It took 5 days of travel by riverboat and most of your coin, before your party finally sets foot in the sprawling city of Widoze. You see a bustling dock filled with people as they go about their business. You can also see the fortified citadel off somewhere in the center of Widoze. Throngs of dock workers load and unload the river boats. Now by your calculations the property mentioned in the inheritance is about 2 days travel from here. Kasbis vaguely remembers that his father had a close friend here. It took a moment of contemplation to remember it was Brathir a bishop of Elestine. Perhaps he can offer you some advice.
(it is early spring and already the heat is quite intense. Its currently 8am)

Duncan nimbly jumps off the boat as it nears the dock and ties the knots lashing their boat to the pier. Looking around quickly for any danger ((perception 21)), he then looks back to the boat and says, “M’lord. We’ve arrived. Should we look to secure lodging for the evening?” Then looking to Hrathen says, “Hrath, have you any connections here? We should see if we can get maps, provisions, and even better, mounts, for the trek ahead of us.”
Kasbis steps off of the barge with a light step, a snake is curled around his neck jarred awake, gives a slight hiss and then curls into an interior pocket of his cloak. His hair is dark and shaved close at the base of his skull, revealing interspersed among his lightly tanned skin a few scales of greenish color. He is wearing a long jacket with an almost uniform like appearance, and he doesn't seem to mind the heat, such as it is, at 8 am. He moves with a sinewy grace, hopping onto the dock and taking in his surroundings. "Gaz" he states, looking downward toward his interior pocket, "what do you think? Where shall we go first?" His eyes glaze over for just a few seconds, and he whispers "As yess, of course, breakfast. Yes, you have been patient."
He turns to look back at his companions, giving them a grim smile of determination. "Careful Duncan, hop off, come ashore. Let's see what Windoze has to offer. Easy now, don't bust your ass coming off the boat, right? Hah!" A voice and a manner of speaking belying an ancestry of nobility, confidence which may not be appropriate, but there, nonetheless. "Are you hungry Duncan? We shall see what we can find." He speaks in tones of ease with Duncan, a friend and companion for many years. He obviously looks up to him and it is easy to see that he regards him as a mentor.
He turns to his other companion as well, giving him a more serious look and a friendly smile as well, "Hrathen, let's disembark. My father had a friend here by the name of Brathir, perhaps we can find him after we have a bite to eat. He might have some interesting information..." He offers him a hand to bring him onto the dock.
Hrathen takes Kasbis' proffered hand and pulls himself onto the dock. "Duncan, I'm afraid I don't have any connections. Its rare that I find myself in a group. I prefer working on my own. Kasbis, I agree that we should go meet your father's friend. He may be able to help us on our way." Hrathen then casts detect magic using his firbolg trait, and scans the area for any magic, noting where it is and what school it belongs to.
“Food would always be welcome!”Duncan says with a hearty laugh, adding, “Sea rations never quite satisfy!”Then thinking of their mission adds, “It would be good to meet a friend of your father,”pausing for the smallest moment, clearly Duncan deeply respected the old man, “that would be a good place to start.”Duncan then begins to walk through the crowd, leading when possible, always keeping his eyes alert.
"Up there. An owl, a familiar, by the looks of it." Hrathen then follows Duncan, continuing to watch for other magics. He also keeps an eye on the owl to see what it does.

While they walk, Duncan stops off at a small booth selling local cheap snacks and purchases a small bunch, popping one into his mouth, passing a couple to the others, and then, still chewing looks to the merchant and asks, "Ah, friend, where might we find a temple to Elestine here?" He then thanks the man, and walks in that direction, snacking on the rest of what he purchased as he leads the group towards where they were told to go.
The elderly man at the stall nods "You can find the temple in the Sand Wreath district. You'll know it when you see it
The party eventually crosses the Braldon Bridge and find themselves in the Sand Wreath District. Off in the distance you can see the large temple with a massive diamond reflecting the light. Several Clergymen stand out side chatting as they welcome worshipers.

Kasbis is fascinated by how the sunlight is focused by the diamond. He walks forward to examine what this is illuminating. After he gathers himself, he looks at the clergymen congregated and approaches one, asking “Is his excellency Brathir inside? Where might we find him? I have heard of him and wish to learn more… the construction of this temple is fascinating! What else have you constructed inside?”
He tries to look around again for anyone observing them, also trying to spot any perched owls observing their movements. Gaz moves up and points his head behind Kasbis, looking behind him.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Gaz notices the owl is back perched on a nearby tree.
The clergyman nods "Yes Bishop Brathir is here. Yes the temple is a wonder. Come you may sit in the pews. May I ask who you are so they I may relay this to Bishop Brathir"
Once you enter the temple you see the ceiling is encrusted with diamonds and sunlight seem to wind its way through each diamond. From the pews you can see a Rainbow from the reflected light.
Duncan follows Kasbis into the temple, using his glaive almost as a staff to lean on as he stands near, always on guard, while the others sit and wait for the Bishop to arrive.
A thin smile appears on Kasbis face, “No need to bother him. Just a fan. I want to look around a bit at your wonderful temple for a bit …”. Once his back is turned, he sends a message to Duncan and Hrathen, “The owl is back, watching us. See who is observing.” He holds his hands under his cloak, a thin piece of copper wire in one hand, the other pointed underneath his cloak at his companions. His mouth moves for a few seconds but no words come out.

Hearing the voice in his head, Duncan looks around ((perception 4)) to see if anyone noticed the spell being cast, as well as to see if he can spot the owl again.

Hrathen whispers back "should I take it out? It would be easy." Hrathen then speaks aloud to the group. "I'm going to find a bathroom here." As soon as he gets out of sight of the owl, Hrathen casts disguise self, becoming a middle aged human. He then walks nack to the group, bows, and whispers "This is Hrathen. Act like you don't know me. I'm going to try and find out more about the owl." He then walks away from the group in the general direction of the owl, looking for anyone or anything suspicious. Now what do you do?

(A city of this size would have temples to the gods and Hrathen may find aid if he needed it)

There on top of the warehouse to your right you see an owl. You sense conjuration magic. It seems to stare at you for a moment with a half cocked head
Duncan notices no threats.
Kas notices the casting, sees the ritual movements. He turns to look away, taking in anyone who could be looking at them with too much interest.
