++++ I was blown away by the effort Steve has put in for customization, backgrounds, and development
++ Owlbear was very useful in ensuring my "theatre of the mind" was not entirely off. Cover and movement were simple.
+++ D&D Beyond and its log were similarly a happy surprise. I had only used it to replace my books and hadn't dived into the character sheets and home-brew. All worked well.
0 No opinion on the forum. It worked. I had a bit of trouble figuring out the profile name/ character name/ real person but that was more of a me problem.
0 I see they have a dice roller and insertable code blocks in the menu. I think a significant opportunity for the platform would be stronger integration linking the character sheet and a tool for the forum.
- - This is also a me problem. But wanted to share. The asynchronous play is something I would need to work on. I would check after lunch or when I thought of it, but I know my engagement was probably much lower than everyone else. A push notification, as Jeremey mentioned, would at least bring it to attention.
- - - The one thing I do miss is the social aspects of gaming. Cursing fumbles and celebrating crits together is different. I understand with multiple time zones and schedules that live sessions might not be possible but that socializing is something I feel this format misses.
Another player would be fine by me, I will just need a table to track the people to their Beyond profiles
If we switch chat platforms I would like to be able to personalize our usernames so it's easier to track (or maybe automatic signatures). D&D beyond let's you change it, but you have to put in a support ticket.
There is plenty of room in the internet for another player. But only if, when they get angry, they say “**** you all, I’m walking home,” followed by one lap around the table before they storm out.
I will be home after about 1PM all day and checking online as regularly as I can for the next 3-4 days. If you are able to check in as well we can make some progress. Maybe even unite the party into a single group!
There was a bill posted at the Seven Sails Inn about a bard performing tonight as well. Big show. Not to be missed.....

Adding on to what Mat said about names/profiles;

I am currently running Erbert through the test solo. He will join your group soon.

One possible solution to the name problem is to title your post as I did.
I see what you did there!
The map has been reset for Erbert. We can watch from afar like those guys with big heads in the Star Trek episode (The Menagerie?).
The Triskellions. Buncha brains in jars. Were you bidding on Erbert? 🤣
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

I will be watching the Oregon v Washington game tonight and am not on call. So, I will be checking the thread regularly for anyone interested.
I’m without a clue what we should be doing. If anyone has an idea, speak up!
((Testing stuff......))
DM says, "follow the clues...."
