Devarus pulls out the showstopper, Mr. Scattershot, and after taking careful aim let's out, "Don't move, Lady Genden" mere seconds prior to letting the bolts fly!
Devarus, Zombie2 is dead so no need for attack rolls. You can still attack zombie6 and 4 though.
Devarus brings out the Scattershot. Like a muffled and distant explosion, the hefty crossbow launches an cloud of darts toward zombie4 and zombi6. Due to the distance, the could spreads too thin and it misses the zombie6 but a few darts land on zombie4. Shortly after, Runt opens the window of the guard house and throws two javelins at zombie4. One of them javelins lands and the thunderous energy causes the zombie to explode.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Valwarin, in his wolf, growls and jumps away from the zombie that still stands, dodging its attack. He then jumps forward and tries to bite the neck of the creature.

(Indeed. Hope you're able to have fun, Zulk)
Devarus breathes a sigh of relief as the last puppet falls and fails to get back up. Still wary, nevertheless, he puts away Scattershot only hesitantly to recover at least 2 of the four arrows shot. During the process he tries to examine the bodies, grimacing all the while. "They were like the marionettes I saw when I was traveling kid. These... This might not quite be like with the Orcs, but this is just as bad, if not worse."
He takes in their surroundings after the once over. "I hate to imagine if the whole town is like this. But this..." He shakes his head, unable to find the right words.
(Okay wtf DnD Beyond. I was not getting notifications for this thread)
Gendan, you do not see anything out of the ordinary but you hear things brushing against the ground. More puppets are headed your way. (The only reason you were able to hear them coming is because you rolled at nat20 on Perception). Other than that, I will use this chance to tell about what's where in this town. To the North is the aforementioned armor and weapon shop. There is a bookstore and an inn here. To the east is an alley between the walls and three buildings. The alley leads to a dead end. Among the three buildings one is a trade house, one is the post office and the last is the stables. Finally to the north is the bazaar. Normally it would be timing with life. Now it's quiet and seemingly empty. The square is at the center of the bazaar. The path splits off into four directions at the square. The south path connects the square to your current location. The east and west path are obscured from your current position by the bazaar huts and stalls. You can see the paths but not where they lead. The north path stretches further up and leads to Romel Castle.
Val when you smell the corpse of the puppets you don't smell rot like you would on normal undead. Instead there is a faint smell of something you don't recognize. Upon sniffing some more, you realize that there is the same faint smell is also present in the well. It is too faint for people to normally pick up. You were only able to pick it up thanks to you heightened wolf senses and because you tried really hard (great roll).
Devarus isn't too far behind Runt and Frandal; and, is all the quicker about it if Gendan gives warning about the approach. But until then, he switches to scimitar shield in his cautious approach into the shop, head on a swivel for any more... puppets.

To Devarus, the bodies look like dead bodies that were attacked with swords... because the party attacked them with swords.

Does anyone else want to try examining the bodies?
