"We've been...hunting...and need food. You let us go eat and I'll come back afterwards. With my magic, you'll have so much control over your flames you'll be turning out your magnum opus. I can guarantee it," I tell the blacksmith, my voice dripping with confidence.
He looks over the four of you taking in the mixture of black, red and brown blood splatters across your armor and nods. “I’ll see you again soon. You can leave the equipment here with me. Here’s the 200 gold. If you deliver I’ll hand you the additional 50.” And he hands over a small bag of gold coins that you evenly distribute amongst yourselves.
You head back to the tavern almost mindlessly as your packs feel heavy, more from all coins than the fatigue and equipment. You enter in and immediately hear the waitress exclaim in a high pitched voice, “My hero!” While Drogore is embraced by the waitress Delphinium, Kazmae and Loodyhoo quickly grab a seat at the nearest empty table. A few awkward seconds pass before you hear a lower male voice shout, “He’s not going anywhere… they’re probably starving.” The waitress releases Drogore and takes your orders before disappearing behind the counter and quickly returns with your drinks.
You sit for a while silently reveling your victory and new found coin before the smells of cooked meats fills your nostrils as food is placed on your table. The waitress gives Drogore a wink and visits the other tables while you all dig in. The food is made all the more delicious from the fatigue from fighting and near starvation you feel having missed a proper lunch. Your drinks are refilled and the minutes pass as you gulp down eat bite happy with the days accomplishments.
Your feasting is interrupted by the Tavern owner, who steps out from behind the back and visits your table. He is a burly dark skinned human male with a salt and pepper beard that reveals his age. He bends down closer to the table and says in a low voice, "Thank ye for protect-n this place earlier today. The meal this evening is on the house." He gives a nod and a small smile then quickly disappears behind the open doorway to the kitchen.
The owner disappears before Drogore can finish his sentence and you shrug it off enjoying your meals. You finish eating and lean back in your chairs when the soreness of combat and walk begin to set in. Delphinium's shirt and armor still has a large tear in it from the axe blow she took and the pink skin from her wound is quite tender. Your legs ache and each breath seems to get heavier. The tavern is now bustling with people as the evening sun sits lower and lower. Drogore remembers his deal with the blacksmith and quietly steps out of the tavern while the waitress is busy with the other tables.
Drogore- you quickly make your way to the blacksmith and head over to the forge. You cast Control Flames explaining that you can increase of decrease the intensity of the fire and the blacksmith observes closely. A small smile comes across his face and the next hour is spent carefully listening and utilizing the spell to the blacksmith's needs. The first few minutes are tense as you each learn how quickly and well you understand the meaning of hotter and cooler but you quickly manage to get in sync and you are able to expedite the crafting of a pair of longswords. At the expiration of the hour the blacksmith wipes sweat from his brow and pats you on the shoulder like a proud father. "Boy, if you ever need a job, come find me. I can see how the larger smiths in the cities make such fine weapons with their magical assistants. You've earned your 50 gold. Now if you'd flip that sign on the door around, I've got to get this silver inlay done while the metal is hot." and he turns to continue his work. You exit and turn the sign from open to closed and head back to the tavern. Your legs burn and you long for a bed to sleep as the orange evening sky has shifted into purple and black. The town is aglow with torchlight and you enter the tavern to find your friends have all turned in for the night while everyone else inside seems to have just started drinking. Your body is grateful and you sneak up the stairs to your room. You sink into the large iron pot of a tub and scrub your skin clean then crash onto your bed.
Delphinium, Kazmae & Loodyhoo- You watch Drogore leave and feel the food coma begin to set in. True to his word the waitress cleans your table free of charge and makes a small remark about Drogore's absence which you shrug off and say your good nights before heading to your rooms. You check your wounds and bathe cleaning off all the blood, dirt and grime from your bodies before finally falling asleep.
Everyone- You wake up feeling well rested and find your mind a bit sharper, your muscles a bit stronger. You stand and get dressed ready for the day and feel as though something has changed but you're not quite sure what.

“I’ll believe I - I mean we - might just have to take you up on that Mr….?” I say around bites of the delicious meat.
