The noble drow smirks as he notices the silly halfling being caught in the spiders web, likely becoming some giant spider live meal within long. He's almost inclined to suggest they all stay and watch this feast, listening to the halfling's beautiful death screams as he's being eaten alive. Traydark watches and scoffs as the ever trustful and naïve Silas and Khessa tries to free the useless creature. "So we're going to defile a tomb now? I must say I'm impressed with your unexpected lack of reluctance for such a heinous crime. I'm not sure I agree it's a good idea though. We don't know where it is, we might still have drow in pursuit and we aren't properly equipped to face what likely will be guarding a tomb in a place like this." Traydark says dryly, preferring to head on towards safety.
"I would not think likely, for a tomb in the middle of this web jungle, to be a sacred place that deserves respect..." sighs Khessa, replying to the suddenly sooo pious Traydark "Coming to the other points: eventual drow still in pursuit can not be too near, because we kept quite a fast pace. Speaking of how we are equipped, you have a point, but I still wonder how we will ever be able to equip ourselves better, while we are low on founds! Anyway, fine, I would have not asked your opinion, had I not been willing to listen. So, you vote for no tomb and simply go ahead. Katryl? Ebzer? Silas? What do you prefer?"
Looking in the bag from the dead halfling, you see a few rations and a small skin of water that still appears to be good, as well as a usable dagger and 5 silver pieces. As you all discuss moving on, during a brief lull in the conversation, you hear a quiet echo in your heads, an erratic voice, with crazy sounding laughter,"The dark! Haha! Demons...from the dark! Run run! The demons are rising from the dark! Hahahahahahaha!"
Looking around for the source of the voice, aSpectatorsuddenly floats up past the far end of the platform, as 2Giant Spiderskitter along the webs towards you from the same general direction. "They're coming! They're coming!"The strange creature regards you for a moment before speaking again."You! You work for them! No! No it cannot be! You are all demons! Die demon filth!!"
(Time to roll initiative and post your first actions! THE ENEMY IS GOING FIRST! Read below!!!)
The spectator shifts an eye at Traydark first and a beam of sickly green emanates out at him! (Traydark make a CON save)
One of the spiders runs at Katryl but loses control on some loose dirt and simply skids to a half next to them!
The spider shifts its body aiming at Silas but a thick rope of silk merely flies past him and into the far webs!
(DM note: The platform is 20ft square, and no obvious places to hide. The spectator is right on the far edge, floating 10ft off the platform.)
(Just a couple of questions, to clarify the situation - and to decide what Khessa does: 1) The spiders would have been closer to the spectator than to us - since they come 'from the same general direction'... but they preferred to attack us, not even considering the aberration, right? As if they were its allies... 2) The spider that wanted to approach Katryl... is it still in the webs now or has it reached the platform? 3) Given the general bad state of the weave of the webs, Khessa thinks she can have a spider fall below, by targeting the web strands near it or under it with one of her patented Fire Bolts? Or this is a thing that is more likely to require many casting of the cantrip to be accomplished? 4) The green beam that hit Traydark what did it do to him? Was there any visible effect? 5) this one @Oberon: Traydark, being a noble... is wearing a cape, by any chance? As a refined noble, it would suit him if he wore a long, flowing cloak...)
Khessa tries to answer the floating horror (although she fears it's useless: the way it talks it seems out of its mind...): "So many eyes... and you're not even able to see that we don't look like demons at all!? Stop those beams and tell us more instead! If there really are demons around, we might be better off working together!"
Then, one of these 2 options:
If one person in the party (I was thinking of Traydark, since he is a noble, but anybody will do) is wearing a long, flowing cloak:
NOTE: Oberon also replied in the OOC thread - Traydark wears a dark green mantle with white fur linings - so this one is the option Khessa takes
The blonde arcane warrior momentarily takes hold of the large piece of clothing, runs towards the spectator and places it on its head (OOC: jumping if necessary... with the strength she has and considering that she has a running start, she can jump up to 6' high... plus she is quite tall), trying to completely cover its eyes (since it is with its eyes that it attacked!).
'This abomination has no hands...' thinks the tall adventurer as she tries the maneuver '... if I manage to cover him with the cloak, it will not be easy for him to take it off!'
@DM: You decide if this maneuver can be successful and what roll needs to be done.
Else (no suitable cloack to be found):
The blonde arcane warrior tries to give Ebzer a hand, confidently chanting an arcane formula and concluding the spell with an elegant wave of the hand, acquired during training with a certain drow warlock.
"Let's try to get rid of the spiders quickly!" she suggests, while a mote of fire flies towards the opponent "If Mr. Big Ball keeps attacking us, we can then all concentrate on it".
Most of your attacks go wide, perhaps because of the sudden telepathic madness making you second guess a swing, but still a few shots find their mark from Eldeth and Buppido. Perhaps the saving grace though is that beam of energy washing over Traydark only makes his body tense for a moment and then the feeling passes, leaving him, for the moment, still free to join the fray!
The monsters attack!
The spectator turns an eye towards Silas, sending another sickly beam! (Make a CON saving throw)
The one spider lunges at Silas with it's vicious fangs! They just graze him for 4 piercing damage, and Silas needs to make a CON save, DC 11 or take 9 poison damage!
The spider near Katryl reaches out but winces from an arrow wound and its fangs swing wide again!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Katryl again strikes out at the giant spider, lunging at it with her rapier. (Rapier Attack: 11 Damage: 5 + 1 piercing)
Eldeth drops her longbow as the spider comes closer and draws her shortsword. (Shortsword Attack: 5 Damage: 8 piercing) (Shortsword Attack: 19 Damage: 3 piercing)

Ebzer can't help but laugh at the drow's pretended outrage about tomb-raiding. As if anything were too low for a drow, he thinks.

Ebzer snorts in answer to Khessa's question. "Th' dead ain't got no use for treasure no more. No point in leavin' it in a dusty ol' tomb to corrode."

Katryl feels fortunate with the spider stopping just short. She swiftly draws out her rapier, lunging out at the spider.
(Rapier Attack: 22 Damage: 5 pierce)
She then Disengages (Bonus Action) and moves back away from the edge, alongside Eldeth.
As the giant spiders appear, Eldeth draws her longbow and fires at the one nearest Katryl.
(Longbow Attack: 14 Damage: 6 pierce)
