Thatch nods sharply to Sir Valor “As you wish, Sir” then turns and gives an impish grin to Teryl “Try to keep up!” Noting the location of the cooks cottage, Thatch leaves the inn and catches up with Argyle and Tana. “Sir Valor sent us to see what we are up against with you.” Pulling his hood up against the rain, Thatch slips into the shadows and moves closer to the manor house, trying to get a sense of how Le Cloche’s thugs were defending the place, or if they were all deep in drink.
Argyle nodded at Tana, then turned towards the others as they arrived. He lowered his voice as Thatch moved ahead. "Just keep your distance, don't be seen," he whispered after him, more out of concern than thinking the lad would actually not consider such.
Turning back to Tana and Teryl, he shrugged, then continued. "I'm not sure what exactly we're looking for, but even if we can just get a count of the number of doors, and of first-floor windows, that'd be a help." He glanced toward the manor house again. "I'll scout the back side. See you back here in a few minutes."
With that, the swordsman circled around toward the back of the manor house, attempting to stay in the shadows.

Thatch moves up across the front of the manor house, ducking beneath the narrow shuttered windows and pressing against the millstone walls. He is able to hear laughing and merriment but through the narrow cracks at the shutter edges he makes out through shadowy figures that though enjoying themselves no one appears to be passed out or very intoxicated. He is about to move to inspect the door when his foot kicks a bottle hidden in the shadows at the base of the wall and it 'chinks' loudly agianst the stone as it goes spinning away.
Further along the wall one of the shutters opens slightly and a part of a pale hairy face looks out.
" Hey! You! Bugger off or you'll be joining the old bastard in the stocks."
Moments later the shutter is slammed shut and Thatch hears from inside.
" Whassat?"
" One of the village brats, I scared seven shades of shite out of him."
" He won't be back."
( From the voices and shadows he estimates at least a dozen men in the hall itself, perhaps more in other parts of the manor.)

Argyle vanishes into the shadows and slips around the rear of the manor, it is an old building but built solidly and as a redoubt in times of war, the only entry points he notes at the rear are two high and narrow shuttered windows on the second level and an iron-bound and likely barred door on the ground level.
( He notes that most of the mens accents were local Albish but there were a couple of Chaubrettan ( Brittany) and Algandish ( Catalonia) notes among them. Those that he can hear do not sound very intoxicated.)

Tana slips around the side of the manor as well, more so keeping an eye out for small creatures to talk to rather than anyone within the manor. Nonetheless, she stays vigilant as she glances about.
Hotspur will mill about with the locals, listening to their stories about what has happened in the village, and about prior appearances of the White Lady. He tries to mentally catalogue any information that seems useful.

Hotspur listens into the villagers conversations and gleans the following:
Maxim Le Cloche is not well liked despite being Sir Olvar’s cousin:- “He is power-hungry, and uses whatever influence he has to enjoy a fine lifestyle… but he keeps it all hidden from Sir Olvar. Around Olvar, he’s all sweetness and light!" and " He’s recruited a bunch of foreign thugs to act as his henchmen.”
Sir Olvar in contrast is much loved by the villagers:- “Under Sir Olvar it is so peaceful here we've never needed any guards in the village." and "Sir Olvar is so brave to confront the White Lady and save his newborn child.”
Lady Angela is regarded as a just and kind mistress:- “She’s taken refuge from Le Cloche in her cook’s cottage, where she awaits news of her husband, Sir Olvar." and " She is beside herself with worry for her husband, and for her child, the poor thing.”
The White Lady, Queen Fhionn is a terrible spirit that has troubled the area for centuries or longer:- “No one left alive has ever seen her, but her white house has appeared in the eastern hills overlooking the town on several occasions over the years, only when the moon is nearly full and a child is due to be born." and " Whenever it appears, there’s a terrible storm (much like the one that is raging now). At daybreak of the third day after its birth, the poor little mite falls sick and passes away. They say the white Lady spirits their little souls away, but no one knows why.” and “Many brave folk have attempted to put an end to the evil creature, but none have returned from the white house. Once her evil work is done, the house disappears and the storm blows out.” and “There’s little hope of ever seeing good Sir Olvar again. These are dark times indeed.”
Tana slips around the side of the manor as well, more so keeping an eye out for small creatures to talk to rather than anyone within the manor. Nonetheless, she stays vigilant as she glances about.
(Stealth: 3, Perception: 15)
Tana stumbles in the dark while looking for wildlife and two of the shutters above are thrown open, a heavily accented voice calls down, " You! Girl! What are you about?"
" Have you come to entertain the troops? Its a mite lonely in here."
A voice calls from the other window, " Stay there! We'll send someone out to fetch you!"
Both shutters closed and there were shouts from inside calling from upstairs to downstairs....

Tana remains still for a moment, unsure if she should move from her position or not. She did not want to get caught, but leading them back to the party may not be a good idea as well. As the voices continue to approach, Tana makes a split-second decision to try and dart back into the shadows, taking the long way back around the manor towards where the party had split off from.

Voices drift back across the courtyard, " You scared her off...your ugly mug tends to do that."

" Nah, the spooks dressed in white and supposed to be a queen, this was just some village girl, I'm sure."
" Bah, its too wet to be traipsing about. Lets head back in."
