Rotating its head around to get a grasp of the battle, Dusk moves its fist around, directing this floating moon ((which resembles the moon in its current phase... which is?)) to attack the newest spider again. As the same time the sound of a very pleasant bell sounds from Dusk's head, blessing the allies who are actually accomplishing something ((Khessa, Erlang, Kell))

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Khessa breaks free of her webbed cocoon, no longer restrained.
Togar you launch a chromatic orb at the Webslinging Spider dealing 36 points of fire damage. Killing it as its body curls up into a still flinching husk of itself.
The Bloodied Spider attempts to bite you again, Khessa, hoping you're still slightly slowed down by the webbing. Attack: 8 Damage: 11(If this attack hits you Khessa, please give me a CON save!)
The Webslinging Spider curls up into itself as a large blast of fire hits and kills it.
Erlang and Kell you're up! Erlang, you're within 5' of the Bloodied Spider (or potentially 10' due to the glaive) and Kell, you're within 5' of the Feasting Spider.
(OOC: Dusk-- Athua is currently in a waxing gibbous state and Zinnah is a fading new moon.)

As Togar's fiery display engulfs the Webslinging Spider, reducing it to a charred remnant, Erlang lets out a low, appreciative whistle. "Nice shot." He remarks. Buoyed by the surge of energy coursing through his veins, a result of Dusk's divine blessing, Erlang feels an inner strength swell within him.
Bringing the squared-shaped harmonica to his lips, Erlang exhales into it, producing a few notes that reverberates through the surrounding chaos. Each note seems to carry a hint of ethereal energy as golden light erupts from the instrument, shooting forth like radiant sparks towards the Bloodied Spider. The golden radiance intertwine and weave as they converge upon their target. Without wasting a moment, Erlang swings his glaive through the air in a swift, fluid motion towards the marked spider.
Kell, aware of how much impact everyone else is having, scowls and pushes down the brim of his hat. Sliding towards the spider, he grabs one of its forelegs and wrenches it sideways, then slams his fist upwards into the abdomen of the creature twice.
Seeing the spiders begin to fall, and knowing that its allies are currently as protected as its able to make them, Dusk moves his Spiritual Moon to the nearest remaining spider, attempts to hit it, and then pointing one of the two fingers on its right hand towards the same spider, causes a discordant bell to ring out.

"Great! Down they go!" Khessa exults, seeing one spider burned to death by the flames and another taken down by a hail of blows.
The tall adventuress again summons the mystical green fire which, if the enemies were to be close enough to each other, could pass from one target to another; then she studies the opponent, waiting for Avimm to make his move...
...and as soon as the shady familiar distracts the spider, the Greatsword of the blonde arcane warrior springs to attack!
(OOC: Avimm takes the help action, since he finally can, and Khessa attacks Bloodied Spider with advantage using her Greatsword)
Seeing his prior success, Togar decides to toss another ball of flame at the remaining spiders, targeting whichever one is not down. Hovering in the air he hurls another one and says “And take that!”
Chromatic Orb : 23 to hit, for 16 points of fire damage.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Erlang you mark the Bloodied Spider and swing at it with your glaive, but unfortunately, the massive arachnid is agile and able to evade the sweeping arc of your weapon.
Kell you unless another flurry of blows against the Feasting Spider, dealing 19points of bludgeoning damage and killing it.
The Giant Spider leaps off the overturned wagon landing atop Kell, and attempting to bite him. Attack: 20 Damage: 9. (If this attack hits you Kell, please give me a CON save!) The spider is so large that it doesn't hurt you as it lands atop you (it's not quite body slamming you) and it quickly moves out of your space as it lands and attempts to bite you.
Khessa you slash through several of the Bloodied Spider's legs dealing 12points of slashing damage. The flames from green-flame blade are unable to leap to a nearby target, unfortunately. BUT good new is, as you remove several of this spider's legs, the rest of its legs curl up around itself as it collapses.
Dusk you slam your spiritual moon against the Giant Spider dealing 5points of [Tooltip Not Found].
Togar you launch another chromatic orb dealing 16 points of fire damage to the Giant Spider, burning and killing it.

Combat is effectively over! You are now free to mess with these four arachnid corpses, the rest of this wagon or finally investigate the sounds of whimpering/crying.
Khessa take a quick look at her companions: "Great job, people! You too Avimm! We are a great team! Are you ok Kell? Did that vermin manage to bite you?"
Anyway, the tough adventurers do not seem in immediate danger - while the wimpering creature might be! So the next moment the blonde arcane warrior resumes checking the wagon for the source of the pityful sounds.

Seeing Khessa dash towards the cart, Dusk’s eye flash as it scans the area ((16)) for anything else out of the ordinary.
Kell drops to one knee as the spider lands on top of him, shoving it away but unintentionally allowing its mandibles to score a shallow cut into his forearm. Cursing, he holds it away from him so as to not coat himself in blood. As the giant spider is killed, Kell looks up at Togar, tipping his hat. "Much obliged, sir."
Kell looks dourly at his arm, then replies. "It aint gonna kill me, but it hurts like seven demented cats are trying to rip it apart."
Togar moves forward and lands beside Dusk, smiling at Khessa. “Yes. A great team! Those spiders didn’t have a chance! Now, where is that sound coming from, the spiders startled me when they appeared, let’s get back to looking at what happened here…”. Togar starts to examine everything again, trying to locate the crying sounds.

It does in fact hurt, Kell, as the spider managed to inject some venom into you as it sunk its mandibles into you. (OOC: You take 4points of poison damage.) Dusk, you don't see anything else out of the ordinary, while scanning the area; other than these carcasses that were once massive spiders.
You all wrap around the side of the wagon to find a female wood elf, looking worse for ware, holding a limp badger in her arms. There is a look of fear and sadness on her face as she looks up at all of you, though she says nothing. She simply looks back down at the badger and continues stroking it.

As you approach, you see an averagely dressed young man. His relatively clean linen trousers are tucked into a pair of well worn leather boots. He wears a red surcoat over a white linen shirt. To top it off, he has black shaggy hair and a pair of glasses sit atop his nose. "Hello"he hollers as you come to a stop. He looks in the direction of your wagon. "I am--" he looks back toward the trees and continues making marks in his book"trying to--" he pauses again as he continues making marks "--identify each of these plants here" he rests his book in his arm as you continue to speak "well, I know quite a bit about the area I'd like to think. We're still in central Whiteridge after all." He continues to listen as you speak, Togar "well--" he looks up at the sky "it appears it's going to storm soon. You may take heed to that. It'll likely get a little muddy up ahead" he pauses again in thought "oh, I did spot a wagon traveling down the road, but you would have passed them as you're here now. They were nice people. I also saw a group of goblins just a few hours back that popped out of the forest, dragging a chain of dead rabbits down the road. I stayed back, I'm not sure if they're of a friendly tribe or not."

Dusk glides over to the elven woman, and cocking its head to the side looks towards the badger she is holding. If it still looks like it is alive, Dusk points a finger towards it and says ((8)), “Wake little one.”
Khessa slowly and calmly approaches the wood elf and tries to talk to her: "You're safe! The spiders are gone. They won't hurt anyone anymore. Was this badger your pet?" she tries to put a hand on her shoulder and to stroke her back to comfort her "Will you let me check how it is? If it is injured, maybe our friend Dusk can heal it... Can I?"
And if the elf allows it, the blonde arcane warrior checks the badger's condition (if it's still breathing, if it's injured, if it's dead... if it's just injured, she asks Dusk - who in the meantime approached and is gliding over to the elven woman - if he can please save it, given how much the woman looks to care for it); she just takes a moment to glance furtively at Kell, thinking: 'That trick he can do with the cards might distract this poor thing from what she's been through, maybe… but, hey, easy Khessa... he's just been bitten by a venomous spider… I don't know how much he is in the mood for tricks!'

Khessa is amazed by the man's words: "Knowledge is always good, so surely it is both useful and meritorious to identify each of these plants here," she approaches, meanwhile, admiring the guy's work and reading the names of the plants that intrigue her "but what practical purpose does it have for you, at the moment? Are you working for a library? Do you want to write a treatise?"
(OOC: Both Dusk and Khessa give me a medicine check to check out the badger)

"I'm actually studying to become a cartographer!" the man cheers as you ask questions Khessa. "I want to explore and map areas that haven't been explored or explored well, which means I need to know the different type of flora so I can better map areas and mark dangers!"
