Onizos, the baker takes your silver and shows you and Yabo to the table next to her oven. In addition to Irvan, there are two other contestants already seated a cocky male drow, flexing his muscles for the crowd and a female halfling, sitting silently with a smirk. You're seated at the end of the table next to Irvan.
While the well dressed drow doesn't change his wager. A plain looking goblin shouts "2 silver on the new guy!" and looks for takers
Gan, The drow looks down and offers his hand to shake on the bet. "That's Irvan Wastewalker" he says hanging on the surname as if you should recognize it. "We just met here in Jigow, but with the number of drinks i've seen him put down each night since he joined our group, I'm hoping he can show the same aptitude for pie eating"
You don't believe he is hiding something. If anything, you get the sense that he doesn't care all that much about the outcome. ((to clarify the wager, he wins if Irvan wins, You win if Yabo wins, wash if anyone else wins))
Roll for History
Igreis, mingling in the crowd you are able to overhear discussion of several other competitions. While no mention of direct combat, you do hear about some contests that may suit you better. A swimming competition on the Ifolon, an orc of the Aurora Watch challenging people in arm wrestling, and something called "the gauntlet" which tests your footwork and agility.
Baetrix will quietly hand the well-dressed drow a single gold coin and gesture to Yabo before moving back towards Igreis on the edge of the growing crowd.
(Assuming Baetrix might also hear of the other competitions)
"How about it, Kryn-blade? Want to test your boots against mine?"
Baetrix offers to run the gauntlet with Igreis, or any other competitions with him, testing this Dynasty soldier against her moorland upbringing.
(If the contests just require skill checks, @DoctorPilgore is welcome to roll them if I can't roll them before 5pm CST)
Baetrix, the drow looks at the coin you passed him and hesitates briefly at the increased stakes but then sets his brow. "Hope you can afford to lose, friend"
Gan, you aren't familiar with the name. When you ask about thier group, he seems reluctant to discuss it, but does say "You'll learn all you need to know when we win the grand finale"
Once everyone is settled in the baker stacks a pile of pies in her arms and deftly drops one in front of each contestant. You all have no problem eating the first pie. The pies taste great, the meat seasoned to perfection and the crusts light and fluffy. Of course, there’s not much chance to savor the flavor of the pies when as soon as you finish your first, she drops another one in front of you. Onizos, with all the commotion, no one notices any crumbs that may phase through your gut, for now.
For the second pie Onizos and Yabo will need to make a Constitution check to finish it.
Yabo, the halfling, and the drow comfortably demolish the second pies.
Irvan and Onizos however are outmatched. Despite stuffing yourselves you can't quite finish the second pie and need to roll a DC 15 Constitution Save to avoid getting sick (poisoned for 1 hour)
Irvan's Con Save: 19
The halfling hears your telepathic message and makes a DC5 Int save to determine if the possibility of a sentient pie slows her down (3)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Irvan turns green and rushes off the stage and finds a corner to vomit into.
"Umm. that would be his small stomach, not a commentary on the quality of my pies everybody" The baker says as she drops another pie in front of the remaining contestants.
The halfling is unaffected by Onizos' message, realizing it's just someone trying to mess with her
Yabo, please make another Con Check (not save) for the third pie.
He stumbles away from the table, feeling that he shouldn’t eat any more or he could get sick. He’s also a bit annoyed that the halfling is unfazed at his little trick. “So focused when they eat, those halflings are!”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"All three contestants clean yet another pie tin, though the Tortle seems to be slowing down a bit! Let's keep rolling!" the baker says as she drops yet another pie. The drow waves his arms to pump up the crowd.
Igreis shrugs as Beatrix challenges him to run the gauntlet, motioning for her to lead the way. He doubts he would win in the more strength oriented challenges but he was more confident in his foot work and agility. "May the best win. But I am not taking this seriously. I do not see how this is useful in a battle situation."

((Mechanically it might not be anything, but it amused me for Yabo to rage eat the pie. If the advantage is not possible, I understand though!))
Form of the Beast
3rd-level Path of the Beast feature
When you enter your rage, you can transform, revealing the bestial power within you. Until the rage ends, you manifest a natural weapon. It counts as a simple melee weapon for you, and you add your Strength modifier to the attack and damage rolls when you attack with it, as normal.
You choose the weapon's form each time you rage:
Bite. Your mouth transforms into a bestial muzzle or great mandibles (your choice). It deals 1d8 piercing damage on a hit. Once on each of your turns when you damage a creature with this bite, you regain a number of hit points equal to your proficiency bonus, provided you have less than half your hit points when you hit.

Perhaps he could demolish the pie to smithereens so while it may not have been ingested it had been so demolished that it cannot otherwise be found and may seem to have been eaten.
Onizos, still a little sour that the halfling is doing well, decides to try one more trick. Having moved back into the crowd, he will try to be as discrete as possible. He will cast silent image when the new pie is placed, covering it with an image of a similar pie, only mold-covered, rotten, with tiny bruised-up jaundiced disease-ridden humanoid arms and legs sticking out of it.
(the spell does require verbal and somatic components, and he grasps his rod for arcane focus as well)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Chunks of meat fly across the crowd as Yabo ravages the pie. The baker looks on with slight disgust as she tries to determine how much Yabo actually ate. "Keep this one on the table or you're gettin' disqualified"
She drops the next pies off and the halfling looks up in horror. "Ugh, what's this, get me another one!". The baker sees the spoiled pie and quickly sweeps it away, hoping no one else noticed. The delay has given Yabo a head start tough,
Halfling (disadvantage): 10

Onizos will carefully set aside any chair that might be in the way of the table and says,
“I prefer to stand, gotta keep my body upright for maximum pie filling.”
(Really he doesn’t want his illusion form interacting with a chair)
Sizing up the competition, Onizos is most concerned about the halfling, despite her size.

Gan look up at the drow as he explains who the scrawny boy is.
"Wastewalker?" Gan asks. "He lives on a trash heap or something?"
He looks back at the contestants.
"Drinks one thing. Big heavy pie is another." Gan says then adds. "What's your group all about?"
Baetrix, the drow looks at the coin you passed him and hesitates briefly at the increased stakes but then sets his brow. "Hope you can afford to lose, friend"

Perhaps because he’s distracted by the halfling, looking at her out of the corner of his eye and then speaking to her telepathically:
Aaargh don’t eat me I’m just an innocent pie!
