Tandor smiles what he hopes is a disarming smile. "Of course, good lady. He did not mean to suggest anything else. I think he was asking about ingredients for potions and the like. Nothing nefarious, I'm sure." He samples the spicy mixture again.
"This is excellent. I'll take some of this and thanks," he says.
"quite so. apologies for the unmeant rudeness, i am a scholar by nature, which sadly hasn't left me time for social activities." Liber shows no offense. "but enough of such stressful topics, what manner of ingredients do you have?"
"Oh, ah humph, I'm sure. If you're an herbalist, I do have some items that would be of use, what is it you're trying to make, boy?"
((She'd be able to provide some of the raw materials to make a healing potion, the salve for a healing kit, or either incense or salve insect repellent, though she doesn't stock those items as part of her business.))
"It's five silver for the bottle, or two gold for a pound."
She points to small bottles that probably hold about an eighth of a pound.
Tandor carefully considers the two measures but the truth is a pound was far more than he would need. With a show of reluctance he puts the pound back and turns to the woman. "I'll give you 2 silvers for this bottle. It's a fine spice mixture but truthfully, I can get something similar back home for only 1 silver," he says.
"Two?!", she peers up at you. "San Citlán? There's some there that can mix decent enough spices, but they tend to go hard on the heat, and forget the flavor. I'd put mine head to head against anything from your homeland and be confident in which is going to be better. For two a bottle, I'm not even covering costs! And booth fees! You think they let vendors set up here for free? No, for two a bottle, this would be my last market, I'd be closing up shop tomorrow if I sold it to everyone at that price! Best I can do is four, and that's as much because you remind me of my first husband as any silver tongue you might have."

Tandor considers haggling further but they had a job to do. He puts on a defeated look, "Aye, good woman. Done at 4 and well struck." He hands over the money, takes his purchase and moves away.
"Peace, Dain; I understand your desire for haste, but if we want to sell the illusion that we aren't up to anything, we'd best visit at least one more food store before buying the brandy, as it were. Make it look like we're shopping for food rather than doing a sneaky drop off. How's about that fruit stand over there? Some of those even look a little magical, maybe, or at least delicious."
(ooc: i'm willing to skip actually going to the other stands if y'all don't want to rp that, but we still probably should do so.)
Mialee turns to Tandor.
"Good idea with the spices; fits with the Ataguan brandy."
"Good idea with the spices; fits with the Ataguan brandy."
Tandor turns to Dain, about to remind him they were supposed to visit some shops before and after but doesn't say anything as Mialee handled it well. Instead, he responds to her, "Thanks. I think you're right."
The fruit seems a bit spotty, and the vendor seems a little too eager to sell, so you move onward to "Potent Potables". A kobold patron finishes their purchasing, and departs, leaving the two merchants at your disposal while they tidy and dust.

Tandor smiles at the merchants and moves around the shop some, looking at the various offering, before moving up to Master Bretae as soon as the other will be close enough to here. "Hi. I'm a bit of a chef and I am looking for some Ataguan Chocolate Brandy to try in a new recipe I'm working on. Do you have any?"
"Ah, as much as I'd like to say I do, I am out of stock at the moment and likely will be for a while. I do have some cask aged Ataguan brandy... no chocolate, but if you have other ways of adding that to your recipe, it might get you close?"

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mialee tries to surreptitiously scan the assistant and identify if they are someone she knows in the criminal underworld or part of some well known group.
Roll: 11
(depending on what roll you want I can give the proper bonus, or you can pull it from my sheet)
Dain huffs a bit, but shrugs. "Seems like a waste of time to me." He offers as he trudges along with the others to the fruit stall and then on to their destination. He stays in the background as they ask about the brandy, content to just keep his eyes open for anything out of the norm, while the others talk to the shop owner. (Yep, knew we were suppose to stop at shops before and after, but Dain just wants the package out of their hands as quick as may be, so there is no chance of it getting stolen before the task is done. His level of patience for this sort of thing is quite low.)
"I'll not breach the cask just to sample, but I do have an opened bottle from the same lot. Can't really get the nuances without at least a half ounce pour, but unfortunately, I couldn't afford to just hand out shots for free. Half gold for a measured pour, though there's no charge to smell the quality."
Mialee doesn't recognize the assistant as anyone that is familiar to her, nor does she have any markings that would signify her as such.
Liber sees all manner of wines, spirits and other bottled or barreled consumables of an alcoholic nature.
