Lehmani responds to Grymar,"Good question. I'm well enough to press on. That giant isn't working on our timeline." Then, looking to Zubien, "That said, if we're in need of rest and healing, I'm fine to settle here for a while."

I will, however, be rather limited in my spell-casting ability afterward, should we encounter any further trouble before we settle down for the day. That being said, I'm prepared to take that risk if the rest of the party agrees." She looks to the others for their thoughts.

"I can use herbs and bind my wound, rest may be better so you can save your magic if we really need it," Zubien states, nodding to Lehmani, "Always wise to be prudent."
All - You take a short rest next to the river. The crabs do not return to spoil what is actually a decent autumn day. You watch as Zubien uses herbs from his pack and a few he finds in the area to make a strong-smelling poultice which he applies to his wounds before binding them. The sounds of the flowing river and gentle breeze through the trees is relaxing. Suddenly, the rumble of thunder cuts through the calm, and to the west, you can see dark clouds forming in the sky. It seems a storm is brewing. You finish your short rest and set forth into the woods once more. After roughly another hour, you hear before you see, a man cursing and attempting to stay atop a bucking horse. The man's clothes appear to be finely crafted, and you see that the large, powerful mare he’s struggling against bears an expensive looking saddle. The man quickly loses his seat and falls to the ground with a thud. He continues to curse the horse as he picks himself up and spits in disgust as he sees his now ripped sable cloak. The man angrily approaches the horse, but suddenly jumps back as its hind leg viciously lashes out at him. The horse snorts and paws the ground as the man stands outside kicking range, his hands on his hips. He turns his body slightly in your direction as you approach, keeping an eye on the horse, as he says “Hail! Care to purchase a horse possessed by Asmodeus himself?”
After applying his poultice and applying a bandage, Zubien takes out his flute and plays an accompanying tune to the soothing sound of the water gurgling by. When he hears the sound of the rider and his issue with his horse, he stops playing to see what the commotion is about. He moves to where he can observe the man as he calls out about his horse.
Zubien will attempt to see what may be bothering the horse (Animal handling: 7)
Zubien - As you try to take a closer look, the horse rears and whinnies, kicking at the group. Everyone scrambles backward to get out of range and your inspection is interrupted as the stranger stumbles backward into you. "My apologies," he says as he steadies himself, "can't turn your back on her for a second."
All - The man says to you all, "200 gold pieces and she's yours." with one hand on his hip and the other massaging the bridge of his nose, eyes closed. "I paid ten times that amount for her in Neverwinter. She's thoroughbred and I have the certificate of pedigree on hand." He sighs and shakes his head as he motions toward the horse, "Well, in my saddlebag."
Lehmani -
You don't sense any ill-intent from the man, but you get the feeling he's used his world revolving around him and his every command being obeyed immediately. Clearly he's frustrated by the horse's lack of respect for his station.
Lehmani looks to the others, a slight look of mild amusement on her face as she shrugs with an air that says, "Up to you."
"Two hundred gold is well beyond my means, even for a ridable horse, but far be it for me to stand in the way of anyone else wanting to make the trade."

Zubien shakes his head, " I am sorry, for as I also don't have the gold as well." He then looks at the horse, "How long has your horse been acting like this? You must have ridden it for a while, and if the certificate is in the saddle bags, then this must have happened only a few moments ago. Were there any other signs the horse was about to act up?"
All - The man sighs and says, "Hell B*tch has been a pain in my arse since the day I bought her. Stubborn, ornery, and well worth her name." The man spits and glares at the horse, while Hell B*tch simply stares back, tail twitching every few seconds. "Today was better than most, I managed to ride her for roughly an hour before she began acting up. I typically lay in with the crop, but I left it at home because she seemed to be coming around of late. I won't make that mistake again." Hearing that you have no means to purchase the horse the man scoffs in disgust and shakes his head. He takes a deep breath and says, "How about this..." A pause and another deep breath, "I will pay fifty gold to whoever can calm my horse and bring her to me." He looks to each of you with tight lips and says, "Well?"
Grymar smiles and steps up, saying to the horse, “Don’t you mind him girlee, just a take er easy there, thas right. C’mon now, easy…” He reaches his hands gently for the reins, and nodding to Lehmani, he quietly asks for help in calming the horse, and leading her to the man.
“The trick is see… you need to speak nicer tohernowdontchee know…”
Grymar - Hell B*tch eyes you warily as you approach, turning slightly to keep you in sight at all times. She twitches her tail and stamps her feet a bit as you grab the reigns but otherwise doesn't react negatively. Up close, you feel the tension in her slowly start to release. The soft notes of Zubein's flute begin to fill the air and Hell B*tch nickers a bit as she starts nosing your pack. She lets you lead her back to the man without issue. The man stands and stares at the reigns in your outstretched hand, then you as he says, "How did you do that? She crippled one of my best hands last week, but she just went all cow-eyed over you in an instant." He takes the reigns and with great difficulty, says "Th-there there girl. Easy." He tentatively pats her on her neck and when she doesn't lash out with hoof or tooth, he retrieves your reward from his saddlebag. The man counts fifty gold from a bulging pouch and hands it to you in stacks of ten. He then mounts Hell B*tch, nods to you all, and sets forth down the trail, heading the way you all just came from.
Lehmani smiles kindly at Grymar."That was a delight to see. After our difficulty at the river, I admit, felt almost as anxious as that poor horse. Your calming words to the beast and Zubien's melody managed to put me at ease as well."
She looks to the others, "I have great hope in our group. No one truly knows the will of the gods, but in my heart I believe The Holy Maker of All Things favors our quest."

I hope to return the favor even more!” (Grymar gives each of you 12 gp).
