The group enters this next tunnel, trying to be quiet to not alarm any possible danger. Heeding the advice of the group, Cozubia extinguishes his torch. However, he is now unable to see as their is no natural light in this cavern. He slips and falls, his armor clanging against the hard rock floor. The sound echoes through the next chamber. The group waits for second, motionless to see what may have awoken. A few more seconds go by and the only sound is the faint echoing of the original sound of metal clanging, bouncing off the walls. A few more moments and the cave goes back to silence.
The group then heads forward through the shorter tunnel, about 20 ft, that opens into a larger cavity. With Drakvision, the end of this room is not visible from the entrance. The room starts out about 50ft wide at the beginning but seems to narrow as it goes back. The ceilings, much taller in this section, reach up to about 30 ft. The floor is littered with jagged rocks that stick up from the ground, some 5ft tall and others shooting up 15ft.
Iefyr mutters a few chants under his breath before turning to Cozubia. "I- uh- ...sorry bout that." he says, feeling guilty that his friend's trip up was his fault for telling him to extinguish the torch. He places a hand on the dragonborn's shoulder to help steady him. "We definitely need a torch in here, wouldn't wanna step on one of those rocks. Maybe Whiskers could scout it out in the dark first." he says to Carmen.
"Great idea!" She snaps her finger and the large whiskered owl appears on her arm. "He sees quite well in the dark, but I will be blind for a moment."
She sends Whiskers flying through the room perceiving through his senses.
Perception with advantage due to his Keen Hearing and Sight 16
Whiskers flies around the open area of this cavern. The owl manages to fly about 125ft through this room until the owl sees the end of the cave. No tunnels are visible from this end of the cave, just the one you came from plus a second tunnel headed back about 20 ft to your right, but both tunnels head in the same direction you came from. Looking at the floor and flying in between the rocks the jut upwards, the owl only sees wet rocks in the dark cave.
Ezid would cast the Dancing Lights cantrip as four glowing orbs follow the group through the tunnel, one in front of the group, one behind, and two either side in the middle, illuminating the tunnel fully for everybody.
As Ezid casts the orbs, Cozubia lets out a low sigh of relief. He agrees that the torch isn't the best option, but was worried that the total darkness would cause trouble. "Those are very handy, Master Ezid. You have Cozubia's thanks." As he says this, he claps his fellow Dragonborn on the shoulder and smiles.
Ezid's dancing lights fill the room, helping everyone see. With the light in the room, it is now possible to see the end of this cavern, over 100ft away. The wet rocks liter the ground as dripping from the ceiling causes the natural formations of both stalagmites and stalactites. The large room narrows the further it goes back to about 20 ft wide but is over 50 ft wide at the entrance of this area.
Carmen's eyes turn back to red as her sight and hearing return. "Doesn't look like there is another tunnel on the other side, unless it is hidden in someway. There is that one over to the right, which looks like it goes the same way we came from." Carmen tilts her head as she thinks for moment. "Hey, Ettelet, how many entrances to your home?" She walks in a bit to look into the other tunnel. Any scents, sounds, etc? "You guys remember what that old guy said about caves?...can't really get lost..."
Ettelet looks over at Carmen as she asks him for guidance.
"My home was back that way. This is not the way to my home. We should have gone right from the beginning to get to my home. You were distracted by the shiny wall and headed this way. I do not know what could be this way."
Ettelet looks around to see if he can recognize anything from this part of the cave. That is when he spots the water slowing dripping from the ceiling and down to the rocks beneath.
"Be careful friends. Rocks have been hurting recently. That is why I fled."
From here, looking through the other tunnel, you can see that it heads back in the direction you came from and even connects to the the same room you just left.
When Ettelet mentions the rocks, Cozubia asks, "What do you mean that the rocks have been hurting?" After he asks, Cozubia begins looking at the walls and stones in a slightly distrustful manner.
Mordekai brings out the map that was given to them, remembering that it was given. He scans the map quickly and tries to backtrack from the entrance to where they are now.
"Kharth speaks up, "You need a torch or some form of light, you will. It's dark as sin down there. As far as directions in the cave, I'm afraid I can't help you much. There were so many twists and turns and dead ends I got all sorts of turned around. I will warn you about those floating objects. If you see that, run. I don't know what or who but it will melt your arm right off."
"Here's the map..." Borin holds out a piece of parchment, you can see how is hand is physically shaking in fear. "I will provide you with what provisions you may need but time is of the essence."

Unfortunately, the map was just to get to the cave. It has no details about the composition of the cave.

Cozubia looks around and doesn't notice anything too peculiar about the rocks. Carmen steps around and takes a closer look. That's when she realizes that some of the liquid on the rocks seem to flow in a direction other than down. Some rocks looking like their dripping water upward.
