Merad takes in the grandeur of the Cathedral and prays quietly to the Good Gods Above. He doesn't wish to interrupt the priest in his work and defers to Knight Valvyr or the rest of the party. He places a hand on his tummy and feels a little rumble. He nervously glances to each side and back to the man reading, hoping no one heard.
Circi spins slowly in place as she takes in the building with an awestruck expression. "I will never not be impressed by the craftmanship of these cities," she muses quietly to herself. She offers Merad an amused smile and whispers to him, "I'm sure we'll get to have breakfast after the blessing."
The priest looks up at the noise of a certain grumbling tummy, and chuckles.
"Ha Ha Ha. Looks like someone is hungry.
I'm to assume that these are the 'infiltrators'?"
Valvyr, kneels on the floor, and speaks with his eyes closed and head facing towards the floor. "They are, my Holiness. We have come to get the god's blessings from you."
Vex climbs up onto a chair, slumping down in it as he feels the presence of the church and more importantly the figure at the alter. Looking from one party member to another as he has been impressed with the abilities so far shown among them.
He is not so sure about Valvyr, as he appears to be a bit of a pompous buffoon, especially if he was on the decision to have Vex join a group infiltrating a Monk school of some sort. Obviously the Infiltration part will not be a problem, as that is my skill set. However if they expect me to fight with my hands, there will be an issue. Shifting his look to Theron, that one might prove useful for my needs, I can always fake that I am his underling...squire I think they call it, and get out of actually doing any fighting of any kind. That will also free me up to disappear around the school and go unnoticed as most underlings go unnoticed to the higher ups, especially one as small as I am.
Guess we will wait to see what this frightening creature has to say an then hopefully we can just get going on this mission .
"The blessings of the gods above will provide you with what you need to complete your journey. What you acquire is based on who you are as a person. What you get may range from an ability to heal, super strength, to a specific skillset. Or something as powerful as a holy power."
Merad is surprised, breathless, and stands perfectly still. Then, after a moment Merad says, "No questions from me your Holiness."He then kneels and bows his head slightly awaiting the blessing. While he waits he says a silent prayer of thanks to the God of Life.
OOC: Yeah, the yellow is hard to read, I have to highlight it to see it.
Theron looked very surprised when he heard that the blessing itself could have positive effects beyond just mending the soul and bringing peace to those who believed in a certain deity. He had never considered himself to be particularly religious, and he had always assumed that prayers and blessings were solely for spiritual matters.
Turning to Valvyr, Theron whispered, "Should I also kneel down or something? Sorry, I do not often meet a High Priest, let alone receive a blessing from one."
