(Edited slightly. I had forgotten that "Gan-re is still outside.")
From her position a little farther back from the tower, Valrieth watches anxiously, holding her wooden shield in one hand and clutching her star map tightly in the other. She realizes in horror that the flying snake has turned its attention toward her just as Gan-Re's javelin flies past it. As snake speeds toward her, its fangs bared, Val desperately shouts at everyone to get into the tower. Battling instincts shout in her head either to remain perfectly still or to RUN! She hesitates a moment and then braces herself, raising the edge of her shield up to her eye level.
Just as flying snake finally strikes, Val hops aside and twists, keeping her shield between her and the snake. The snake's mouth snaps shut right where she had been standing just a moment ago. Her heart pounding, Val rushes past the snake's scaly body, dodging it's flapping wings. Val's peripheral vision reaches partially behind her, and she sees the snake starting to turn so that it can catch her before she can get away. Just as the snake looks ready to strike again, she crouches low and then makes a tremendous leap away from the snake and toward the tower. She lands gracefully and immediately starts running toward the tower as fast as she can, encouraged to see Hisa pass through the tower door.
Not daring to check whether the flying snake is chasing her, Val enters the tower at a full run, not stopping until she's 10' past the door. Once deep inside the tower, she skids to a halt and spins around with her shield raised to look back at the door. She glances at Finley and Hisa and then waits anxiously for Gan-Re, hoping that he's not foolhardy enough to keep fighting the snakes all by himself.
(OOC: The giant constrictor snake is huge, and I imagine that the flying snake is either large or huge. Since Val is small, she should be able to move through the space that it controls as though it's difficult terrain. With a dash, she should still have enough movement to make it past the snake and into the tower this round.)
Movement: moving directly toward the tower, through the giant flying snake's space (2:1 cost is 20' of movement if it's large or 30' of movement if it's huge) before her bonus action and then running the remaining distance to the tower after her bonus action. Total distance covered = 10" rabbit hop + 45' - 50'. Action: dash Bonus Action: rabbit hop, just before she leave's the snake's range. (As a bonus action, you can jump 10 ft. without provoking opportunity attacks.) Free Action: Talking. Optional - If Val happens to pass close to Gan-Re's spent javelin on the way to the tower, she'll pick that up as she runs, too.
"Gan-Re. Inside. Now!" Finley bellows and prepares to cast a spell, sweat pouring down his face as his friend is alone out there with the snakes. Glad to have the others inside the tower, he makes sure he's somewhat in front of them and he launches a firebolt from his hand into the Flying Snake and then stepping to the side so Gan-Re has room to come in.
Action: Cast Fire Bolt on the Flying Snake. Hit:16 Damage:6 Fire (Gamelog)
Gan-Re shouts “Coming Finley. Don’t worry Sir Talavar, these stupid worms haven’t seen the last of us. We will be back to fill them with arrows and rescue you.” Gan-Re crouches behind his shield and uses his free hand to pick up his Axe before disengaging from the snake and moving to the door and into the tower, flying as needed.

Gan-Re: Aarakocra Barbarian - The Wild Beyond the Witchlight | DM - Keys of Empire
Everyone is in the tower and you see the Giant snake A slam into the doorway snapping their maw for some juicy prey, but they can't get in. Its entire head is bigger than the doorway.
Valrieth does not close the door immediately. (For one, it seems like the snakes cannot get inside. For another, she'd like to take a look around her surroundings before they close themselves in.)
Val's heart hurts with sympathy for her friends. Seeing their injuries, she also feels a pang of guilt at being the only one who escaped the snake attack uninjured. Val decides that her first priority is keeping her friends alive. If the snakes get into the tower somehow, or if they encounter another threat in their current state, she fears that someone will get killed. She needs to make sure that they're ready to face whatever comes next.
Val focuses on her star map, still clutched in her right hand, and invokes the healer's constellation. Val's body suddenly glows with radiant light, casting bright light even through her robes. Her shoulder, hip, and ankle joints shine like glowing orbs with luminous lines connecting them in a rough approximation of a chalice. The rest of Val's skin and clothing looks dark by comparison to the glowing light, but her eyes glimmer and twinkle like bright stars.
The clear, cold light radiating from Val illuminates the entire room. Assuming that nothing leaps out and surprises them, Val says, "Here, let me help soothe your injuries." She casts Healing Word on Finley and, with a loving look at the little kobold, uses her starry form to channel additional healing energy to Hisa, too. While Gan-Re seemed to suffer the most grievous injury, she judges that he's somehow in better shape than either of the other two. She's amazed at the his resilience. No wonder he's so brave!
Movement: Val moves to the center of the room (or the center of the tower if the ground floor of the tower is not sub-divided into smaller rooms). Bonus Action: expend 1 use of Wild Shape to take the Chalice starry form. Action: Cast spell (LVL 1 slot) Healing Word, Healing: 5, targeting Finley Additional healing from the Chalice starry form, Healing: 10, targeting Hisa Free Action: Talking
(OOC: Please ignore the roll in the game log. I tapped something by mistake while trying to scroll Val's character sheet on my phone.)
"Thank ye!" Finley shouts to Valrieth and he slams the door shut after Gan-Re is inside. "Once everyone has recovered ah really wanna kill those things. We could head up th' stairs once we are ready and remove th' flying menace, aye? Th' rest should be easy if they're stuck on th' ground." He moves to Gan-Re and mutters a few words to cast Cure Wounds on him.
Action: Cast Cure Wounds on Gan-Re for 11 healing!
There is a heavy layer of dust and a crate next to a spiral staircase that heads up. There is nothing else of note in the room.
(OOC: Clarification. The party is on the ground floor of the 50' tall tower. Is there a ceiling (and if so, how high)? Or is it open all the way to the top of the tower?
And when you say spiral staircase, do you mean stairs that spiral up along the outside of the tower wall (like the image on the left) or a tighter spiral staircase (like the image on the right)?
And if it's the tighter spiral staircase, is the entrance to that staircase in the center of the room or up against one wall?
Action: Cast Cure Wounds on Gan-Re for 11 healing!
(OOC: Nice! Gan-Re should be back to max HP, right? Hisa is at 14 (max - 3), and Finley is at 11 (max - 8).)
When the party is out of immediate danger, Val will offer Finley 3 of the the remaining Goodberry berries. She should probably give Gan-Re and Hisa one berry each to keep in case they need to help revive Finley or Val later.
"Danks.. danks, deez snakes are trouble. Very strong and scary mhm, but glad we made it in here I am." Hisashi stretches her arms as she assesses the wounds she picked up, letting out a sigh. "We go up now yes?"
She carefully moves up the stairs with a dart in hand ready to throw it. If she sees the flying snake through one of the windows she'll throw her dart: 13 to hit for 4 damage in game log
Val says, "Or wait here and ambush...whatever it is?"
Val moves to Finley and hands him 3 goodberries, saying, "In case there's time before the flying snake appears, these berries will help with your injuries..."
Then Val moves to the foot of the stairs and peers up to the second floor. From here, can she see any signs of movement through the opening where the stairs pass through the ceiling and up to the next floor? If the flying snake can get down from the second floor, she wonders whether it would use the stairs or just spread its wings and fly around this high-ceilinged room.
Then she quickly checks out the crate near the stairs.
(Is the crate just a plain wooden box? How big is it? Is it open at the top or one side? Is it nailed shut? Or is there some sort of hinged lid? In particular, could one or more party member hide behind the crate, close to the stairs, but hidden from view from the anything that's coming down from the floor above?)
Movement: move from the center of the room to Finley and then to the foot of the stairs Action: checking for movement from upstairs and investigating the crate Bonus Action: none Free Action: Talking. Handing Finley 3 goodberries

I'm not sure what happened, but I added movement up the stairs to this post and a held action of throwing a dart if I see the flying snake through a window or opening. In game log: to hit 13 and damage 4.

Yeah they all missed. Plus the dice roller is overly sensitive.
I am going to Bot Hisashi
