I'm new to the PbP world, only being active in one campaign so far, but I'm a seasoned DM with a love of writing, and I would love to get involved in DMing a PbP Strixhaven group set in Sharn's Morgrave University!
I'm looking for up to four players with a desire to post at least once per day! You can count on me to supply all kinds of details: all of my IRL games have taught me that improv is important, and reasonable improv that makes sense is worth its air-time in gold. I love Eberron, and my longest-running campaign is set in Eberron and has been going on for almost two years now. I'm looking for thoughtful players, people who like to take their time in the setting and examine their surroundings. I want people who like to write, and who don't mind spending a little time doing so.
So, to my prospective players, please send me a DM including answers to the following questions:
1.) What kind of character do you want to play? (What are their strengths & weaknesses, their likes & dislikes, their ideals, etc.) 2.) How familiar with Eberron are you? (I'm confident that I [along with others in our cohort] will be able to bring you up to speed, so don't worry about it if you know nothing about Eberron.) 3.) What kinds of games do you like to play (i.e. Mystery, Action, Adventure, etc.)? 4.) Do you have any triggers that you'd like to make sure aren't in the game?
Applications for this campaign will be open until September 18th, 2022 at 12pm EST. I look forward to hearing from y'all. :)
Greetings! My name is KC it would be an honor to join your campaign!
1.) I want to play an order of scribes wizard that has an unhealthy obsession with collecting knowledge and spells, they suffer from PTSD due to an accident in their past that I'd love to talk to you about more, I am excited for the character possible development. 2.) I am not familiar with Eberron but I am a very fast learner. 3.) I love mystery, adventure, action, all of it!! I go where the interesting story takes me. 4.) No triggers to mention.
Excited to be a part of this!! My discord is KC27letsgo#5903
Hello. I'm DJ, and I would be very interested in joining. To answer your questions:
1. I would like to play a dragonborn paladin. He is brave to the point of reckless, loves his god/goddess (willing to work with you on which domain) and is not one for over-thinking things.
2. I know very little about Eberron. I've done some research, but not very in-depth.
3. I love a good mystery, horror, political intrigue, adventure and battle, puzzles, social roleplay, etc. I'm not picky. It's your story, after all.
4. Most people who claim to be "triggered" are just idiots with too much time on their hands. As long as we keep things reasonably civil, I'm good to go.
Please notify me if you wish me to roll the character and submit the details to you.
I wanted to clarify that content from Exploring Eberron is absolutely allowed and encouraged. You want to play a Living Weapon monk or a Mind cleric or a Duur'kala? I'm all for it. If you'd like to know more about the options presented in Exploring Eberron but don't have access to it (as it's not available through DnD Beyond), let me know and I'm happy to help you.
EDIT: I also want to clarify that, although we'll be starting with something noticeably Strixhaven, I'm happy to let the game go off the rails and explore the world with y'all. I set this in Eberron because I know it well: I've read most of the fiction about Eberron out there, and I've written my own fanfiction while DMing my main campaign. If y'all want to go do a thing that's not a Strixhaven thing, then that's fine by me.
4. Most people who claim to be "triggered" are just idiots with too much time on their hands. As long as we keep things reasonably civil, I'm good to go.
“Reasonably Civil”? Well if calling large amounts of people you do not know “idiots” is what you consider reasonable I think were working out of different dictionaries…

I agree! I want to establish a group in which each member can trust the others: where boundaries are clear and marked. I know some people don't see the need, but I do.
What I want is deep, empathic storytelling: a game in which we all participate in each other's stories, rather than just have us all be accessories to each others' growth.

Would the campaign take place in a thread in these forums, or be elsewhere like Discord?
Thanks to everyone for their interest! I've found four players, so I'm closing recruitment for this thread. Thanks, y'all!
