The group bids their farewell to the caravan group, deciding to head on towards Sun's Last Light. As they rush along the open trail, they can see that the further they get away from Allhaven, the less green the grass looks, and the noises of wildlife begins to die down a bit. The birds flying in the sky are less apparent, and the sky appears a little less blue.
Pip seems to keep up well with the long legged people in the group, though Canary and Filtch are beginning to feel the burn in their legs long before the others. There is a brief period at high noon for food and rest, giving people time to sit down. Pip tells the group a bit more about Sun's Last Light as they eat some of their rations.
"Sun's Last Light isn't as pristine or huge as Allhaven. It's more of a barricade that people live in; the frontier before hell on The Prime Material. I mean, there is the Giant Steppe, but that's also just monsters too. People in there look after one another, we're all like a big family, charged with keeping back the things from beyond the hills. I'm just a scout, so not really as good at keeping the borders safe as the guards there. Captain Xander is in charge of keeping the peace, and will probably already know that we're coming. Don't annoy people too much; piss off one guy, and the rest of the town won't like you."
Picking up the pace after a lunch break, the group sees that the grass is a little more patchy than previously. Where it was lush and grown to tall heights, it looks more parched. Over to the right and left, some farmlands can be seen with some fencing around their crops, as well as a couple of watch towers. Ahead the group can see Sun's Last Light; a huge series of walls seemingly built from a mixture or stone, metal, wood, and clay. It is obvious that this place has been rebuilt from scores of fights with unknown assailants.
"Welp, there it is." Pip says with a sigh of relief, sweat dripping from his brow. "Sun's Last Light." He looks upon the fortress with some pride. "Guess we should get in before the sun sets."

the commute was not easy for Filtch, as before he insisted on taking point, But the more ground the party covered the more exhausted he became, and the more exhausted he became, the more he furthered himself from the group not wanting to let on that he was struggling, and the more he isolated the more sporadic and paranoid his behaviors, indeed by the time the party had finished its respite with the caravan he seems quite present for the most part, a far throw from the creature who had walked through those temple doors, but as you traveled that same mottled figure reared his head, Filtch even at one point turned around and accused the rest of the group of stalking him demanding what it is that they wanted, before coming back to his senses.

Thea wants to know whether Pip's completely honest with them, or if theres anything he tries to conceal.

"Excellent, let's go grab some hot grub!" Pip says, marching forward towards the gates. "Also snakes are common to the area, just not snakes like that."
From Thea's perspective, Pip appears to be truthful in what he says.
Following Pip towards the gates, a small squad of dwarves in [Tooltip Not Found] each armed with a crossbow, heavy are stood atop the wall, and have their sights aimed at the group as they head closer. One of the dwarves seems to be wearing a strange mask, and is seen communing with the others, who then lift their weapons away. A call of "Open The Gate!" can be heard as the sound of heavy chains can be heard, their links clanging against one another to open the massive dark wooden, metal banded doors slowly open to reveal a town of mismatched buildings, very unlike the sanctuary of Allhaven. There appears to be people wandering through the street with goods, some vendors are currently closing stalls down for the day while others are calling for their children to return home.
Between the group and them is a dwarf garbed in an ancient set of plate armour. He stands at the parting of the gates with a battleaxe held by the bearded head in front of him, the pommel pressed against the ground. The dwarf speaks in a deep rumbling voice, "Pip, you've returned with others. Are they from Allhaven?"
Pip nods. "Yes, Captain Stonefist." He says in a much more formal tone than seems usual for this halfling. "These are the ones the luminary sent."
The dwarf gives a slight nod of his head. "Greetings, adventurers. Rest well, as your journey will be dangerous. In these walls you will be safe."
Captain Stonefist takes a step to the side allowing the group into the town. He never takes his gaze off of them, the copper coloured glare piercing through the eye holes of his helm.
For those questioning, the helm is shaped as such:
"Well there's a couple of inns this way." Pip says, gesturing the group through the gateway so they won't be shut out for the night. "There's The Sunburst, a little pricey but has good quality beds. The other is Evensong; it's not quite as fancy but they usually have performers on, so usually get a busy tavern room." He then stops and looks to the others. "I have a place here, so won't need a room. Have a couple of letters to pass along too, so need to make a move. Any last questions before I go? I'll meet you guys at the North Gate a sunrise."

"There's always someone who might want to try and get into someone's pockets, but you should be fine." Pip says. He pops his pack down. "Captain Stonehand is like that with everyone. He takes his job very seriously." He rummages into his pack and pulls out a small bundle of sealed letters. "I need to get these sent out tonight, that's why I gotta go."
Liavyre feels there is also something else he has chosen not to mention, but the tasks he has mentioned appear sincere.
A group of a half dozen human children and a half-elf child rush around in the street nearby the group, seemingly playing a game and disregarding their calls from their parents.
"Sure, if you follow the main road for about two minutes, you'll find it on the right. Big sign of a music note." Pip says, picking his pack back up and readjusting the straps. "Right, I'll catch you guys in the morning." Pip waves goodbye to the others for the meantime, and heads off down a side street.
Following Pip's directions, a larger building standing three stories and made of stone and clay stands above the other nearby houses. The outside has been painted with a white coat and marks of musical notes are drawn around the sides of the building. A large dark wooden sign in the shape of a quaver (♪) is hanging above the large doorway, accomodating for the size of people as large as goliaths. It appears that there are a fair number of people heading to this place as the sun is setting, the orange glow of evening reflecting off the large glass windows.
Heading into The Evensong, it is reminiscent of a tavern in Allhaven. However rather than the neat uniform of similar chairs and tables matching along the length of the building, each table has a different pattern and are made of various materials, similar to the buildings. The chairs also seem to vary in size and style from table to table, occasionally a pair of chairs seem to match. The room is half-full already as several tables towards the back appear to be filled waiting for the slightly raised stage is being set up with a stool and a small table. The patrons mumble to one another as they are waiting for the entertainment to start.
At the bar is a pair of bartenders, a dwarf that looks quite tall for his kin and with a long red beard neatly braided. He appears to be working beside a half-orc woman with a strongly build frame, her long black hair tied back in a similarly neat fashion to the dwarf.
