Backstory: Trill was the first one in (1/2/4) to volunteer as tribute. She’d been training with this her whole life, learning to Kill before they learned to read, trying to live up to the districts standards. She is very eager to prove herself.
About me: new to this site, but love dnd! Love role playing, but I also know what’s best for my character.
Backstory: Agnes was raised on the plains of District 10, herding cattle. While some of the wealthier families of District 10 have jeeps and motorcycles to assist with their cowboy tasks, the humbler rely on their old stock of cow ponies. The best of the breeding lines of horses (also raised in District 10) go to the Capitol for show and pleasure, but the castoffs are used by the District 10 cowboys in their tasks. Agnes is the eldest daughter of one of these poorer families that rely on their cow ponies, and she was riding when she could barely walk, and was handling and cutting cows not long after that. Her younger brother was sent to work in one of the meat packing plants, but Agnes' skills with the animals kept her out in the fields with them. Dodging many an angry bull, calming anxious mothers with their calves, and shooting predators at the edges of the range to protect the herds helped to shape her skills.
Agnes dearly loves her mother, father, and brother, who are able to live a life more free than many residents of the districts. Her parents taught her the value of responsibility and always treating others with respect. She saw enough in the district, though, to feel a little jaded about that, and learned to watch the Peacekeepers and other troublemakers from an early age so that she could stay out of their way. One day, her brother came home having a breakdown, spending his weeks and months shooting cattle in the back of the head at the meat plant, he had seen another boy working in the plant fall into the machinery and no one even stopped to try and rescue him. "We're just cattle to them," he said darkly, and refused to go back to work. While he languished and Agnes' family scrambled to cover for him, Agnes determined she wasn't going to just be cattle, whatever it took. She rode her horse to the next Reaping straight out of the cattle range... only to hand the reins to a crying neighbor of hers as she walked silently up to the stage to accept her fate.
About Me: The Hunger Games is one of my favorite book series, much beloved for its capacity to show how people may maintain their human dignity and not become monsters in very morally compromising situations, and how even those with significant trauma and psychological handicap can still accomplish great good. I like the RP and story aspects of D&D, and seeing the dynamic that different players and characters bring to the adventure. It's also fun to test characters against each other in PvP, if things go that way! I like the idea of the stakes of forming alliances that could potentially be betrayed, but could also potentially create ironclad bonds of loyalty.
I lived a pretty decent life in district 5. Besides the rigorous training as a child and the sometimes hostile family values, we lived a good life and prepared me well for the time I'd be chosen. The training I went through was rigorous, days of living in the forest with only the nature to satiate my starvation with only a dagger to kill them. Using my innate knowledge of survival, I used whatever I could in nature to hide from both prey and predator.
One night, as I prepared for the day ahead, I was attacked by a grizzly bear. As I attempted to fight back it tore my ear clean off. Adrenaline coursing through me, I grabbed a dagger and plunged it into it's throat, throttling the knife through his neck. Bleeding out I searched for whatever I could to survive this encounter. I managed to scrounge enough natural resources I could to make a medicine that might at least halt the bleeding before I could return to my home.
When I returned, holding the ear of the bear as a sign of my triumph, they believed that this was the sign I was ready for the true test. And now that that time has finally come, I will ready myself for anything that challenges me.
About me: I am moderately aquainted with the rules of DnD, and I am mostly doing this because I am intrigued on writing a new story for the Hunger Games. Just thinking about everything that could happen sounds interesting and I can't wait to watch it all go down!

Probably till the end of this week.

In my opinion, hamburgers are pretty good.
Thank you all for waiting so patiently!
Sorry for the delay. I've been finishing up my college exams, but now I should be pretty much open.
Will still PM's within 2 days, and will start the campaign!
