At receiving a meager 92 gp, Ioseph's face goes paler than usual. He sputters slightly, punctuating his sentence with a light bounce of his staff against the now-pitted ground. "Now, see here! Given the amount owed, this is not sufficient as even a down payment on the interest alone! Surely there is someone we could speak to - a representative or pay officer able to guarantee payment in some way. This... this! This will simply not..."
Ioseph's brief rant dies down as he realizes that pretty much all of the armed soldiery in the area wears Boros markings, and that none of them are particularly keen on debt collectors. With a sigh, readjusting his grip on his staff, he kicks a fragment of charred mephit and changes the subject. "Ah, I suppose we'll have to get you sorted, in any case. What was this anyway, and why was it thus protected? Personnel of the Orzhov Syndicate were nearly wounded, while some in the Boros were - surely this constitutes hazard pay. And yes, if you happen to know of Brogmir...?"
As the last mephit had been taken care of, Tez hurried to help his colleagues to safeguard their material from more incursions. After he locates his brother and joins him. “What the heck was that? You’re ok? Maybe you’re the one who needs rest now, eh?” He smiles broadly at his brother. “Still, these crates should have been secured against energy seepage. How could that happen? Someone is clearly not paying attention to their job.”He gestures around them, “We were lucky these soldier were here, this amount of mephits would have been difficult to fight back. Anyway, I recognize the hired Boros legionnaires but who are these other two doing here? Best, I go over and thank them for their help.” With this Tez leaves his brother and approaches Ioseph. “Good morning!” He says friendly. “Thank you for your help with these mephits! Your presence was a blessing, you handled them so easily without the slightest effort. Truly remarkable. You have our gratitude.”
Trovik hands over the bag of 92 gold to Ioseph, but the man's comment about the insufficient amount owed frustrates him. He takes a moment to compose himself before responding."You seem to be forgetting something," Trovik says, his voice stern. "If it weren't for the Boros Legion, you might not even be here to collect this debt. Without us, those mephits would have overrun this area, and death would be the one collecting a debt today." Trovik pauses for a moment to let that sink in before continuing. "I understand the importance of paying off debts, but I am stretched thin right now. I may not be able to pay everything off all at once, but I will honor my debts as best I can." He takes a deep breath, trying to keep his frustration in check. "Look, I understand your just doing a job, and I will do what I can to pay off what I owe. But you have to understand that we're all in this together, and we all have to make sacrifices to keep this city safe. I hope this will suffice for the time being. And if you need any assistance in the future, don't hesitate to ask. We're all in this together."
Trovik stands tall and proud as a member of the Boros Legion and looks to Tez "I'm glad we were here to help," he says with a nod. "Protecting the people of Ravnica is our duty, and we take it seriously. As for these crates, we'll make sure to report the security issue to our superiors," the frustration on his face eases at the kind word "And thank you for your kind words. It's always good to know that our efforts are appreciated.""

"They were!" says Ulz when Tez inquired about the crates beign properly secured before transportation. He then looks towards the destruction made by the mephits death bursts ..."luckily no one was badly injured...I need to check the project's insurance we might get some charges over this" gestures everything that was damaged by the explosions. He then nods at Tez as he leaves
As Tez interacts with the other people in the area he starts feeling deeply concerned about something the Dao trapped inside him says "he is close, be careful" the Dao's voice was confused or nervous, as if he wasn't even sure what was his sensing but it was familiar to him nontheless
Tez regards Trovik with a smile during their interaction that slowly froze as his inner voice raised its concern. "Very appreciated indeed," he barely manages in response as he glances around nervously. "I have a sinking feeling in my stomach," he continues stammering to no one in particular, "almost as if there lies more in waiting."
Toka was quite all right with not telling the collectors anything, though truthfully she had nothing to tell them so it worked out either way. "We are always honored to do our duty, however great or small, but I'm afraid I have no idea who Brogmir is, or was, if that is the case. Why do you need to find him? Just another debt to collect I presume?"
"Yes Brogmir is another debtor and we need to collect what is owed." She checks the list again "Well at least we have his location. Ioseph shall we depart and find Brogmir?" says Thes Milia.
Trovik just nods "I'll keep that in mind. Tend to trust instincts, they help you in battle." he just looks over as the name Brogmir is mentioned "Seems like a lot of people are in your debt miss."
"Yes Brogmir is another debtor and we need to collect what is owed." She checks the list again "Well at least we have his location. Ioseph shall we depart and find Brogmir?" says Thes Milia.
"I think we must. Thank you, soldiers, for your... wait, these were insured? I think that must be important, don't you, Thes? After all, if insurance might be brought in, these soldiers are owed fair compensation for the danger imposed upon them. We might yet find a satisfactory way to resolve the... situation."
"Well... and hear me out - if these guards are insured against Izzet... accidents... then there might be significant liquidity at stake. Surely this must be investigated. Soldier Trovik, do you happen to know if such an arrangement was made beforehand? Would a superior officer of yours be more familiar with such terms?"
(OOC: Basically, plan is that if there was insurance of some kind for the Boros Legion against Izzet accidents, we might be able to convince the Boros soldiers who receive a cut of the payout to pay it forward to the Orzhov debts - depends on whether or not things were actually insured though. We can drop this idea if it's not in the current plan, DM - just exploring a possibility!)
Trovik just begins to just laugh at the statement "Soldiers insured...that's a good one. We willing sign up to lay our lives down for the greater good of Ravnica. I think he means the equipment in the crates are insured." he just places his hand on the man's shoulder "Thanks for the laugh, it was well needed after this situation."
"I also think only the contents of the crates are insured,"Tez chimes in. "But damage on third parties or other property might be included, depends on how hazardous the content is. That's not something unheard of, and I guess we can check that. The real problem is that these insurances often find some way to deny payment because of one or another loophole in their contracts."
((As mentioned by Tez and Trovik, soldiers are not part of the insurance, Ulz was worried about the insurance related to the contents of the crates))
While the orzhov members try to get some more money out of the soldiers and they try to confirm everything and everyone around is safe a single person walks towards you (the group) it looks like a worker or izzet intern but his vapor billowing from his eyes and head (through the hair) he walks as if he is looking for something or someone.
As the Orzhov members endeavored to extract further compensation from the soldiers and the legionnaires confirmed their surroundings were secure, an individual approached the group, bearing the appearance of a worker or an Izzet intern. Notably, vapor billowed from his eyes and head, diffusing through his hair, and he strode forward with an air of purpose, as if searching for someone or something. Tez experienced a peculiar sensation, a tingle of sorts, and upon gazing at the individual, recognized him as Modar, a Vedalken intern known for his shyness and unlikely to display such a commanding presence.
After scanning the surroundings, Modar declared in a boisterous voice, "Oh brother! You have always excelled at concealing yourself in the dirt, but you will not evade your destiny!" you see how a female member of the research team attempted to approach him, only to be repelled by a strong gust of wind, sending her tumbling to the ground. Other team members, including Ulz, rushed to her aid, checking her condition.
"I have beheld each of you as prospective vessels, and I will come for you!" Modar intoned, locking eyes with each member of the group and numerous others. The vapor began to dissipate, eventually ceasing altogether.
“Modar,” Tez says worryingly. “Are you alright? You were near one of the explosions?” He asks. “I think you should check with the medics.” And he looks around if he sees any doctors who could take care of head percussions.

Modar checks his head and looks confused "What happened?" he looks back and sees the group of researches attending the girl and looking at him with fear. "No, I think I'm fine. I just need some rest"
Toka blinked slowly. "Well this day just went from boring and mildly annoying," her eyes flickered to the collectors for a moment, "to suspiciously interesting perhaps. Imagine that."
"Prospective vessels... no that does not sound good. Well Mr. please look into the reflective surface of my shield and see for yourself. You are under some kind of effect or possible possession."says Thes.
Medicine Check to see if she can figure out what has happened to Modar.
“You just addressed your brother and told us that you consider to use us as vessels. You certainly appeared one short of your twelve, if I wouldn’t know you better. I’d say go see a doctor,” Tezhesitates as Thes stepped forward to check the vedalken, “You’re a doctor? Great! He will be ok, right?” He says to Thes as he lays his hand amicably on Modar’s shoulder.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Trovik steps forward, his hand instinctively reaching for the hilt of his sword. He gazes at Modar with a mixture of concern and suspicion. "What are you talking about? What do you mean by 'prospective vessels'? Are you under some kind of spell or possession?"(Religion check for signs of possession: 11)
He watches as Thes examines Modar, and his expression becomes even more troubled. "If this is the work of some dark magic, we need to act fast. We can't let anyone else fall victim to it."
