triforce as well as the Shard of Division, the missing sliver of the Crystal that has been gone for a thousand trine. When the pieces of the Triforce are combined beneath the Crystal of Truth, they will manifest the power necessary to recombine the Shard and the Dark Crystal into the Crystal of Truth, the pure source of life and energy for all Hyboria.
The task will not be easy. The materials required for such a monumental job are scattered throughout the entire world. Most are guarded by men or monsters that would give their lives to keep them where they are, and it is unlikely that anyone operating in the name of the Skeksis would allow the heroes to gain access to these items without a fight. On top of that, the political dynamic and military environment of the world is rapidly changing, declining into a dangerous state of aggression and unrest. There are others who would just as well have these items for themselves, and will stop at nothing to get them.
The Lord of Darkness, bent on the destruction of his greatest nemesis, light itself, has dispatched a band of Hobgoblins loyal to his cause to destroy the unicorns and dispel the sun once and for all. It is this banner that allows him to attract the fell things of Hyboria that share his ideologies. Worse still, Calibos, hunter of fey things and enemy of the forces of good, has aligned himself with the Dark Lord and intends to see his bidding done.
Ganondorf, the King of Thieves, an avid practitioner of dark magic and power hungry warlord from the depths of the Gerudo Desert, has set his eyes on capturing Hyrule Castle and the three pieces of the Triforce for himself, and more if he can find it. Intent on being the sole ruler of the land and unifying all he may survey for his own purposes, he has positioned himself to be a nigh unstoppable force of harm in Hyboria.
And these are only a few of the foes who have crawled from the chaos to conquer Hyboria. With whisperings of malicious forces guised with names like Keldor, Lord Vader, and Thulsa Doom, it all seems very daunting indeed. But all is not lost. The forces of good, names like King Hyrule and King Randor, the Childlike Empress, and even Augrah herself, circle their defenses, intent on raising the appropriate means to protect Hyboria from falling into endless twilight or, worse still, Nothingness.
Here There Be Dragons
The land is home to many vast and diverse ecosystems, each teaming with many varieties of life, some mundane, others exotic and dangerous. Heroes are warned to use caution as they venture into parts of the wilderness where no man has gone in many trine. The races are almost as numerous in variety as they are in individuals. Creatures great and small, plants that can hardly be imagined, even things from other plains of existence and from the depths of Subternia, the paradise of Preternia, or the voids of Etheria, populate the surface of the world, the depths of its oceans, and the darkness of its underground caverns.
Mighty dragons roam the hills in search of treasure to add to their hordes or meat for their bellies. The Tarrasque appears near the time of the Conjunctions to raid villages. Rocs, once used as warmounts by Giants, nest in the mountains. There is a rumor that a Kraken is terrorizing the coastal cities worldwide. And what’s worse, there are whispers in circles of knowing that something else is trying to get in from Etheria, something of immense evil.
The Dark Crystal, its power having dipped below some sort of unknown threshold that kept the world mostly in order, is no longer able to keep these myriad threats in check. The natural order is deteriorating rapidly. As natural and magical ecosystems fail the creatures that rely on them for sustenance flux out of their normal routines and venture out for survival, often bringing them in deadly contact with people. Encountering a monster is no longer a matter of if, but rather when, and it seems that problem will only continue to amplify.
Become the Legend
AURYN is a unique campaign experience. Rules are important, but they play little role in the telling of our story. The players of AURYN are more interested in the story itself, the progression of the lore, and the epic journeys of the characters. The world is ever changing; in fact, the situation that the players started with when AURYN began in January 2022 has already evolved significantly, and in many ways that I, as the Dungeon Master, didn't even predict. Characters are being challenged with difficult decisions, powerful foes, and moral dilemmas. The characters, outfitted with bountiful knowledge of the world, are still encountering unknown environments and mysteries.
I can't give you on specific reason to apply to AURYN, but I can certainly give you a list of things to think about-
A Goose, ridden as a warmount by a Brownie (in this case, played as a Leprechaun), as used Frightful Presence to scare the hell out of a band of Stormtroopers and Ogres
A Party has fought to the death with Lord Vader, who is just as frightening as you'd imagine
A Party has met and interacted with the urRu (Mystics) of "The Dark Crystal" fame
A Party has traversed the Labyrinth with Jareth, Sarah, Sir Didymus, Ludo, and Hoggle
A Party has relived the Kraken scene of "Clash of the Titans" in horrifying detail...
A Fairy Monk has punched the Predator in the face (Yes, that Predator)
A party has delved into the depths of the Great Deku Tree and fought the Queen Gohma
A party has held audience with Princess Ruto at Zora's Domain
A party has viewed the world of Hyboria through the Scrying Orb of the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull
A Fighter has used the power of the Voice to Fus Ro Dah a wyvern
A character rides a Flail Snail, broken as a warmount, into battle
A character has encountered the ghost of the Hero of Time
This is a Limited Recruitment Opportunity for Reserve Players!
We are currently interested in bringing in players with characters who are prepared to jumped in if a spot opens up and a band (what we call parties) needs a new player. This means you may be sitting in a holding pattern for a few weeks or even a month before you get to start playing. While this is less than optimal, and I understand that, it does allow you to learn the world, hear some of the goings on, and gives you plenty of time to get ready. I'll drop you in as soon as I am able. Players who are looking at having to start with new characters due to a character's death will get first priority at being rehomed, but we do have openings from time to time because of players who have to drop for unforeseen circumstances.
At this time we are looking for 2, possibly 3, reserve players!
Who We Are
The players of AURYN are a community. It's overwhelmed a few people in the past to realize how active we are. At least 50% of our activity is on Discord, which we use to run the game, coordinate posts, and let the individual teams discuss what they're doing in game. There are a lot of opportunities for media discussion on the board and community building is big. Sometimes we host separate IC events for community building and funerals for PCs as well. Right now we're organizing our first Movie Watch Along for this fall with interested players!
None of this is mandatory of course. We just like to build friendships.
We strive hard to know one another in some way as well as to support one another. We are accepting and people of all races, beliefs, identities and sexual orientations. We believe that everyone should have a right to be who they want to be, believe what they want to believe, and love who they love without judgment.
If you're looking for more than just a game, if you're looking for friendships and team work, keep reading.
Who We Are Looking For
We need people who want to participate and write this story. AURYN is widely influenced by popculture, with nods to everything from the present and back, but with heavy nods toward the 80s and that eras dark fantasy settings. While you don't have to know all of these different references, it certainly helps to have a love for some of the source materials, with the most important being the following movies-
Legend
The Dark Crystal
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance
The Neverending Story
Labyrinth
The Last Unicorn
*The Legend of Zelda series
Specifically "A Link to the Past", "Ocarina of Time", "Twilight Princess", "Skyward Sword", and "Breath of the Wild"
We are specifically looking for people who can post at least once a day, on average, although we understand that sometimes people can't be on everyday. When you post, it should be something of meaning; if you're the kind of player that shows up every now and then and posts something that is barely even a sentence you're not going to make it and will eventually be written out. Please, save myself and the other players the time and don't apply if this is you.
One of the biggest aspects of AURYN and its success is Discord. We use Discord not only to build a community amongst the people involved, but we also use it to coordinate character and player discussions / actions, roll dice, and share maps and movements. You'll notice that we keep very little OOC chatter in the other three AURYN threads, and it is because we use Discord so extensively. Anyone that wants to be a part of AURYN needs to have a Discord account and needs to be prepared to contribute to their team chat so that everyone can perform on the same page.
Getting Started
First and foremost, your writing ability matters. English does not have to be your first language so long as you're proficient. Players are expected to have a good grasp of sentence and paragraph construction as well as spelling and grammar usage. Semi-literate to literate players will have the most success with the application process.
DO NOT WORRY ABOUT MAKING A CHARACTER SHEET AT THIS STAGE OF THE APPLICATION!
Please apply in THIS THREAD! Do not send applications via PM, Discord, or any other thread!
I love seeing diversity in players and characters, so anyone and everyone is welcome to join! Furthermore, once you join the AURYN campaign, you’ll be given access to ALL of the source books except for Fizban’s and Strixhaven (although I intend to add these soon).
More than anything else, I want to have fun. And I want you to have fun. That’s why people play D&D. With this in mind, I must insist that if you’re the kind of player that is a rules lawyer, stickler, overly confrontational…well, don’t join. If you do, and this sort of fun-killing behavior starts, I’ll eject you from the game. I’m all about constructive disagreements and so forth, but being a butthole will not be tolerated. Neither will sexism, racism, homophobia, or any sort of discrimination against a protected status, or really anyone for any reason, period.
I do prefer that only adults apply.
There will not be any sexual situations in this campaign. Now then, it will be completely acceptable for a character to be romantically seduced (think Jareth seducing Sarah at the ball or Darkness seducing Lili), but it won’t progress further than maybe, maybe a kiss, and then we’ll decide together what is appropriate.
FOR THIS RECRUITMENT EVENT I WANT TO SEE AT LEAST TWO, POSSIBLY THREE CHARACTER PROPOSALS!
That's right. Yes, I understand that it is a lot. But I'm giving you the opportunity to go buck wild making characters for me to look at. These characters need to be of different Classes at least, because my goal here, recruiting reserve characters, is to have people ready to jump in the game who are capable of filling multiple party roles if a spot comes open. Party roles are filled in a first-come-first-serve basis. I'll pick one of your characters when your number comes up to place in a party that needs that role filled. I hope this makes sense. I encourage you to create characters you really like, because there's not telling who you'll wind up playing.
I'm really interested in seeing preexisting characters adapted for AURYN! Luke Skywalker? Roland Deschain, the Gunslinger of The Dark Tower series? Jack, from Legend? Navi, from Ocarina of Time? Kratos of God of War fame?
Show me your awesome characters! You want to make a character that is a homage to an existing character, like Daenerys Targaryen or Luke Skywalker? Please PM me first (on DnD Beyond or on Discord at J.F. Capps#7996) so we can make sure the character fits and that someone else isn’t making that character (or that I don’t already have them inserted into the world as an NPC).
Currently, there are a few characters who are off limits. Link and Princess Zelda are unavailable.
As stated previously, your character is a hero in this world, albeit a minor hero (for the moment). This is what I intend for starting characters-
All characters start Level 4
All characters start with 1 Feat (you can have more than 1 in circumstances where provided by the rules of the game like Human Variant)
Milestone leveling up
Access to all sourcebooks except Fizban’s and Strixhaven
Homebrew allowed!
Already includes homebrew for Gelflings, Brownies, Lightless, Zoras, and Koroks as well as Lupine (dog folk like Sir Didymus) and Thri-Kreen
Jedi subclass
Witcher subclass
Rolled Stats (averaging between 80 and 90 total)
Start with equipment that is appropriate for your character
Start with 3 Uncommon Items
All alignments welcome (but you better be prepared to play it appropriately!)
You MUST have Discord! I’ll be coordinating most of this campaign through Discord, so I’ll add you to our own Discord server where you can roll your stats and we can talk back and forth about what’s going on in-game. I won’t be cluttering up the game play thread with post orders and all that, so you absolutely MUST be paying attention to Discord for this to work.
One last thing; the more effort you put into your character, the more likely you are to get to join. I don’t have a fixed number of players in mind at the moment, but I might run as many as two or three parties so that different groups can tackle different quests.
DO NOT REVEAL YOUR ALIGNMENT OR SPECIFIC MOTIVATIONS IN THIS THREAD! I will request your Alignment, Personality information, and motivations if I’m interested in your character. If we have an evil character that’s going to sabotage things, I want it to be a surprise.

Backstory: Ohby Wahn was taken in at a very young age by a Hylian warrior who trained the young lad in the art of combat. When Ohby was a teen the warrior mentor had a son of his own. Ohby was considered the adopted sibling of the newborn child and assisted in his training.
Over the years the family would go on expeditions throughout the land of Hyrule until one fateful day when the father was killed defending his sons from a band of goblins. The boys made it back to their village battered, bloodied and and traumatized from witnessing the death of their father.
The younger child was particularly impacted by the death. He felt powerless during the battle and vowed that from now on he would master dark arts forbidden by the Hylians so that he would never fail anyone again. He was for all intents and purpose a dark Hylian (Drow).
Ohby discovered what his sibling was doing and interrupted an evil ritual in which a young child would be sacrificed. The brothers fought and misdirected energies from the ritual horribly disfigured the younger one and the sacrifice was inadvertently killed.
The others in the village did not believe that the younger brother was a Drow and blamed Ohby for his assumed death and the murder of the young sacrifice. Ohby was sacrificed.
Forced to live alone in the Hylian wilderness, Ohby became a reclusive hermit. He blames himself for not seeing that his brother had embraced the dark arts. He truly believes that had he done more the brother would have remained a noble member of Hylian society.
Unable to return to his village and opting to shun contact with others as much as possible, Ohby honed his skills as a ranger to survive in the wilderness but remains haunted by legends of the deeds committed by his evil brother.
Race- (remember you have access to almost all of the races and subclasses)
Shanti started as a home-brew adaptation of a Samsaran from Pathfinder. I've considered making her a consecuted elf or Drow from the Krinn Dynasty. Basically, she is Jadzia Dax from Star Trek: Deep Space 9
Class and Subclass- (remember you have access to almost all of the races and subclasses)
Circle of the Stars Druid and Peace Cleric multiclass
Backstory- (she was initially to be used in a space based campaign but I can tweak her origin based on where she ends up)
Shanti is the 10th manifestation of the Si'taara line that started with Kamin Si'taara and continued through: Li'la, Tobynn, Emony, Audr'i, T'orias, Ku-r'zon, Jadzy'a, and Ezri. Shanti remembers bits and pieces of her previous lives and the pursuits they followed. Each of her manifestations starts as a Circle of the Stars Druid, hence their surname, Si'taara, which means star. Some have stayed on that path to its highest completion and others have gone in other directions, adding skills to their celestial foundation. Some of the Si'taaran manifestations have been quite the intergalactic adventurers while others have remained closer to their home, maintaining a strong sense of community. While the Si'taara line does not always manifest on the same planet, they have all manifested within the United Peacekeepers Alliance, under the protection of the Aasimar, giving the Si'taaras an appreciation of the celestial and the divine. Each of the Si'taaras are unable to wildshape into other creatures as might be expected of a druid. Instead, they call upon aid from a familiar fey spirit that is a reflection of their former manifestation. Devout followers of Selune, this fey cat appears to have deep purple-black fur with white eyes and a single iridescent star located on the center of its forehead. Shanti's familiar is Ezri, her former self that was slain by a power-obsessed warlock, Du'kat. The Si'taaras are also unique amongst their kind because of the shimmering, iridescent constellations and galaxies that form spots running from their forehead and temples down along the sides of their bodies to their feet. These spots are barely visible on their pale blue skin unless seen in the proper light. Like most Samsarans, the Si'taaras cannot abide eating animals that have awareness. While some Samsarans delve into eating their world's version of fish and poultry, the Si'taaras are strictly vegan. This is supported by their Druidic heritage as they can always subsist on Goodberries should food sources become scarce on their adventures. Shanti manifested on the planet of Kataan, the home planet of her first manifestation, Kamin Si'taara. Despite her noble background, she is very benevolent and strives to fight for the rights of the underserved and under-privileged. She is quite popular in her home town of Ressik, which she misses terribly as she spends much of her time learning diplomacy and working as an advocate for peace in the capital city of Silaria. Shanti is an aid to members of the Celestial Senate that help to maintain stability within the United Peacekeepers Alliance. Shanti loves to spend time playing Kamin's Ressikan flute, which has been passed down to all of the Si'taaras along with a special melody that he composed. It helps her to think and to find ways of coping with her impulsive habits (she is oddly drawn to gambling and partying and is much more of a risk taker than the typical Si'taara, or Samsaran for that matter!). Music also helps to quiet her mind so she can search for diplomatic solutions to problems in her edge of the galaxy. For all of her impulsive habits and entitled heritage, she is a diplomat at heart- striving to create peace in her part of the galaxy. In fact, that is why she is called Shanti- it means peace in her Samsaran language. Shanti Si'taara or Peace Star.
Name- Almalthea "Thea" Eaglecleft and her sprite familiar Lir
Race- (remember you have access to almost all of the races and subclasses)
Originally, she was a home brew unicorn in a human body but has been reskinned as a human with a unicorn patron for a one shot
Class and Subclass- (remember you have access to almost all of the races and subclasses)
Celestial Warlock- Pact of the Chain
Backstory- My origin is a mystery to me. Around the age of seven, I was found alone in the forest of the Western Heartlands near the Dunrock Mountains. I was adopted by a community of Shield Dwarves, ultimately apprenticing under (and being adopted by) master jeweler Sindri Eaglecleft. As I grew and studied, strange mystical abilities began to manifest, both serving to protect me from danger or aiding me in my work. One day, a tiny sprite companion came along and joined me in my work! I have no idea where he came from but he has been a stalwart companion. His name is Lir and I am teaching him to assist me with my jewelry making. He can be a bit mischievous but his companionship has been invaluable to me. I am prone to daydreaming with my thoughts drifting and leading me to think that this is not my authentic life. Even more confusing is the pink and lavender sunburst mark on my forehead. After practicing my trade for 10 years, Lir and I finally left my dear adoptive father and set out on our own to discover the truth about who I truly am...
Name- Naia Hwanu-Na'ring and her badger friend Helga (in my previous game, Helga became awakened)
Race- (remember you have access to almost all of the races and subclasses)
Firbolg
Class and Subclass- (remember you have access to almost all of the races and subclasses)
Twilight Cleric (spiritual weapon and guardians are unicorns; her summon celestial is a winged unicorn)
Backstory-
Naia was born to a clan in the Western Heartlands. It was a peaceful community of Wood Elf and Shield Dwarf villages near the Reaching Woods & Sunset Mts. As a youngster, I collected gems for Sindri Eaglecleft (a Dwarf master jeweler). Eventually, I became his apprentice. Once grown, I was tasked with guarding a herd of unicorns in the forest near Neverwinter. It was a peaceful time for me and my badger friend, Helga. One night, a Tiefling Warlock controlled by the Archdevil Zariel murdered a unicorn! Under the light of a full moon and a sky full of stars, the goddess Lurue imbued me with their powers so I could one day find this Tiefling. Hopefully, I can use a blessed potion they gave me to rid him of the influence of Zariel. If not, then I must mete out justice in a different way. I am adventuring because of this task. However, that won't stop my search for shiny things...
Class and Subclass- Fighter Lvl 4 - Martial Archetype (Cavalier)
Backstory- Dozazu is unique among the moblin army, even for her Miniblin compagnons, as she is was not only a capable fighter among the army of Ganondorf but she was also different in her view of the world, she wasn't in this army of conflict and power (however, she does believe that might IS the only way to do correct rules) but the miniblin was in this army to discover and witness the many places that the common miniblin wouldn't have the chance to see. But rapidly, she have seen the wars and conflicts, and her optimism was shatter with time, death and glory isn't what she seek and it was abnormal that her Deity Canon would let her waste her life in battles that she personally believe to be win in a near future, him who (she believed) would not just let his followers be just soldiers, pawns of a cosmic game at have not end-game then more conquest for the sake of conquest. And so, she made a choice, one that could look like blasphemy for your friends in the army, one that look like betray for the champion of Ganon that is Ganondorf, one that she could regret once the day of death show itself to her…But freedom and dreams can’t be control, not even by Dazozu herself, and so she run away from the army and wanders in the world, to see the beauty of nature and of what this world could give to her as a aventure. This is a nomad journey, one that the miniblin wished for and one that she hopes will continue without any regret or fear.

Horto is what could be called a “anarchist”, one that want to make the world as his warfare playground with no goal then his own amusement, one of many cyclops that have lived in a society (or atleast the cyclops concept of a society) based on autocracy, militaristic expansion and betray, Horto is a evil anarchist among others, which of course lead to the inevitable end of the “society” of the cyclops with a bloody intern war, after this war, the society of the cyclops DID come to a end.
But the end of society leads to individualism, individualism leads to many ideas, many ideas lead to conflict; and to make conflict with your enemy, you need allies even if you are not the social time, and fortunately, Horto is the type to share the fun with friend and a strong fighter, it wasn’t enough to win the intern conflict among the cyclops and this latter get captured by one of many army of the hyrule army. Once prisoner, the cyclops prepared to make his escape alone, day by day, but alone, he know he would just get himself killed, and so, despite not begin the guy to make strategy, he is the one to make friends and compagnons to destroy and kill, and so, with the temptation of freedom and the whispers of revenge, Horto become the sparke and the muscles of a uprising but not the leader, titles do not interest him but the combat. After leaving the ruins of a prison as a “winner” of a “war” (to his prideful point of view), the cyclops decide that now that he is now truly free, from both his cyclops compatriots and the prison, and now live to more conflict to participe, for glory, bloodlust and pride.

Godshell Stellaquaris Phorcys - Wizard Astéri - Auryn : Lord of Darkness Urzan Baeldon - Paladin ördög - Stranger Things: Hunt for the Thessalhydra
Race- Astéri (anthropomorphic starfish with one eye)
Class and Subclass- Wizard - school of Evocation
Backstory - Godshell’s story at first didn’t begin in Hyboria, but somewhere else, what is that “somewhere else” ? only Godshell know what is this place it come from, but what is sure is that, it is very improbable that it wanted to be drag into a another place like Hyboria, and it is even more improbable that the starfish from a another dimension want to stay in this realm after the first impression that Godshell got for the local habitants, at the dragontail mountains. Summoned by accident by a strange clan of orcs with terrible intentions and many slaves, Godshell rapidly see itself become one unique slaves among many, unique as he is the only sentient human-height starfish among the more commun races that make the prisonners of the orcs; but since the moist and physically weak creature it was couldn’t be useful for the manual tasks, it rapidly become the scapegoat of the slave and the target of the bullies. but this last until the starfish choose to espace, and where it lack in strength, Godshell compensate it with intelligence and agility (that latter begin help by the simple fact of our astéri not have external skeleton), this evasion itself wasn’t the most stealthy but when you can use magic to cause damage and the brain to make mayhem at a place you are not in…you don’t need big plans! Now free from the dragontail mountains, Godshell the astéri is now trying to get back in its own dimension but for that, it needs help, for it doesn’t know anything about this place, this planet, the rest of its inhabitants and the way to get back to its place.

Thanks everyone for the applications so far! We are starting the second stage of the selection process. If anyone else is interested in applying, there is still time.
When Dee was 5 years old she got abandoned by her mom, being a tabaxi it made it hard to find a home, most people didn't take kindly to her race. She tried to stay around towns, but usually she would be kicked out, accused of scaring away animals. When away from towns she would live in the woods, sleeping in trees and things like that. She got very good at running from things and because of this, she’s very flexible Eventually she got tired of being alone and gave up on finding a town that would let her stay. So she stopped looking, instead making a small area of the woods her home.
Idea 2: Name:Xay
Race:Changeling
Class: Bard
Backstory: Xay is a ex-circus performer, her ability to change her looks made it easy for her to skip town when necessary, she could easily take on her dream form for her performances. Shes always loved the idea of being a performer, but her tendency to steal makes it hard to stay in one form very long. She loves animals, and really anything that wont judge her. She stays in trains and rides the rails till she can find a new place to preform. She's made a modest amount of money from her work, and from stealing and pawning off things. But shes also gotten lonely, having to leave everyone she makes connections to. Shes looking to finally find somewhere she can stay, with a group that will except her.

Rallied by Atreyu, council to the Childlike Empress, the newly established FOURTH BAND has set out south, along the coast of the Gerudo Desert en route to the Kingdom of Hyrule.
I can't give you on specific reason to apply to AURYN, but I can certainly give you a list of things to think about-
This is a Limited Recruitment Opportunity for Reserve Players!
While you don't have to know all of these different references, it certainly helps to have a love for some of the source materials, with the most important being the following movies-
We are specifically looking for people who can post at least once a day, on average, although we understand that sometimes people can't be on everyday.
This is what I intend for starting characters-
You MUST have Discord!

AURYN: The Crystal, the Triforce, and the Shard of Division Recruitment Thread
DM of AURYN: The Measure of Devotion - Escape from New York
DM of Legacy of NIMH
Character proposal:
Name: Ohby Wahn
Race: half-elf
Class: Ranger
Character Proposal:
Name- Shanti Si'taara and her cat familiar Ezri
Character Proposal:
Character Proposal:
Character Proposal:
Name- Dozazu Impsing
Race- Miniblin
Godshell Stellaquaris Phorcys - Wizard Astéri - Auryn : Lord of Darkness
Urzan Baeldon - Paladin ördög - Stranger Things: Hunt for the Thessalhydra
Character Proposal: second proposal
Name- Horto Bigjaw
Race- Cyclops
Class and Subclass- Barbarian (path of the beast)
Backstory-
Horto is what could be called a “anarchist”, one that want to make the world as his warfare playground with no goal then his own amusement, one of many cyclops that have lived in a society (or atleast the cyclops concept of a society) based on autocracy, militaristic expansion and betray, Horto is a evil anarchist among others, which of course lead to the inevitable end of the “society” of the cyclops with a bloody intern war, after this war, the society of the cyclops DID come to a end.

Urzan Baeldon - Paladin ördög - Stranger Things: Hunt for the Thessalhydra
Character Proposal: third propasal
Name- Godshell

Backstory:
When Dee was 5 years old she got abandoned by her mom, being a tabaxi it made it hard to find a home, most people didn't take kindly to her race. She tried to stay around towns, but usually she would be kicked out, accused of scaring away animals.
When away from towns she would live in the woods, sleeping in trees and things like that. She got very good at running from things and because of this, she’s very flexible
Eventually she got tired of being alone and gave up on finding a town that would let her stay. So she stopped looking, instead making a small area of the woods her home.

She loves animals, and really anything that wont judge her.
She stays in trains and rides the rails till she can find a new place to preform.
