Walt leans down and whispers back, "Ill try to keep them occupied."
He walks over towards Kasem and Madam Kulp in a round about path, attempting to keep keep their focus. He admires the fine silks on display and sparks conversation with the two of them.
"Mr. Kasem, I do thank you for bringing us to Madam Kulp's Silk shop," exclaims Walt in a voice slightly louder normal. "Such beeeeeauuteeful specimen's of such fine silks."
"One thought has crossed my mind, "Walt pauses briefly and let's out a loud wet cough to clear his voice,"..excuse me. Pardon me. Ah hem...where was I? Ah, yes. Mr. Kasem and Madam Kulp, I do notice that the fine materials that Mr. Kasem Aroon's beautiful and finely crafted shirt resemble some of the qualities as the fine silks on display in your shop."
"Did you and Mr. Kasem..."Walt pauses briefly, searching for the proper word choice, "uh...as the young folk would say, collab on the design of his fine attire?"
Walt turns towards them and smiles, eyes wide open in anticipation of their reply.

Kasem and Madam Kulp both look down at Kasem's shirt (flashy and green with a high collar and gold filigree trim designed to look like hot peppers) and smile at Walt's remarks. "No, too spicy for my work!" laughs Madam Kulp. Kasem briefly explains where and how he and his brother had their shirts made – in a settlement known as the "Outer Edges" a mile or so away from the market.
While the three discuss tailoring, Knicknack takes a peek behind Madam Kulp's low counter. She doesn't see much of interest before Madam Kulp spots her and shoos her away. She mutters in Maynah,
"Stay out, you little scrounger!"
Kasem moves the party toward his next stop. On the way, they pass Xungoon Family Seafood. Kasem points them out but doesn't approach. You can see Kusa, the kobold vendor you met earlier, together with her son Gammon and other employees, serving a crowd of customers plates of fresh fish.
Passing through a large throughway, you can see three large golden tents in the center of the market. Crowds are beginning to be drawn in that direction.
Spicy Brothers is straight ahead, on the northwest arc of the market. You see what must be Kasem's brother, wearing a similar, red outfit, and their assistants. Their stall sells spices, peppers, and spicy dishes like cucumber fire smoothies and honey-glazed hot chips for 5 sp each. "Let me introduce you to my brother, Vi," begins Kasem.
As the party follows Kasem on the tour, Walt stays close to their guide and uses lulls in the conversation to ask questions in hopes of garnering some information. Before the group passes Xungoon Family Seafood, Walk questions Kasem regarding his family history at the market.
"Mr. Kasem, though I've lived at the Citadel for some time now, and I frequent the Market on a regular occasion, I cannot recall paying a visit to your stall."Walt rubs his chin while trying to jog his memory of their shop, but cant recall anything before continuing on , "but I do love me some spicy food and I wish I would have found out about your shop sooner!"
"So, how long has your family maintained a stall in the Night Market? How did your family find themselves here at the Radiant Citadel? I do love learning of how all the wonderful inhabitants found their way to this magnificent place."
Walt listens intently as Kasem speaks. He focuses in on his body language, word choice and gestures hoping to discern if there's more to the story.

Later on in the tour as the party passes Xungoon Family Seafood, Walt slows his pace a bit so that he's a step or two behind Kasem. Walt take's a mental note of the location.
As walk looks towards Kusa's shop, he would like to make a perception check to see if he can spot produce bins or storage in the kitchen or around the stall. He's also looking at the state of their market stall. Is it a humble, simple design or does have ornate decor? Perception check: 24
Walt would relay any useful information to Knicknack before rejoining Kasem.

Knicknack jabbers away in Maynah with a big, unapologetic smile on her face. You can hear her say 'Kulp', 'Tyenmo', and 'Xungoon'.
She lingers behind to hear any reply and will afterwards race after the group. She will give the Xungoon stall a critical eye, but she will stick with the group.

"We were born in Siabsungkoh," replies Kasem to Walt as they walk. "We've been running this shop since our dad died eight years ago."
Walt doesn't detect any attempts to be cagey here. Kasem seems to be honestly reporting.
Walt also examines Xungoon Family Seafood from afar as they pass. It does seem rather fancy, with a lot of flashy but tasteful decor. He can't see too much of the food preparation area, but he does see cabinets and surfaces where food is being cooked. They seem to be doing good business.
Meanwhile Madam Kulp dismisses Knicknack from her shop.
"I'm not speaking to you right now. Go wash your hair – it's filthy. You're going to hurt my business hanging around here."
The party continues on to the Spicy Brothers stall. They are also doing business. Kasem's brother Vi, a twin by the looks of him, is holding court with their customers. Although they look nearly identical, Vi seems to be the charismatic one, in comparison.
"Hellllllo, friends! Welcome to Spicy Brothers!" booms Vi. "I'm so glad my brother brought you here! What can I interest you in today? Honey-glazed hot chips? Cucumber fire smoothies? Or some of our Skull-Face Peppers?"
Rycroft tries to break away quietly as Vi holds the attention of all around, and sneak around the back of the Seafood stall. Perhaps he can find some evidence of misdeeds up close and hidden from street view.

Walt walks in to the Spicy Brothers shop and greets Vi with a hearty handshake and says “So good to meet you, good sir. I have very much enjoyed Kasem’s tour of the night market thus far.”
Walt looks towards Kasem and tips his hat before turning his focus back towards Vi.
“I must say, that fire smoothie sure sounds interesting. Cucumbers are a rarity where I come from and I do enjoy them very much. How much for one of those?”

Kasem shakes his head in disagreement. "Don't bother. It's a vapid tradition created to provide cheap thrills. I'll see if I can find you a skull pepper."
In a quiet aside, Ki snaps at Kasem in Maynah (only Knicknack can understand):
"Stop it, Kasem. We're done fighting."
Ki hands Walt a small sample of cucumber fire smoothie for him to try. (It's 1 sp for a full glass.) Meanwhile, Kasem excuses himself to look for a pepper.
Knicknack observes the whole scene. The Spicy Brothers do a very good business here - there is a constant line of customers, some of them listening in on Ki's conversation with a slightly star-struck smile, as though he were a minor celebrity here.
Meanwhile, Tuuli helps Rycroft sneak off to examine Xungoon Family Seafood. They, too, are doing very good business. The decor is fancy, the prices are a little steep, but the food looks quite palatable, even if some of the items on the menu (fresh wailing slug, diamond-throated carp, shimmering vampire fish) look a little challenging. (Rycroft: make a perception check to look for any more.)
Kasem returns with half of a black-colored pepper which he holds up wearing a thin glove. "Skull-Face pepper," he tells Walt. "VERY hot. I don't recommend sampling it."

Walt takes this odd looking smoothie and gives it a cautious sniff. At first he smells the cool refreshing scent of cucumber, and then he feels the burn of the spice. ”Ahhh that smells amazing. Alright now, down the hatch!”
