Natasha: You get to the northwest room and find the door is still open from your massive kobold battle earlier. You stop and listen for any sounds of life before cautiously entering the room. Once in the room, you can see the layout better than before. No torches or lanterns light this area. The frescoes on the walls are faded beyond recognition. No furnishings or even rubble remains.
(OOC: Sure, it has been months IRL since you entered the Everforge, here's a recap. Your mysterious Benefactor has sent you to the Hall of Everforge to retrieve a chest for him. The chest is locked behind the walls of the forge itself, but you have the Key of Zahnaria, to unlock the chamber. The chest has an arcane symbol on it, and you have been given a drawing of the symbol to make identification easy. After you retrieve the chest from the Everforge, you are to travel to Lon's capital, Valtoria, and present your Benefactor with his prize. See page 31, post 610 for details.)
Natasha: You find nothing of interest in the empty room and rejoin the party.
"Not I. I have no skill with locked, potentially trapped doors. Miss Natasha, you seem to be the one with the most experience in those fields, would you mind checking the doors?"
"I'll take a defensive position to cover you if anything goes awry." Jacob says to Natasha, while readying an Eldritch blast and crouching toward the door on the spot one square down from the top along the "west" wall, just "north" of the suit of armor.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Natasha takes a deep breath to steady herself; Her stealthy skills have failed her a couple of times on this adventure. She hopes to concentrate enough to avoid looking bad again. She carefully avoids the tiles she believes to be traps and uses her Thieves Tools to attempt to open the door if she finds it locked.)
Natasha: You carefully make it to the double doors and avoid all the traps Stone spotted earlier. You find the doors locked, and you go to work with your Thieves Tools. You quickly realize this lock is protected by more than simple mechanisms. You also notice there is a stylized border around the lock that matches dwarven designs on a particular key the group possesses.
"Key? Key?.....Oh! Wait! I believe I have said key, let me check." Penelope takes her bag off of her shoulders and begins digging around in it. It takes a moment, before she fishes out an a large key of dwarven make.
"Ah, silly me I buried it deep in my pack for safe keeping and then had nearly forgotten about it." Penelope carefully moves over to Natasha, taking great care to avoid the trapped floor tiles.
"Here you are Miss Natasha. Please forgive my momentary lapse in memory."
Natasha: You quietly open the massive door and peek into the chamber. Steep steps lead up to a dais that dominates this area. Four large anvils rest next to large vats of water. The walls contain detailed murals that depict dwarven craftsmen creating radiant weapons and armor.
Sitting on the dais is a dragon the size of a large dog. Tinges of red peek through its charcoal-black scales. An elderly male human in robes and covered in burn scars stands near it, chanting something over the fallen shape of what appears to be an older female dwarf. You can't tell if she is alive or dead. The top of the dais wavers in a heat-haze, and a jet of blue flame erupts upward from it. Eight kobolds, spread throughout the room, watch the spectacle in awe and reverence. There are doors on the east and west walls of this room. The east door is closed, but the west door is open.
It seems like no one notices you hiding by the door, but suddenly the dragon's flame yellow eyes turn and stare directly at you. Oddly, it make no attempt to notify the others of your presence.
(Natasha backs up slowly, trying to not grab any unnecessary attention. She tells everyone what she sees.)
"Um... so there's a dragon in there. A small dragon, about the size of a large dog, but still... a dragon. It saw me. Bunch of Kobolds, an old Warlock sacrificing a Dwarf... This is bad. Any ideas?"
"Sacrificing a dwarf you say?" Stone asks Natasha. "Does it appear that the dwarf is a willing participant? Because if the dwarf did not give his consent to be sacrificed we should help him." Stone looks around them. "Maybe we can lure them into the room with all those mirrors."
