Would definitely be interested in exploring this world. I like how you mentioned broader story plans but also seeing where the interests of the PC's take it.

Name: Azax Denduroth Race: Dragonborn (Metallic) Class: Barbarian (Path of the Beast) Background: Inheritor
Backstory (brief): (inspired by the DM's mention of dragonborn having no culture, and would be eager to iron out the details with the DM depending on the rarity of dragonborn, etc.) Ajax has always wanted to know where he came from, if he had a family, and where his place in the world would be. Having met very few dragonborn nor fully understanding their origins he wanders from town to town looking for other dragonborn or any other source of information to answer his many questions. With no proper mentors he also struggles to contain the fiery rage and bestial instincts that burn within his draconic blood but on the whole is a good natured creature who finds both music and drawing to be soothing. With him on his lifelong journey Azax carries a secret treasure that no one else has ever seen. The massive dragonborn wanderer hopes the answers to his many other questions will also unlock the mystery of his secret 'inheritance' of sorts. One thing Azax has given little consideration to is that he might choose his own purpose, his own home and his own community rather than spending his life seeking answers that may not be out there waiting for him.
What are you doing in Fort Imma?: Having wandered through Talith and Osmial, Azax has now reached Fort Imma in Lindost. Although previously not a soldier, adventurer or hero of any kind Azax's pure size, strength and innate bestial fury make him a force when certain situations arise. Azax has unintentionally made a name for himself in Fort Imma by simply standing out in a crowd as a huge dragonborn, by pulling a town guard out from beneath a collapse in a section of the old fort wall and by saving his caravan from a monstrous attack on the way to the Fort only two weeks ago.Commander Landgrave must have taken notice.

Hi! I'm a bit new to DnD, not so new to character generation and creating in a post-to-play format. Absolutely love this world and campaign! I'd love to join, but regardless I'll definitely see where this story goes, it looks epic! Love the character suggestions so far. Here's my character. :)
Backstory (brief): Knack hails from the nomadic tribes in Osmial. She was co-parented by most of the people traveling with her birth parents, building flashy skills and figuring out how to hold and direct people's attention. As she grew, she developed the nasty habit of using this awareness and skill to pocket anything that caught her eye, fine tuning when she wanted to be noticed and seen and when she could slip into the background. It started as simply another area she could be competent in, just another useful skill set. Over time it shifted into something sharper, something necessary, a level of control Knack craved. She split from her family far too young to be sensible, trying to distance herself to protect them in the increasing likelihood that she was caught while pushing towards more affluent areas, targeting higher value marks. Along the way she's made a few too many well-connected enemies (and may or may not be banned from certain establishments - really, that riot it wasn't even her fault, but everyone needs a scapegoat and who better than her), and because of this changes names and personas as easily as she switches between acts.
What are you doing in Fort Imma?: The group of performers she's been traveling with for the last month or so led her here, and Knack thinks now might be the best time to amicably part ways before they connect any dots regarding a few misplaced valuables.

Name:Mere Race: Water Genasi Class: Paladin Subclass: Oath of the Open Sea Background: Faction Agent Backstory (brief): It was her strange features and being treated as an outcast that spurred her on to train relentlessly and finally earning the blessings of the sea. She works as a liaison officer between the Tritons of the Ousefid Sea in trade deals with the surface dwellers. Even though she is not a Triton, she feels as if they are her people. Which pained her to know that the amulet of Tempestre was stolen. Its a revered relic that was only shown on display twice a year during the Equinox. What are you doing in Fort Imma?: The few clues point to smuglers that have set sailed to Fort Imma. As one with the most experience among surface dwellers she was tasked to retrieve the relic.
Backstory (brief): Zathistura was a noble born in Talith. Disillusioned by the legacy of the Shadow War and followers of any religion, he left his homeland years ago. He considers himself a warrior philospher, and refuses worship of any god believing them all false and beings of greed that seek power from believers. He generally disdains believers, but is good hearted and dedicates himself to justice with honor.
What are you doing in Fort Imma?: He spends his time studying magic and meditating, while at the same time helping those less fortunate.
Name: Veritas Race: Human Class: Paladin Subclass: Oath of Devotion Background: Acolyte Backstory (brief): Veritas was raised in the temple of Lathander. He was left on the steps when he was just a babe and has grown into a strong young man ready to bring the light of Lathander into Augera to vanquish those who bring disease, death, and evil. What are you doing in Fort Imma?: Presumably born in Imma, at least raised there.

Race: fire genasi
Name: Bonfire
Class: Ranger (horizon walker)
Background: Bonfire is no ordinary hunter. He was trained by his father to hunt down monsters from other worlds, especially from elemental planes. He searches for portals to these planes to seal them before the creatures within leave to reek havoc on the material plane. He has built up quite a reputation of getting the job done but also cares for the civilians that he helps. He likes to have a laugh and is more than happy to get lost in an adventure. Bonfire has made his way to Fort Imma in hopes to find his father again, who sent him a message last week that something has been troubling him. When he returned to fort Imma, which is where he spent most of his childhood, he found that his father has disappeared. This isn’t unusual as they could spend months on the hunt but something about that message worries Bonfire. Now he is chasing any leads in the fort, hoping that this mission from Commander Landgrave will help give him an idea on what his father has been caught up in this time.
Name: Fable Race: Tiefling (Winged, if allowed) Class and Subclass: Bard (Spirits) 3/Warlock (Celestial 2) Background: Far Traveler Backstory (brief): Fable was born to a half-elven mother and an unknown father. Her early childhood was normal enough, and she always took a particular interest in stories and tales told by those who had traveled far. Her life took a turn for the worse when she was seven. Her horns and wings began to grow in then. When her mother saw, she kicked Fable out. For a while, Fable traveled. She went from city to city, always being kicked or chased out, as apparently her species was in exile. She did make a point in each city to gather all of the local stories that she could. She even joined a caravan briefly that had a person like her, a tiefling, whose name was Wayfarer. He explained that the name she had had before wasn’t true to her tiefling nature, and suggested she choose a virtue name. She eventually ended up in a mountain range, which she thought to be safe enough. She reflected on her life while there, and determined that her name is Fable. One day, she saw a desert over the peaks of mountains. When she moved to see it better, she ended up in the middle of a rockslide. She should have died there, but something forced her wings to expedite their growth. In an instant she had two fully-functioning wings, both covered in crow’s feathers. Those wings saved her, though once she ended up at the bottom of the mountains she still had a long trek to make. She didn’t know it, but she had been saved by another being. That being wanted her to act as it’s orator, and as her natural inclination was to tell stories, she would unknowingly oblige. She walked until she found the hobgoblin camps in the Bloodsands, where she had ended up after the rockslide. She was never truly accepted by the hobgoblins, but she had enough allies to survive for years in the desert. Eventually, she was lucky enough to spot a ship on the shore, one there for research, but she managed to stowaway until the ship stopped to resupply in Fort Imma. What are you doing in Fort Imma?: Having hopped off the ship here, she now wants to reintroduce herself to society, especially with all of the stories she has to tell. Ability scores: (Forgot to reroll ones but that would only have affected the 11)
Backstory (brief): Pyre never knew her family. She has vague memories of her mother that have all but faded away, but the only proof that she ever existed is in a smooth, polished stone, etched with a complex rune. She grew up on the coastal streets of Talith, learning to steal, run and hide from various mentors who disappeared. Over time, she learned that the stone her mother gave her seemed to protect her from unwanted eyes...
What are you doing in Fort Imma?: A group of bandits stole the stone and she tracked them to Fort Imma. However, now that she's here, Pyre has lost their trail...

Thank you for all the amazing character ideas! I got a much bigger response than I was expecting, and I'm thank you for all the compliments on Augera as a setting, I've been adding little bits here and there for years.
I have now contacted all the chosen players, so check your inboxes! For those of you who missed out, perhaps in time I'll run another campaign - there's more than one continent on Torosevia. There are definitely a couple of characters who only just didn't make it this time that I'd love to play with at some point, so who knows.
