Normont looks carefully at the figure of Lord de Rolo, before deciding that it couldn't hurt to ask for help.
"Yes, yes we do, My lord. Can you tell me how to work these?", he says pointing at the screens. "I want to turn off whatever is happening that is causing illusions and whatever defences are in play here".
Dev had been so focused on what was happening below that he barely registered the man now standing on the ramp and speaking with Normont. But when the tiefling looks over his shoulder at his friends, he takes in a sharp breath. Could this person be real? Where did they come from? ((Disbelieve illusion. INT Roll 3+2=5).
Well, the tower door was open… maybe this Lord De Rollo followed them in?
Dev keeps his ears peeled for what transpires below, but his eyes are on Normont, alert for any signal of danger.
Lokilia tries to remain hidden but is beginning to get concerned about where her companions might have gotten to. 'Did they leave the tower?' she wonders. She feels fairly confident though they would not unless the need was great. Thus, she takes advantage of her spider form and tries to get as much information as she can. She moves further down to get a better look at what's happening. (Perception: 19)
Normont ponders the likely fake Lord's question, and decides to be honest.
"We came to stop those others who entered the tower getting their hands on powerful artefacts, for fear they will use them for selfish gain. But I will not lie, I am curious myself as to what is to be found here. What knowledge that has been lost", he says. "Are you also an illusion? Is something reading our minds and picking out details to use for the illusions? Is it to scare us off, or simply a means of communicating?".
Just as it seems like he has finished, he adds hopefully, "We would like to be allowed to look around in peace, perhaps with you as guide".

Dev looks down from above through the darkness in time to see the Cerberus assembly woman unleash a great cloud of gas from her hands engulfing her country folk who were advancing toward her. Lokilia sees the cloud and a moment later realises that the constant air current from the shaft is going to bring it up towards her companions if they are still above....it only covers part of the walkways as it rises...so they might be alright depending where they are....
She also notes the armoured man fires his wand again and the silvery darts strike a young girl, maybe six or seven in the chest pitching her over the edge to tumble down the shaft with a rather ungirlish gutteral scream....the two Dwendalians begin retreating towards the stairs she is hiding on.

" Am I.....am I an illusion? Good to be cautious, but know I'm as solid as you are. You are right though, those who have entered must never leave here. I would be happy to guide you deeper...though there is anything but peace below.", he pushed his spectacles up his nose and smiled widely. Behind him another figure began approaching out of the dark seemingly from nowhere.
Quinn is confused to see it is Dryden Sentinel and Stoneguard of Terrah, the burly orc-blooded woman waves to him and the others in a friendly fashion, " What is the plan, Percival, Old Friend?"
Seeing the Dwendalians in motion towards her, and the potential danger to the others, Lokilia decides to start moving back upward to find her companions. It's slow going, but she will simply keep moving as quickly as she can, still in spider form.

(She will likely see Dev once she gets to the next lot of stairs leading up. Or at least a box of screens that weren't there last time she past and her blindsight will note its not real and theres a Dev within.)
The arrival of the burly orc-blooded woman who offers a familiar greeting to the other stranger speaking with Normont but clearly putting both the gnome and Quinn on edge, even to the point that Normont nudges the first stranger with his pistol, ratchets up the tension Dev feels to an even higher degree.
Still keeping a lookout on the mayhem below while also guardedly watching the interactions between his friends and the new arrivals nearby, the teenager becomes distinctly aware that he hasn’t seen Lokilia in some time, and worries for her safety along with his and the others. His restraint begins to break.
A tense rhythmic thrumming sound starts to unwind from him, his horns crackling with energy, though he remains hidden in his illusionary box. (Thaumaturgy: “You create an instantaneous sound that originates from a point of your choice within range, such as a rumble of thunder, the cry of a raven, or ominous whispers.” = rhythmic thrumming).
He turns toward the wall upon which he last saw Lokilia-as-spider crawling and calls her name as loudly as he dares, though still a whisper, not to be heard below him. He has no idea if she is nearby.

Lokilia easily locates Dev cloaked in his illusion...especially after his seismic effect...
Normont moves forward a little and attempts to prod at Old de Rolo with this side of his gun, just to see if he is solid.
"When you say those who have entered, does that mean us as well", he asks a little tentatively. He backs up when the Orc lady arrives as well.
"What exactly is down there?".
" Of course, and Myself. Meat...and secrets.....too many secrets. Secrets which must be kept."
" Don't fret, we've had Udo to keep company this last month, but the More the Merrier as they say."
" The sheer variety of entertainment you offer is delightful."
His prod with the gun is noted but not challenged, Lord De Rolo certainly seems solid enough......though.....something about the way his clothing was compressed by the firearm when Normont touched him seemed...wrong....

Dev sees a large spider retreating up the stairs, it turns towards him as he rumbles....
Lokilia comes over closer to Dev once she sees that he is there behind the recently appearing screens. As she gets closer and can see the other party members - and presumably those they are talking to - she is a bit unsure of what to make of these newcomers. She stays put along the wall, trying to find an out-of-the-way spot to now observe what is happening with this new group.
"Oh", Normont says as he ponders. "You are not from here either then. You merely wandered in like we have. Where are you from? How long have you been here?", he says curiously, but as he asks he starts to surreptitiously back away from the newcomers.
He is wary for any sort of aggressive action from the pair, fully prepared to unload at whichever one does something first.

Dev sees a large spider retreating up the stairs, it turns towards him as he rumbles....
Below the noxious cloud continues to rise.....
Dev notices the large spider and comprehends that it is Lokilia. She is safe for now, yet the situation below with the cloud and, on his level, the newcomers, keeps him wound tightly as a spring, ready to act. The low thrumming continues, echoing and amplifying his own heartbeat.
(Peeks over the edge. Does he have to move to avoid the cloud? If so, he does, closer to Normont.)
( He still has a couple of rounds before it drifts up to his level....its being blown about by the updraft so hard to determine where it will pass through.....also hard to see what's happening below with it in the way.)
Seeing the reactions of her companions, Lokilia in spider form tries to continue to head up and get to where the others are located. She intends to try to get behind the group that has now entered, hoping to be in a position to surprise this should this devolve into fighting.
"Oh", Normont says as he ponders. "You are not from here either then. You merely wandered in like we have. Where are you from? How long have you been here?", he says curiously, but as he asks he starts to surreptitiously back away from the newcomers.

' Lord De Rolo' grinned...a little too widely..., " We were placed here to act as guardians when the Administrator was called away.....many staff were left as well but they....exceeded their authority and we were obliged, according to the wording of our contract, to remove them from their positions."
" Where are we from? These shapes? From your minds. Ourselves? The Abyss.'
' How long? Hundreds of years."
" Do not resist. There are accomodations for you here, Udo has not enjoyed his but perhaps you are more adaptable."

Lokilias spider form passes the disguised Dev and creeps along the wall past Normont and Quinn and the two figures seemingly unobserved....
The gas cloud continues to rise...currently it seems as if it will miss every one on the platform.
From below more of the scintillating darts can be seen refracted through the poison gas cloud, there is a shrill inhuman scream and then another burst of flame followed by an all too-human cry of pain. Far, far below Ubo continues calling out into the dark...
Normont is not surprised by the answer he receives. Well, perhaps the part about where these things came from. The Abyss. His mind briefly processes that information, as it searches for anything he knows about that plane.
