Hey everyone! It's me, Ru. I doubt anyone will recognize me, but I used to be super active until I had my baby. My baby is now 2 years old and I can get away with posting. I am looking for something that isn't incredibly fast paced, but also doesn't drag out. Because I have a baby, it means some days I won't be able to post at all, but I will always be sure to let you know when those days are coming. My goals for myself are to post once a day (or more!) and to write a fun story with 1 or 2 other people. For your reference, I am in Eastern Time (New York time zone).
To say more about me, I have DM'd over 15 years, I mostly DM for children and manage a West Marches discord server for a year now. I enjoy talking about horror games, Pokémon, Baldur's Gate 3, and sometimes find time to watch anime. Otherwise, I love to read teen books (half because I want to and half for work reasons) and am aspiring to write 5e content... someday. I am in my 30s and am an enby (nonbinary).
What I am looking for
I am looking for 1 or 2 other people to play with. With only 1-2 players, I hope this means the story will progress fairly quickly and that you will get the chance to feel like a main character in a story. For that reason, I am looking for players who are comfortable with taking definitive action (so no audience member-type players, sorry) and player characters who are well defined and have clear goals. I will ask that players applying take one of the personal goals I list below and incorporate it into your backstory. You don't have to, but my preference will be for a backstory that ties into Phandelver.
I am looking for adults only (sorry teens) as well. This is just so when we OOC, I can talk about old people thing like having kids, the cost of all these damn books, and yelling at rain clouds. I do have a few fandoms I'm involved in and I enjoy playing videogames, so if you are geeky in that respect, we will get along just fine.
Otherwise, please be chill, respectful of queer people, and understand life happens.
About the game
This is Lost Mine of Phandelver + Dragon of Icespire Peak. I am open to accepting anyone, regardless of if you have played through this adventure or not. I might include 3rd party content to add more to the world or homebrew things.
Few players? But how will combat be fair? This game will have recruitable NPCs that will act as your sidekicks and will be roleplayed by me, but controlled by you in combat. The NPCs available to choose from will not be the ones that come with Dragonspire Peak, and instead will be the NPCs you normally encounter in the town as well as a few I sprinkle in myself. Sidekicks can range from enemies you befriended, beasts you tamed, or that random NPC I made up that you won't shut up about. You simply need to ask them to join your party and they probably will if they like you enough. When possible, you can choose what sidekick statblock will be associated with your Sidekick NPCs, but some of them will be assigned by me because the NPC is clearly a spellcaster, roguish character, or similar circumstances.
What about character creation? We are starting at level 1, using point buy, and 1 free feat at level 1. Each ASI you can have a feat and a stat improvement. Races I'm accepting are from player's handbook + changelings + races from Van Richten's, no others. Variant human allowed, but custom origin is not. Class restrictions are simply no artificers or Critical Role's gunslinger, blood hunter, or echo knight. No dipping hexblade! Multiclassing is allowed, of course, but we will have to have in story reasons why your character suddenly has xyz powers. You can have any background except the backgrounds specific to other settings (Eberron, Ravnica, Strixhaven to name a few).
The character you present me must have a personal goal to achieve in Phandalin. I am supplying reasons below which were taken from the premade character sheets + my brain. You do not need to use these goals word for word -- feel free to remix them as suits you in your application.
Personal Goals
Drive Off the Dragon. (Must include in backstory that your parents were from Thundertree.)
The ruins of Thundertree call to you. Your family and their friends once lived in prosperity there, and now they’re reduced to menial labor. The ruins are haunted by ash zombies, and rumor has it a dragon has made its lair in the Old Tower, but those are problems a hero can solve. Slay the dragon, or drive it off, and you’ll prove—to yourself and everyone else—you’re a real hero, destined for greatness.
Reconsecrate the Defiled Altar. (Must primarily worship Oghma, being a cleric not required.)
Through visions delivered in your trances, your god has called you to a new mission. A goblin tribe has made its lair in an ancient ruin now called Cragmaw Castle, where they have defiled a shrine once sacred to Oghma. Now dedicated to the vile goblin god Maglubiyet, the altar is an offense to Oghma that must not stand.
You’re sure Oghma has greater things in store for you if you can complete this quest. In the meantime, your visions suggest that Sister Garaele—a priest of Tymora, the goddess of luck—can aid you in the town of Phandalin.
Get Your Revenge on a Redbrand. (Must include in backstory that you were a member of the Redbrands, which are criminals, or that you had criminal dealings with Redbrands.)
Someone in the Redbrands nearly got you killed, and you sure would like to know who it was. And then you’d like to take your revenge—on that person, on Glasstaff, maybe on all the Redbrands. And you just got a tip that might help you: someone named Halia Thornton also has it out for the Redbrands. She lives in Phandalin, which means showing your face to the Redbrands who still want you dead.
Civilize Phandalin. (Must be a noble or character that believes they are owed power.)
You were meant for more than being a ruler of nothing at all. Rebuilding Corlinn Hill is impractical, thanks to the volcano. But in the last three or four years, hardy settlers have been rebuilding another ruin near the city: the old town of Phandalin, which orcs sacked five centuries ago. Clearly, what Phandalin needs now is a civilizing influence—someone to take the reins and bring law and order. Someone like you.
You’re not the only one with such ideas. A knight named Sildar Hallwinter recently set out for Phandalin in the company of a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker. They plan to reclaim an ancient mine and restore Phandalin to a civilized center of wealth and prosperity. Since your goals align, Hallwinter should be willing to assist you.
Reclaim Your Ancestral Manor.(Anyone could take this.)
One way or another, you found out recently that you are a long lost descendent of the Tresendars. Perhaps you were called in by a dying and distant relative who has given you the deed to Tresendar Manor, which is located in Phandalin. With not much else to lose, you decide to go and reclaim the manor. Your reasons are your own for why you might do this.
Recover something precious that you lost. (Must be a villager of some kind.)
In an orc attack, you lost something precious. It could be a magic item of some kind or another heirloom. Regardless, the orcs who raided your village stole it as they sacked your village. You recently learned that this specific band of orcs have been seen marauding around Phandalin. You hope you can recover the item before it slips through your grasp again.
Hunt the Monster. (Anyone)
You are on the hunt for a specific creature (of your choosing). This creature was last seen lurking in the Phandalin area. For your own reasons, you seek to slay this creature.

About myself: I look for games that value more RP than dice rolling, nothing wrong with dice rolling though, and I would love to be able to finish LMoP. I like to put myself in the shoes of my character. Time Zone: Eastern Standard, NY One-on-One or Duet: I am perfectly fine. For me, it means that the game moves faster.

He also found that he had a affinity with magic, so he learned to wield arcane power while being adept at using a weapon at the same time. Personal Goal: Reconsecrate the Defiled Altar

Greeting to all, sorry, I was busy typing my info, and I didn't realize forum is getting busy. From the messages flying around, this looks like it's going to be a fun DM running a fun campaign.
Do we have an ETA for finding out when the party has been selected, and if our character have been selected? Thanks.
Also, just wanted to add that I am in DnD Beyond pretty much all the time, so I am a fairly reliable poster.

About myself: I've been doing PbP for over a decade in one form or another both as DM and as a player. At the moment I am stuck in the loop of 'always the DM, never the player' so would love the chance at a game! Time Zone: Eastern Standard One-on-One or Duet: I would prefer a Duet I think just for the group dynamic but am fine with one on one as well
Character Name: Jerid Race: Half-Elf Starting Class: Rogue (Swashbuckler) -> Eventually multi into Hexblade (not just a dip) to get the power for vengeance Background: Urchin
Bonus Feat: Observant Backstory: Jerid grew up on the streets of Neverwinter, though he was not exactly an orphan. His father was a human thief that was in trouble with the law more than not and his mother an elven adventurer that was drawn away by the call of the road until she eventually never returned. With his father as the only parent to look up to, Jerid naturally fell into a rougher sort of crowd and had his own scuffles with the law now and then until he eventually joined a fledgling gang of like minded youths in the city. He preferred the easier work, the pick pocket in the market, the quick smash and grab of a merchant stall and for him it was more about survival than wanting to steal or break the law.
Eventually his crew grew bolder and they were convinced by one of the older, tougher boys to break into a merchants shop. Convinced by force and threats, but they all agreed eventually. The job went bad. Guards showed up, a fire was set as a distraction and the older boy that had arranged it all used it to flee while leaving everyone else to fend for themselves. Half of Jerid's group perished in the fire while most of the rest were caught by the guards to eventually face justice while only a handful escaped. Jerid and the others made a pact to find the boy that had caused the fire, but he had fled the city.
A couple of years have gone by and Jerid has been trying to be on the better side of the law, but things are still tough. He received boy, now a man, that he is looking for had taken up with a new gang called the Redbrands and where they were. The rest of the survivors had forgotten the pact but Jerid would not let himself took off after news of the Redbrands.
I am thinking that my character is a young rugged bladsinger. He's missing an eye (left), and also part of his left ear was chopped off in the past. Maybe the pic below might give a good idea.

Ru, really interested in the concept of just 1-2 players and NPC interaction. Familiar with LMoP, but never played and have not played Dragon of Icespire either. Very interested in the opportunity.
A couple sentences about you as a player and what you are looking for in a game: I have been playing off and on for years but only discovered the PbP forums within the last few years. I like all three pillars of the game and like the opportunity to RP and solve puzzles and challenges without automatically going to combat. But who doesn’t like a good old-fashioned combat every now and then as well.
Your time zone: EST
Are you comfortable with a duet or do you prefer to play with at least 1 other player character? I would prefer to play with at least 1 other character. Excited to explore the dynamics of small group and increased interaction with NPCs
Character Name: Alaric Belhorn
Race: Variant Human
Starting Class: Bard
Starting Feat: Actor(VHuman) and Prodigy
Background: (name of the background) Charlatan
Backstory: Alaric was born to a medium-sized family outside of Phandalin, but quickly grew tired of the hard work of farming and wood cutting, more interested in the stories and tales of the heroes of old. He ran away from home as a teenager, following a bard that had passed through town. He eventually convinced the bard to take him on as an apprentice and he spent most of his formative years in Neverwinter, learning the skills and talents of a juggler, actor, and bard, as well as those of a small-time con-man, gambler, and card shark. Still mesmerized by the tales and stories that now he tells of the heroes of old, he longs for adventure.
Personal Goal: Reconsecrate the Defiled Altar. A follower of Oghma, he has a dream of one day being a Companion of the Silver String in service to the god. He believes the visions he has of the defiled altar are the first test to prove himself worthy and start on the path to become a Companion. He has set out back home to meet with the good Sister Garaele to seek out aid for his quest.
About Me: I've also been away from the site for a long time and just looking to get back. I love writing, gaming, and RPing... they provide a much-needed escape from the mundane. Time Zone: Eastern Standard Time (EST) One-on-One or Duet: No problem, I'll take a game/campaign in any form 1:1, duet, or group makes no difference.
Character Name: Boosandei 'Boo' Belfrye Race: Dhampir Starting Class: Warlock Background: Urchin Backstory: One night at midnight Boo awoke buried in a grave and clawed her way out. She has no memories of her life before that. Personal Goal: Hunt the Monster Character Sheet: https://ddb.ac/characters/35791223/vYISnT
Hi, Ru, welcome back. You're right, I don't recognize you, but if role-playing is a pleasure for you, I'm glad you've managed to find the time to do it again!
A question about the campaign: will you activate content sharing? (Just to know if I will only have to use the content to which I have access or if I will have others available as well)
Anyway, I've never experienced a campaign with so few players, so I might be curious to try.
Form: A couple sentences about you as a player and what you are looking for in a game: I usually do not speak too much about my true self, because in my role-playing time I try above all to live my character. You know, I already live myself during the whole rest of the time... Your time zone: I can usually find time to post almost any time of day. (I just can't do it all the time, because that's not the only thing I do) Are you comfortable with a duet or do you prefer to play with at least 1 other player character? As I mentioned earlier, I've never experienced a campaign with so few players, no idea how it will be, neither duet nor with one more player. I am available to try the option you prefer, no particular preference.
Character Name: Khessa Cabbagefield Race: Human Starting Class: Fighter (will evolve as Fighter/Wizard and yes, there will be an explanation for this, an exlpanation that comes from her longer backstory, but here I choose to show the shorter one, not to inflict too much text on potentially not interested audience) Starting Feat: probably Alert Background: (name of the background) Folk Hero Backstory: Khessa was born to a peasant family, in a small village. At the age of 20 she is kidnapped, with her family, during a raid of drow slavers. With some luck she manages to free herself, along with some other slave from her village. After a a dangerous journey in the underground, during which she is forced on several occasions to defend herself in the hostile and unfamiliar environment (risking her life, but also honing her fighting skills), she manages to lead the slaves back to the surface. With her family still lost in drow hands, she becomes an adventurer; she will, when possible, help the defenseless (waiting to be able to help, some day, her family) and will satisfy the curiosity of the world that she had always had… Personal Goal: Since the most important thing for Khessa is to free her family, it would be nice to tie her personal goal to this ... For example: she may have learned that another prisoner of the drow who managed to free himself took refuge in Phandalin and her purpose may be to track him down to gather information. Or Khessa might be looking for an exchange of favors: to help someone - a person but perhaps also an organization - who has an interest in Phandalin and then get help (information? Military or magical support?) to free her family in return. Yes, I know, you already had come up with no less than seven goals... Couldn't I just pick one of those? Yes, maybe I could have, but my proposal seems more fun to me...
Include a picture if you would like to, but its not required. Well, I have one, but since it is not required I'll not add it at the moment. Something tells me you will not choose or reject Khessa on the basis of its appearance.
Hi Painted! Yes, I will campaign share. I own all DDB content aside from the TV show tie in starter sets and the currently released adventure anthology.

A couple sentences about you as a player and what you are looking for in a game: I am mostly a casual player but am looking to play in a more character heavy and rp oriented game. For the most part I am looking to have a good time and meet good people so that we can tell a story in the world and of the characters.
Your time zone: EST
Are you comfortable with a duet or do you prefer to play with at least 1 other player character?: I am comfortable with both but foe the most part would rather have a small to mid size party. Character Name: Siobhan Ylevonel
Race: Half Elf (Drow)
Starting Class: Rogue (Possibly Swashbuckler or Arcane Trickster for the subclass)
Starting Feat: Observant
Background: Criminal Spy
Backstory: Siobhan was born and raised in the seedy Port city of Luskan, the child of a drow mercenary of Bregan Daerthe and a human woman. Due to her mother passing away during child birth Siobhan was loosely raised by her father through a woman he paid to take care of her. Being raised in a city of Pirates and thieves of all types, it was only natural that the young half elf picked up the skills of the trade. It was not long until her father took her under his wing to continue her training.
As was to be expected her father was a hard teacher and did not tolerate mistakes, causing the young half elf to learn quickly. As she grew into adulthood her father began to put her to work on various jobs throughout the city, including dealing with various criminal groups that were based both in and out of Luskan. One such group was a small band that called themselves the Redbrands. Unfortunately this deal did not go in their favor as the group stole from one of the groups she did work for and she was the one to take the fall.
Forced to flee Luskan in order to not find a blade or arrow in her back, Siobhan did her best to track the Redbrands and attempt to get back what they stole or if not then to find a place to fade away in order to not be found.
Personal Goal: Get Your Revenge on a Redbrand.
Include a picture if you would like to, but its not require
I don't know who you are, but welcome back! The thought of playing a campaign with so few people is both a new and intriguing concept, so I'll throw my hat in the ring.
Form: A couple sentences about you as a player and what you are looking for in a game: I’ve played D&D since around 2017, typically DMing for my family. I recently got into PBP last year and have been having a blast. More than anything, I love seeing how my own and other characters grow over the course of the campaign. What continues to draw me to D&D is the collaborative storytelling, so seeing how my character affects others and vice versa is always a treat.

Character Name: Alakazam Race: Changeling Starting Class: Warlock (Archfey) Starting Feat: Actor Background: Entertainer Backstory:
My name is _____, the aspiring magician. With my attempts at magic, I intend to make a name for myself and become forever remembered as one of the great entertainers. I travel from town to town, spreading my name and building my experience.
My name is _____, the lover. With my effort and much luck, I have started a relationship with one that is called Arabelle. A love that has been tempered by passion and trust, she is my assistant and my everything. I hope to one day start a family with her.
My name is _____, the tragedy. With my tears overflowing and her defiled body in my arms, I mourn the murder of Arabelle. I feel the despair overtake my body and its transformation into anger.
My name is _____, the beneficiary. With my desperation and blood, I forged a deal with an archfey to learn about true magic. I have given him my true form and name as payment.
My name is Alakazam, the masked magician. With my feats of magic, I hope to instill a sense of wonder in my audience. I remind them that despite the harshness of reality, life still has its points of beauty and joy.
My name is Alakazam, the masked assassin. With my magic and cunning, I will become the stuff of nightmares to evildoers. I excise the cancers of the world that would rob people of their wonder and opportunity.
Personal Goal: Get your revenge on a Redbrand (w/ adjustment: Alakazam is not a part of the Redbrands, but has discovered they had a hand in his lover's death. He seeks vengeance.)

A couple sentences about you as a player and what you are looking for in a game: Hello, Ru. I don't think we've played together before. It's nice to meet you. I'm a 40+ nerd who only got into D&D a few years ago between Critical Role's first and second campaigns. Before jumping heavily into DnDBeyond, (back in the day) I used to write in a pbp style about Robotech and superheroes using Prodigy, IBM's version of AOL. Anyway, I don't get on every day (though the more interesting the campaign, the more the draw will be to make the time every day), so I'm also looking for something not too hot and heavy. I'm not a big fan of puzzles; I prefer action and roleplay. I'm an editor, so I love complete sentences, proper grammar, and clever punctuation (all the while knowing that typos exist and usually crop up at the most embarrassing times). The description of how you're going to run the campaign really intrigues me. I have DMed Lost Mines of Phandelver and played a little of Dragon of Icespire Peak, FWIW.
Your time zone: EST
Are you comfortable with a duet or do you prefer to play with at least 1 other player character? I have done a couple of 1-on-1 campaigns pbp (where I was the player). I liked them a lot, but they never lasted. One of them, I played brothers, which was fun because it gave me an opportunity to write a lot of character-building conversation in a lot of the non-combat posts.
Character Name: Not sure, but I think I'd like to play a relative of the Rockseeker brothers. I have a thing for Dwarves. Perhaps a cousin. But I'd like their family name to be Rockseeker.
Race: Dwarf, of course
Starting Class: Not sure. Something martial. Maybe barbarian. Maybe a rogue. Maybe he's off to Phandelver to find his cousins because he keeps getting in trouble with the clan because he keeps stealing things. Or breaking things.
Starting Feat: Maybe charger. Maybe lucky. Maybe savage attacker.
Background: Probably clan crafter or guild artisan. Maybe gambler.
Backstory: Ok, let me pick one. So ... Lukhock Rockseeker. He's one of the proud Rockseeker Clan of Sorrolk. The Rockseekers are industrious, but they're the keep-your-head-down type. They do their duty and never make waves. They're rule-followers. They're "the crowd" — they blend in. Except for Lukhock. He gets bored. He's cunning. He keeps his eyes open, knows how to read people, and realized at a fairly young age that he has a natural talent for taking advantage of the gullible and otherwise general masses. Why work long and hard when you can convince someone to do the work for your or — better yet — talk them out of their hard-earned gold? But he's still learning, and he gets caught. A lot. He's driving his clan crazy. They don't understand him, and the feeling is mutual. During one of his father's rantings, Lukhock is contrasted with those three famous Rockseeker brothers — Gundren, Tharden and Nundro — who have always been the good Rockseekers they were raised to be. Lukhock has heard of the brothers before, but this awakens a real curiosity in him, so he starts asking around about the trio. Through bits and pieces of information from this person and another, he learns that they are in Neverwinter. In talking with the others about the brothers, Lukhock begins to idolize them — not in the way the rest of the clan reveres them. He sees them as brave revolutionaries who rose up out of the quagmire that is being a Rockseeker to become adventurers, world travelers, and treasure hunters! It isn't long before he has packed his things, said good-bye, and set off for Neverwinter to find his cousins.
Personal Goal: To meet up with the Rockseeker brothers, and to use this new beginning as an opportunity to become the dwarf he is supposed to be without the rest of the clan looking down their huge noses at him!
A couple sentences about you as a player and what you are looking for in a game: I've played D&D since... I mean, not as long as you have, though not for a super short time either. I want to say... 6ish years? Of course, since I can't just do things in small doses, I've allowed it to up and consume my entire life. It is what it is. My playing style is... I mean, kind of all over the place, unlike my DMing style. I'm very much into the weird and uncanny, so I typically end up tying stuff like that into my character concepts(we'll see if this one ends up there), but I'm really up for anything. Most of the time I allow my playing style to be dictated by the game itself. So, in a similar vein, what I'm looking for in a game is just a place where everyone involved can be comfortable and have fun with whatever fits them! Your time zone: PST Are you comfortable with a duet or do you prefer to play with at least 1 other player character? As stated above, I'm good with whatever. I've never been in a duet before, which I think could be really fun, though a two-player pairing could also be great. If you think my character and another would work great together, then great! If not, then also great! All assuming I'm selected, that is. That was a really long way of saying it's your choice :P
Character Name: P. T. (he/they) Race: Human Starting Class: Rogue (going Arcane Trickster) Starting Feat: Dual Wielder Background: Urchin Backstory:
P.T. never knew his family. This is not particularly surprising, considering most of Neverwinter's Urchins never did. However, P.T. was different from the others in that he actually had a clue. When they were deposited on the streets all those many years ago, forgotten in some cold alley, they were wrapped in a very particular article of clothing: a noble's coat, with a house symbol sewn on the chest. The letters "P.T." were embroidered on the inside of the neck, from which he took his name. They weren't particularly concerned with this for the earlier part of their life, however. The threats of starvation and freezing were far more pressing.
As he grew, P.T. became better and better at making a life for himself in the shadows, subsequently making a bigger and bigger name for himself among Neverwinter's street gangs. He eventually joined up with a group called the Ampitheatres. The name wasn't derived from any particular building, it just sounded nice and was the biggest word that Specs, the gang's unspoken leader, knew. Within a year, he had displaced Specs and was known throughout the city's juvenile underworld. Legends of the Urchin Prince abounded, and he leaned into them. He claimed that they were the long-lost son of an ancient line of kings, sent to Neverwinter to prove their mettle. Never mind that they weren't even capable of walking in those first years, and had to be cared for by the other children.
Eventually, he began his graduation from the world of adolescent criminals to that of adults. He wasn't stealing fruits from costermongers, he was threatening said costermongers for money. Rather than dodging child catchers, who would snatch up street urchins and place them in the squalid prisons they liked to call orphanages, they were dodging constables, who would place him in actual prison if they caught them. Encounters were far less adventurous, and far more deadly. More than once, he did not walk away from a robbery without a little blood on his hands, either from himself or from his victim. He never killed anyone, though. Until they did.
He was an old fellow, bespectacled and tottering. Under his arm he held a thick, black leather case. From his attire and the way he carried himself, he was very clearly wealthy. When P.T. cornered him in an alley, holding his knife to the old man's throat, they expected things to go smoothly. Needless to say, they did not. The man began mumbling words, and mystical sparks began to leak from his fingers. In a panic, P.T. pushed him, causing him to stumble and fall. There was a muffled snap, and a cough that splattered blood against P.T.'s leg. When they leaned down, the old man was attempting to mouth words. His eyes fixed on P.T.'s chest, where the insignia still sat, after so many years. He croaked out one word, "Tresendar," then promptly died.
Inside the case was a large leather-bound tome, the contents of which made P.T.'s brain do somersaults. Along with it was a letter addressed to one Mr. Alagondar, King of Neverwinter. It explained that the old man was Eliot Tresendar, the last surviving member of the noble family. His family had all long since died off, and a lump in his side that had rapidly ballooned out of control spelled out a quick-approaching death for him. The letter contained the deed to the last remaining holding of the family: the Tresendar family manor. It was to be returned to the King upon the death of the family's last remaining member.
Sealing the letter was the exact same insignia on P.T.'s chest.
They put two and two together, and came to the conclusion that maybe, just maybe, the rumors of the Urchin Prince weren't all that unfounded after all. At least, he had enough evidence to possibly convince a court of law. He has always lived in Neverwinter, but it hadn't been his home. Here was an opportunity to claim that. A shame that it came at the cost of Eliot's life, but he was bound for the Fugue Plane soon enough anyways. At least, that's what P.T. tried to tell himself, though he didn't entirely believe it.
With an indecipherable spellbook in his hand and a few meager supplies, P.T. set out for a new life. He wasn't sure what trials it might bring, but it was better than a life of crime in Neverwinter, that's for sure.
Personal Goal: P.T. wants to learn about his past, and figure out just where he belongs. He's lived a sort of half-life all his life, and now he's finally got an opportunity to truly know himself. He wants to find the manor he believes to be his, at least technically, and he wants to finally make it into something he can call a home. He want to delve into history, and figure out just what happened to the Tresendars to leave Eliot the last surviving one.

About Me
Hey everyone!
Clearly, what Phandalin needs now is a civilizing influence—someone to take the
reins and bring law and order.
Reclaim Your Ancestral Manor. (Anyone could take this.)

One-on-One or Duet: I am perfectly fine. For me, it means that the game moves faster.
Character Name: Belea

Greeting to all, sorry, I was busy typing my info, and I didn't realize forum is getting busy. From the messages flying around, this looks like it's going to be a fun DM running a fun campaign.
Do we have an ETA for finding out when the party has been selected, and if our character have been selected? Thanks.
Also, just wanted to add that I am in DnD Beyond pretty much all the time, so I am a fairly reliable poster.

Sounds great.
About myself: I've been doing PbP for over a decade in one form or another both as DM and as a player. At the moment I am stuck in the loop of 'always the DM, never the player' so would love the chance at a game!
Time Zone: Eastern Standard
One-on-One or Duet: I would prefer a Duet I think just for the group dynamic but am fine with one on one as well
Character Name: Jerid
Race: Half-Elf
Starting Class: Rogue (Swashbuckler) -> Eventually multi into Hexblade (not just a dip) to get the power for vengeance
Background: Urchin
Bonus Feat: Observant
Backstory: Jerid grew up on the streets of Neverwinter, though he was not exactly an orphan.
Personal Goal: Get Revenge on a Redbrand

Time Zone: Eastern Standard Time (EST)
One-on-One or Duet: No problem, I'll take a game/campaign in any form 1:1, duet, or group makes no difference.
Character Name: Boosandei 'Boo' Belfrye
Race: Dhampir
Starting Class: Warlock
Background: Urchin
Backstory: One night at midnight Boo awoke buried in a grave and clawed her way out. She has no memories of her life before that.
Personal Goal: Hunt the Monster
Character Sheet: https://ddb.ac/characters/35791223/vYISnT
Hi, Ru, welcome back. You're right, I don't recognize you, but if role-playing is a pleasure for you, I'm glad you've managed to find the time to do it again!
A question about the campaign: will you activate content sharing? (Just to know if I will only have to use the content to which I have access or if I will have others available as well)
Anyway, I've never experienced a campaign with so few players, so I might be curious to try.
Form:
A couple sentences about you as a player and what you are looking for in a game: I usually do not speak too much about my true self, because in my role-playing time I try above all to live my character. You know, I already live myself during the whole rest of the time...
Your time zone: I can usually find time to post almost any time of day. (I just can't do it all the time, because that's not the only thing I do)
Are you comfortable with a duet or do you prefer to play with at least 1 other player character? As I mentioned earlier, I've never experienced a campaign with so few players, no idea how it will be, neither duet nor with one more player. I am available to try the option you prefer, no particular preference.
Character Name: Khessa Cabbagefield
Race: Human
Starting Class: Fighter (will evolve as Fighter/Wizard and yes, there will be an explanation for this, an exlpanation that comes from her longer backstory, but here I choose to show the shorter one, not to inflict too much text on potentially not interested audience)
Starting Feat: probably Alert
Background: (name of the background) Folk Hero
Backstory: Khessa was born to a peasant family, in a small village. With her family still lost in drow hands, she becomes an adventurer; she will, when possible, help the defenseless (waiting to be able to help, some day, her family) and will satisfy the curiosity of the world that she had always had…
Personal Goal: Since the most important thing for Khessa is to free her family, it would be nice to tie her personal goal to this ...

Great! Thanks for the quick reply 😀
I have done a duet game and had a lot of fun but unfortunately it was cut short due to the dm having to drop the game.

Kayassa Level 3 | Satyr | Warlock (Cleath13's LMoP)

Daerthe Narcion Level 4 | Drow | Rogue (Karmoli's Great Upheaval)
I don't know who you are, but welcome back! The thought of playing a campaign with so few people is both a new and intriguing concept, so I'll throw my hat in the ring.

A couple sentences about you as a player and what you are looking for in a game:
I’ve played D&D since around 2017, typically DMing for my family. I recently got into PBP last year and have been having a blast. More than anything, I love seeing how my own and other characters grow over the course of the campaign. What continues to draw me to D&D is the collaborative storytelling, so seeing how my character affects others and vice versa is always a treat.
Your time zone: PDT
Are you comfortable with a duet or do you prefer to play with at least 1 other player character?
I'm fine with either option.
Character Name: Alakazam
Race: Changeling
Starting Class: Warlock (Archfey)
Starting Feat: Actor
Background: Entertainer
Backstory:

A couple sentences about you as a player and what you are looking for in a game:
I've played D&D since...
Your time zone: PST
Are you comfortable with a duet or do you prefer to play with at least 1 other player character?
As stated above, I'm good with whatever. I've never been in a duet before, which I think could be really fun, though a two-player pairing could also be great. If you think my character and another would work great together, then great! If not, then also great! All assuming I'm selected, that is. That was a really long way of saying it's your choice :P
Character Name: P. T. (he/they)
Race: Human
Starting Class: Rogue (going Arcane Trickster)
Starting Feat: Dual Wielder
Background: Urchin
Backstory:
P.T. never knew his family.
Personal Goal:
P.T. wants to learn about his past, and figure out just where he belongs.
