Oh I did not convince the High Priest... But at least the rest of the world indeed! Anyway, as far as the unpleasant guy is concerned, a nat 20 is not an automatic success, unless in attack rolls... in ability checks and saves, a nat 20 is just a 20... if it is not enough, it is a failure. Lol! So curious to see how this develops... 😉
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As the cultists of death suddenly apprears in the temple of Imater, the red-haired half-elven girl takes a step back, almost walking into her teacher hiding behind her. Yasmina is about to stop the gnome as she steps forward, tense over what will happen as she turns over her amazing cube. Could these people rid her of her curse? Would it be the right thing to do? The red-haired half-elven girl decides to disappear while finding out, stepping in behind a pillar.
Yasmina fades into the background almost flawlessly, but things seem to be taking a rather dangerous turn for everyone involved...
"Very good," Firion says with a wicked smile as he reaches a hand out towards the cube (yeah, not the most subtle guy in the world...)
The High Priest opens his mouth as if to say something, but closes it again. It's as if a sixth sense has told him that things are not as they appear. The other four priests, however, clearly have no idea that Duwamilly is trying to play a trick on the dark wizard...
"No!"one yells, throwing himself at Firion. "He cannot be allowed to take an artifact of such power!"
Priest 1 Athletics to grapple the dark wizard Firion: 8
Firion's Acrobatics to avoid being grappled: 3
Meanwhile, one of the Ilmatari priestesses attempts to grab the cube from Duwamilly's hand...
"Sister!"the priestess exclaims as she attempts to grab the cube. "Though the curse may be difficult to bear, you cannot allow these servants of darkness to take this power and use it for evil!"
The priestess, completely unaware of the gnome's ruse, attempts to grapple Duwamilly to prevent her from handing over the cube... and if she manages to touch the cube, she will be the victim of the plane shift!
Priestess' grapple attempt: 9
Everyone, please roll initiative!
We will enter normal initiative order after the two grapple attempts are resolved. You do not have to participate in the combat... but I want an order of actions. High Priest Alaion and Dark Wizard Firion get their own initiative, the priests and cultists each share an initiative block.
Duwamilly is too surprised by the priestess's reaction to be able to free herself, but she desperately tries to whisper to in time to the unfortunate woman, before she can touch the object: "Leave it to me. The only thing Frinion will have, is a good prank" and she winks furtively.
But in vain! The zealous priestess faces a fate that is decidedly excessive for her impulsiveness.
'I hope at least that Frinion, who was also busy with these grappling fanatics, didn't notice what happened...' thinks the gnome... who is by the way not exactly pleased with how a complete stranger felt entitled to use force (although non-lethal) on her to prevent her from freely disposing of a property she rightfully owned...

Cal brings the rod to his head and runs his hands across an ingrained run that begins to glow. A blade slides out as a the rod grows smaller. Once the rod is full extended he whispers a haunting tone and the blade lights ablaze. He charges at the head dark wizard.
Hidden behind the temple pillar, the red-haired half-elven girl desperately twists the sapphire ring on her finger, speaking quickly in a lowered voice. "My lord Amir, your humble servant needs you." And with the sound of a rolling thunder resounding through the great temple hall, her master appears before her, giving the half-elven girl a quick reassuring smile before turning on the darkclad agressors.
The mighty djinn then swiftly hover closer to the necromancer and unleashes a series of attacks with his massive scimitar crackling with furious electricity.
