Map scale is 5ft. White space is put in to make the map look neater but it is still a moveable square. Floor(-), Door(#), Wall (=), Guard Rails (:), Fire ($), Spikes (^), Switch (S), Acid (~), The Guard rails are about 4ft tall. Unlike the acid pool, a single grapple is not enough to push someone over. A shove however, is enough to push someone over. From the other side, the pit is 6ft deep, making the guard rails near 10ft higher from the ground. If someone falls down into the pits, it will be very difficult to get out of said pits. DO NOT FALL IN
The orc2 stands up and tries to push Runt into the pit. Volf tries to bite it down but only manges to catch the orc's cloth in it's teeth. As the orc2 keeps pulling at it's pants trying to get Volf to let go, Runt takes advantage of the distraction and knocks the orc's head off with an upward swing of her hammer. Orc1 sneaks over to where Orc2 once stood and tries to tackle Runt over the railings.
With a swift kick to the charging orc's head, Runt prevents the Orc1's tackle. Elsara takes this chance to draw the Slasher and move behind the orc1 as it tumbles backwards. With a swift swing, the orc goes down.
Val jumps up and chomps down on the orc's neck but the orc remains standing it. Tackles Runt but she dodges and the orc hits the railings. He is now up against the entire party.
The orc falls on its chest as the sword stabs him in the back. It is dead. The room is now clear. With the sounds of battle died down you can hear the sounds of muffled screams coming from beyond the thick metal door in the East wall on the opposite half of the room from where you came from.
Everyone gets 320 XP (I will add it to your character sheet)
"No rest for the wary, I guess."Devarus gives the others a faint smile, draws his long bow, and makes ready to cover the others bound to burst into the room by at least 15 to 20ft if at all possible with a ready shot.
But... before all that can happen. Remembering the man and woman from before, if they torture hasn't already come to an end, Devarus sees to it swiftly with a few well placed arrows to the head. A look of remorse playing on visage the whole time. But if he can tell tell there was at least some hope for them -- a lever perhaps to pull to turn off the flames and decouple the woman from the spike -- he at least hesitates to look around for one.
Perception: 17. (For a torture off switch, or to be subbed to check on the tortured people's condition if already passively clear)
Medicine: 9. (I assume the DC will be high, assuming its even possible, for checking at a distance if there's any hope for the woman in the spiked pit)
(I cannot for the life of me remember if I had one potion or two given at the start. I know I used at least one on Runt earlier.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
@Deva: You had two potions at the start of the mission. You currently have 1.
Devarus there were two switches in this room. I think I already said that but whatever. One of the switches turns the fire in the fire pit off. What remains are two burnt corpses, black and red with burnt skin and blood. The other switch lowers the spikes. The woman dies shortly after.
So... you guys want to go in or not yet?
