I understand, and I don't mean that you're out to get me or anything. I was a bit disappointed with not being able to sneak in, but I apologize for my reaction. It's a hard encounter by the look of it and I was hoping there was some way around the spiders. I'm sure between us and Sildar we can strategize and work something out though. Is there any check I can do to learn move about the statue with the emerald eyes? I feel like it seems like it may be important or the reason why he is in this room. But obviously I can't get in for a closer look.
The statue is beautifully carved, and its emerald eyes appear very valuable, though you do not recognize what the statue may depict.
"Never met a spider that couldn't be killed the old fashioned way. Were there a wizard among us I'd suggest we kill them with fire," Sildar replies. "If this really is the Black Spider in there, I'm not sure we should let the opportunity pass us up. I stand ready."
"I'm ready too. Whatever happens, I'll try to get a blade into the Drow's throat before he can get away. Does anyone else have any ideas past the rock distraction? I'm not sure it's a great plan but it's all I can think of." Roland asks.
I'm sure that it is a point of interest, but since Roland grew up quite wealthy I doubt the jewels have any major interest for him. I'll investigate them after the room is secure, but I'm sure the evil Drow mastermind and horde of giant spiders is much more immediately concerning for Roland at present.

Nemean stands tall and puffs out his chest. “Very well, we will fight him here and now.” He grips his scimitars “I can charge in and close distance with my feline agility, and I will do everything I can to incapacitate the Drow and give the rest of you an edge, I may be able to knock him down if we’re lucky. We’ll worry about him first and the spiders after, yes?”

Tochi, if he's close enough, responds: "Yes, take off the head, and the body will follow. We should kill the Drow first. I will do all that I can to ensure such an outcome".
"And everyone who has suffered at the hands of the Black Spider. Let's end this."
Roland draws his swords and sprints into the room, making a bee-line for the Drow, and (if he gets the chance) diving at him in a leap with both swords aimed at his target.
OOC: Assuming everyone is running with Roland, not sure who makes it into the room first.

Nemean charges forward with Roland and Tochi by his sides, he makes a beeline for the prominent Dark elf, moving silently at first, but as soon as he sees the Dark elf notice the intrusion, he lets out a bloodcurdling feline roar and surges forward.
(Using Feline agility to close distance with up to 60ft of movement, doing his best to avoid the spiders, hopefully that’s enough)
His eyes dart to the staff adorned with a spider. He raises his sword high, as if to disarm his foe, but at the last moment he lunges down at his targets leg instead, ducking low as he moves past his target, sweeping at his leg with his scimitar as he slides past.
(On the first attack that connects Nemean will use Trip Attack, I believe that any subsequent attacks could be made with advantage, but this is already a long post and I figure we can roll those if he even gets that far.)
Trip Attack
When you hit with a weapon attack, you can expend one superiority die to add the total to the damage roll, and if the target is Large or smaller, it must make a STR saving throw (DC 14). On failure, you knock the target prone.
Trip Attack: (No Action)
(WOW!... those rolls, NOT how I was hoping that would go...)

The silence of the cavern is broken by the sudden shrieking of two of the giant spiders as the charging party reaches the center of the room. The dark elf at the desk spins around, holding his staff forward.
The spiders rear back, launching webs from their maws. The thick gobs of silk strand fall behind Nemean and Roland, who are too quick, but catch Tochi and Sildar in mid-stride, holding them firmly in place on the ground. The dark elf moves his staff through the air, the spider-tipped head glowing a bright green as energy begins to shimmer around his form. "No, wait! Hold!" he shouts, desperately dodging and twisting through Nemean's vicious flurry. His shout turns to a gasp as Roland slips his sword into the drow's side. Blood begins to drip through his fingers now gripping his wound.
Round 1 Order: Enemies Players <===== Sildar
Placement: Nemean and Roland are engaged in melee combat with the dark elf. Tochi and Sildar are restrained by webbing 15 feet away. Two giant spiders are 5 feet away. One giant spider is 10 feet away from Tochi and Sildar, and 30 feet away from Nemean and Roland. One giant spider is 25 feet away from Tochi and Sildar, and 45 feet away from Nemean and Roland.
Tracking: Nemean, Roland, Tochi and Sildar are all lightly wounded. The dark elf is significantly wounded.
OOC: Before advancing to Sildar's turn, giving Tochi a chance to act on his turn now that he is restrained by webbing.

Roland attacks again, unwilling to listen to the Drow's reasoning. The images of the grizzly scenes of Cragmaw Castle still burned into his mind. "For the fallen!" he shouts as he drives his blades at the Black Spider.
OOC: Oh, of course. If the attack isn't relevant to my chosen target, I'll target the nearest spider instead. And change the dialogue to something like "Keep your webs to yourself!". Roland has inherited Tarok's cheesy dialogue after all.

Sildar and Tochi struggle against the webbing holding them to the floor, to no avail. The thick, gooey strands do not relent, allowing the spiders to close in on their prey. Forcing his gauntlets into their closing jowls, Sildar's armor protects him, but Tochi is left with only enough room to twist away from the first incoming spider; a second spider chomps into his leg, dealing 8 piercing damage, and the burn of 3 poison damage arrives soon after.
The dark elf chants, and his staff glows green once more before disappearing entirely, along with him. "No! You don't understand! If you stop attacking, the spiders will relent," he shouts from thin air between his assailants.
Round 2 Order: Enemies Players <===== Sildar
Placement: Nemean and Roland are engaged in melee combat with the invisible dark elf. Tochi and Sildar are restrained by webbing 15 feet away, engaged in melee combat with all four giant spiders.
Tracking: Nemean, Roland, and Sildar are all lightly wounded. The dark elf is significantly wounded. Tochi is grievously wounded.
OOC: If Roland would like to continue attacking, his rolls for round 2 are at disadvantage due to the dark elf being invisible.
Forgot to roll the spiders' attacks at advantage against the restrained folk, but alas, perhaps they are distracted.
