Shirin shakes his head, and puts his gloves back on collecting himself and making his way over to Dageron. "Agreed, we need to follow. We shouldn't be splitting up. It's clear this Nothing is on to our plan and actively working against us. We need to be cautious and cover our asses." He then addresses everyone else, beckoning them "Come - I will shroud us from prying eyes."
Shirin will cast Pass Without Trace, speaking an incantation in undercommon as he takes a pinch of ash from a belt pouch, sprinkling it around him.
Anyone within 30 feet of him for the next hour will have a +10 bonus to stealth checks, can't be tracked except by magical means, and leaves no tracks or trace of passage. (unless he loses concentration)
Shavaris returns before the rest has caught up to her, and she looks surprised to see you all so close behind her. "Oh! I thought... nevermind. We're trying to find this godzilla, correct? Anyone have any idea where it might be? Down this way, well there is a lot of magma, that's the orange glow I mentioned earlier. There is several bodies laying around, but nothing moving that I saw. There was a strange corridor in located near the magma that seemed to weave it's way down further into Hyboria?"
She pauses and looks at the rest of them, "Shall we look at the other 4 options first to see what is going on or look at this corridor? I really don't know. No idea if this creature we are searching would seek out the heat of the magma or not? Thoughts?"
"It is supposed to be capable of defeating a Tarrasque mating pair. It may be capable of anything... What killed those bodies, do they look like the other Zombies?" Dageron would cautiously approach the lava. As he does he looks for signs of anything... large...
Checking around the room reveals nothing except for the dead bodies laying here or there. There is no obvious cause of their demise, and most are relatively well preserved, like the undead that had been raised by Gmork in the main room of the cavern. Nothing stirs except for the magma as it bubbles and sometimes vaults up out of the floor.
The tunnel leads down and down and down, spiraling into the bowels of Hyboria for what seems like forever, but really it can only be a few hundred feet at most. When the tunnel ends, it opens into a small chamber lit by a simple pink crystal. The sounds of dripping water dominate the dark around them, and to be sure, it is dark. Darker than the sunken city above. Shavaris steps out into the pink lit room, and realizes it leads off into the dark that is illuminated here and there by pink light...
Stasolya follows the others, trying to lift her feet softly, but the clatter of hooves on stone is very hard to mask. Every once in a while, she grasps the AURYN medallion around her neck, bowing her head as if listening. She still seems deep in thought as she comes up beside Shavaris into the sunset-like pink glow. Looking at the crystal, she murmurs, "On the heights of the foam-topped waves, the pride of Atlantis was nothing but a bright bauble, drawing their eyes from the Crystal of Truth."
Then she looks forward into the darkness, a strange mix of wonder and sadness passing over her face. "What sleeps beneath the ruins to restore what pride has lost?" But she pauses, waiting on the others.
As Stasolya comes up next to her, Shavaris stares at her as she talks about Atlantis being a bright bauble. "My has the mighty fallen then." she whispers back to her. "Come on, let's go."
And she starts leading the group West into the dark. (Shirin's spell is still in affect correct? Supposed to last an hour)
The underdark remains quiet..****y the drips of water from overhead. Something moans in the dark, but it's brief, and then dissipates to nothingness...
(( Like a zombie moan all lame and feeble, or like an Ancient Dragon trying to find the comfy sweet spot on top of their horde of gold but having to settle for so-so? ))
Oten shuffles along with minimal movements, trying to keep his inner machinery running as cold and quiet as possible. He keeps an eye on his surroundings, and on his companions, ready for anything.
Seeing the second pink crystal in this underdark area, and with the way everything is set up, Shavaris gets a little closer to the crystal, a little mesmerized by it. "Anyone know anything about these? In such a dark and creepy place, they are quite beautiful."
After getting a good look at it, Shavaris starts towards the North hallway. "Feel free to follow me as long as you keep quiet. I don't know about you all, but I do NOT want to be snuck up by anything in this place. The whole area makes my skin crawl."
"Atlantis sought to replicate the Crystal of Truth, as a means of powering their civilization. These are their creations in that attempt, but they were never successful, and these don't have any power, though you are right, they are beautiful." Stasolya follows as quietly as she can, assuming the clatter of her hooves is magically muffled by Shirin's spell.
"The bodies were likely preserved here from the fall, but I think it was Gmork's influence that raised them to undeath. Atlantis may have experimented, but it could not bend and twist the natural order so completely as the forces of chaos and the Nothing have worked to do in our own age," Stasolya muses sadly. "At least, not that we know of...but we also do not know what made Atlantis fall. It happened so long ago. So many records were destroyed in the terrible cataclysm of its destruction."
Kit-Tik observed the crystals in silence. How spectacular, the thri-kreen thought to himself. How he'd wish to stay and observe the crystals a while longer, but that was not why they were here. Kit-Tik makes several clicking noises, ushering Rhino and Silk to stay close and alert as the party descends farther into the cavern.
Shavaris pulls away from the group as she leaves Stasolya musing and trying to get through this as quickly as possible. She continues North towards another pink crystal, but sees something beyond that.
In an abundance of caution, she calls Eloise to her side as she moves past the crystal to something beyond. As the others in the group catch up, those that have darkvision can see Shavaris freeze as she looks at the wall of a broken down tower, her rapiers fall from her hands and clatter on the stone floor. The wood elf then falls hard to her knees. Soon followed by an animal sounding scream emerging from her as she crumbles, folding over herself.
"So much for stealth!" Dageron (who does have darkvision) looks around the Elf. "No one rush forward until the danger is assessed, fall back to cover if you can!" He looks carefully at the area ahead of him, and whatever he can see beyond Shavaris' screaming form.
(( @DM what am I to roll here? Investigation, Insight, Perception...? Dageron is looking for the source of Shavaris' sudden shift to a bestial persona, suspecting she walked into a magical field, triggered a trap, or may be mind controlled. He has 60 feet of Darkvision and will approach to within 30 feet of Shavaris to assess things. ))
Dageron shakes his head in disbelief, then approaches Shavaris. In a low voice he says, "Our job is death. Get up and get back to work before we end up like them." He gestures to the mural solemnly.

"Well, let's check out this corridor while we are here." Shavaris starts heading down unless pulled back by someone.
Dageron follows, looking around cautiously as he does.
