You find yourselves suddenly transported to this underground chamber by the wizard Xagyg. The room has finished stone walls, ceiling and floor. There is a single door to the south. The ceiling is about 10' high. Two suits of plate mail with wicked hooks and blades attached stand against the wall. The suit of armor to the right has a red gem inset into its breastplate. Written in dwarvish it says "Push Me" centered on the gem. The statue to the right has a green gem set in its helmet. Written in dwarvish around this gem it says "No, push me"
Hoid presses the gem on the forehead of the armor to the right. There is a satisfying click when he does so. The armor immediately punches him in the gut as it springs to life attacking him. Thankfully, Hoid’s armor stops the blow.

We will use this thread for out of character discussions.

If this was the chaotic evil adventure, I would know what to do …
Since I can barely read common, I'll wait for someone to tell me what it says.
Is the armor about my size, or is it dwarvish?
The armor is human sized.
Is there any outwardly visible sign that the door is or is not openable?
Looks like an iron banded, wooden door with a handle. No lock is evident.
Can anything be heard through the door?
All is silent other than the sounds your group is making.
Despite the flurry of activity from my compatriots, I am going to attempt to crack open the door to see what is on the other side.
The door handle is a simple handle, no mechanism to turn. The door does not budge.
I push the green gem before my compatriots can take any rash actions.
Hoid presses the gem on the forehead of the armor to the right. There is a satisfying click when he does so. The armor immediately punches him in the gut as it springs to life attacking him. Thankfully, Hoid’s armor stops the blow.

I try and knock it's head(helmet) off with my axe!
I'll try to bash the the suit of armor that punched Hoid.
I will attack with my great axe.
I will make these rolls and move forward.
For the next round try this:
Gneuman moves to the armor (doing so on Owlbear Rodeo) and attacks with his quarterstaff.
To Hit = 15, Damage = 9 (Rolls made on DnDBeyond character sheet and now in the Game Log)
(Final actions)
Gneuman's attack bounces off of the armor with no effect.
Trolkarl is up. The armor has partial cover from him due to your compatriots.
Hold then returns the attack with his great axe.
To Hit = 19, Damage = 8
His axe hits home and damages the armor. It does not seem affected by the damage caused.
Chadwick sees the aggressor and knows what to do. His great axe comes down on the armor.
To Hit = 9 he misses the armor altogether
The armor continues its attack on Hoid
To Hit = 23. The armor finds its mark this time and connects a solid punch against Hood for 7 damage.
(( Note, I just figured out that I was not sharing your rolls in the Game Log. That will show up from now on. Thus, our Practice Room. ))
Trolkarl is up. The armor has partial cover due to your compatriots.
I am using my move action to go east 25' and try to get a clear path, if I can do so safely without risking Hoid
Then I will use my attack action to Eldritch Blast the armor by calling on my connection with Darkbane to project a force blast
To hit: 17
Damage: 8, Force
The Blast is strong, but bounces off the armor.
