Hello all! Our newest players, this question is especially for you.
For nearly a year now I've had the pleasure of being a player in this community and I figure it's time I give something back as a DM. My idea is to make a simple dungeon crawl; something short, basic, and scalable for party sizes 1-6 of any class. Basically, just an introductory adventure players can complete in a couple weeks or maybe a month that gives them some RP and introduces them to the basic mechanics. Think of it as PbP boot camp.
There would be no follow on campaign. Just the PbP equivalent of a one-shot. It would be geared to the newest and least experienced players, not have a competitive application process, and reopen for new playthroughs as often as I can manage.
My question, and especially to the people who've recently been there, is this something that would actually be worthwhile? Or, is it better for a new player to start with a group that has plans to stick together for the long-haul?
