Chadwick active the drift globe using its basic light feature. Then he will grab the dragon corpse and sling it over his shoulder and assist Henilen heading up the stairs.
Once up top he'll take a gander at the donkey cart and see if it could be repaired.
If we stick to the already beaten path our tracks will blend in. Plus we may come across the guardsman we saw earlier and see if he needs additional help.
During this time, Starker and Chadwick were able to cobble together the donkey cart into a functional status. Its structural integrity will be most challenged by the product of Speed of Travel x Weight of Cargo carried. Best guess is that Henilen and Belgger can ride, maybe add the strongbox. Someone will need to be donkey(s).
The sun is low against the horizon and the shadows are lengthening.....
Henilen, my name is Chadwick, paladin of Tyr. Our party was sent to track down and rescue hostages that were taken from Shalecliff yesterday. We hadn't expected to find additional prisoners, but we're glad we did and will help you get out of here.
To the rest of the party: How many healing potions do we have left? I have two spells left (first) so I can use one to heal Belgger. If the party has less than three Chadwick will cast cure wounds, or if the dwarf isn't awake enough to ingest it. Roll sent as condition...rolled minimum as expected (3 total). I'm being stingy about my heals because I want to save the spell slots for divine smite against the Evil Dark Thing.
After the healing Chadwich will continue his questioning. Henilen, what other dangers do you speak of? We’ve already dispatched twenty or so orcs along with the orcs leading them if that is what you speak of.
Pause for answer. Do you know of any other prisoners, and where they might be held?
Gneuman stands up slowly, rubs the back of his head and looks around, "It appears that we have very little time and we are in no condition to face additional foes. I would suggest that those that can, tend to those who need medical attention. The others should quickly search the area." The gnome looks at Henilen, "Is there anything else that you can tell us about this place?"
Immediately after the group dispatches the Dragon and the last Orc. Kragen rushes to assist those in need, Gnueman being the first. He places his Potion of Healing in Gnuemans hands and quietly says "You fought bravely my friend, drink this and it will provide some relief from your wounds". As he continues to set and dress his wounds.
How many HPs do I get back from this? "Thank you, my friend."

Gneuman was sitting after drinking the potion of healing. Was that enough time for a short rest?

Gneuman looks at the group. "Gather our two new friends and anything else that you can carry that won't slow you down....we are leaving now." The gnome then heads up the stairs.
Chadwick seems a bit disappointed about leaving behind the dragon corpse, but figures speed is more important. He'll still take the head and front feet.
He is heard grumbling on the way up that he thinks it would help feed the orphans. It's unclear if he is speaking literally or he thinks it has value to sell for gold for the orphans.
Once the cart is cobbled together he moves to the front of the cart to help pull with Hoid. "Just like being back on the farm again." He sighs contently as they move out with a smile on his face.
/Ooc I'm deliberately not reading anything about harvesting dragon bits and if they're actually useful. Having Chadwick drag around rotting dragon bits for a few days is too funny to not have happen.
Hoid will carry the strongbox to the cart while others aid the blue man group. Once the blue man group is in the cart, Hoid will start hauling, with or without help.
The cart is loaded up with Belgger and Henilen as well as the strongbox and trophies from the dragon's carcass. It is wobbly and creaks threateningly, but works. Hoid and Chadwick have become beasts of burden and you slowly pull away from the ruins of the castle. After what feels like an eternity of this process and watching over your shoulders for any sign of pursuit the sun dips below the horizon. You crest a small hill and come upon the group of dead guardsmen. Back at the castle you can see the final rays of sunlight on top the tower at the castle.

Kragen is in good shape so I can spell Chadwick and Hoid, we can quickly rotate to try and keep fairly fresh.
during times I am not acting as an oxen, I will check in Henilen and Belgger, Gnueman condition.
Gneuman is doing well after drinking a healing potion and receiving the benefit of curing spells. Henilen is sitting up in the cart. He has Belgger leaning against him, helping cushion the ride for him.
Kragen rotates in to help pulling the cart. The corpses remain in place as you left them several hours ago. They appear undisturbed.
Is there anywhere nearby that would help obscure us as we set up camp? If not guess we travel a bit perpendicular to the path we've been following so we're not right on it.
I've got two cures left, so figure I should heal the lowest. I want to save one spell slot for a divine smite in case we are attacked by the Night Terror.
Gneuman shows 1 HP, assuming that's not accurate since it was posted above he drank a healing potion.

I don't know how many HP I got back from the potion, et all.
Hey all, I see a thin column of smoke ahead! It's a good distance north of us and appears to be near the river. I'm leery about investigating in our weakened state. They could be hostile, or be a friendly party. Even if they are friendly I would be hesitant to make contact in case that Nasty Night is pursuing us, I wouldn't want to bring innocent bystanders into it.

I will volunteer to scout it out. Im fast, im a good swimmer, I think I can make it.
I'm concerned about you being so far from the rest of the party in case you run into trouble. While we could have someone tail you further behind I'd rather not be splitting up the party since we are all so depleted.

It is 7 feet long with a 5-foot long tail. Several hundred pounds worth of carcass.
Hoid finishes his rest.

Hoid will pull or push the cart as the case may be.
Short rest completed. Healed 12 (9+3)
Any other details?

Are you continuing to travel? Or stopping at the corpses?
