Ok, so does the spellcasting feature do nothing, so it's just objectively better to be a martial class for more HP, features & Extra Attack? and i was looking at the moves-document in an earlier post and i'm not sure about the scalings, since Iron Head in the document is 4d8+Str, but on Arons sheet it's 1d4+str, so is there some form of scaling on everything to be aware of? And then finally, also in the document, (offensive) moves are often listed with an ability score, like psychic moves are wisdom from what i've seen, so if i wanted Espeon or Ralts (which I'm currently leaning towards), should i then prioritize Wisdom in character creation over the class regular main one (say Cha if i was to pick sorcerer)?
(also subclasses and/or feats available later on?)
I knew I was forgetting something when I was going through the Class features, the spellcasting feature would more or less stay the same except you don't need an arcane focus to use your moves (the moves that are spells). Depending on the subclass you pick some casters can be pretty good although the martial classes do have better HP, more extra attacks and more pre-subclass features. I admit that I messed up with the moves that are considered weapons, thank you for pointing it out to me, the 1d4+STR was the original weapon damage but the attack is actually 4d8+STR. You can prioritize Wisdom and if you want you can switch your scores around if you'd like.
Yes, subclasses and feats will be available later on.
Ok I'm still a bit unclear on how the conversion to moves works,
From how i understood it from the intro post & linked gm binder document, you get up to 4 moves, and they use PP (assumingly restored on long-rest?), but they don't have spell levels so I'm not sure how the non-weapon moves works, If for clarification example, I'm an lvl6 Eevee bard, i got Tackle (probably a weapon), Bite (probably also a weapon), Growl (probably a spell), and Swift (probably a also spell) aswell as picked the bard subclass with the Extra Attack feature at lvl6. Do I then have 20 uses of Swift as it has 20pp in the document, or do i have as many uses as i have spell slots of any level? And can I use Swift twice with Extra Attack or can i only use that feature if i use moves that's counted as weapons like Tackle & Bite? And if i Tackle instead, can i then Bite for my 2nd attack or does it have to be the same move(/attacking moves)? Or do all spell moves count as cantrips (if they don't have a level and only count PP)?, but then what use is there for pact/spellslots? Normally weapon attacks & spells are quite different, but with moves, they're pretty much the same regardless of if they're categorized as weapons or spells so that's why I'm unsure about how Extra Attack will work with moves.
(also a bit confused/concerned about damage&balance, if one starts with Tackle that is 1d6+Str, but another starts with Iron Head that is 4d8+Str, since that's quite a difference in damage outputs, and similarly if any enemies got such moves in the beginning, they'll instant-kill with every hit)
(Sorry for the delay, I've been working on a way to balance out attacks.)
For Spell moves there are a handful that I've transferred over that are leveled spells (most of those are 1st although there's one that is 2nd), I was thinking that when it comes to leveled ones that the first use could count towards the spell slot and then subsequent uses would use PP.(If a move has 20PP, the first would use 1PP and 1 spell slot.)When it comes to Extra Attack I would say that you could use Swift twice, Swift and Bite, Swift and Tackle, Swift and Growl, Bite twice, Bite and Tackle, Bite and Growl, Tackle twice or Tackle and Growl.
When it comes to damage and balance I was thinking of following the Type weakness chart. So Iron Head would be super effective against Ice, Rock and Fairy type (doing the full 4d8+STR), effective against Normal, Grass, Fighting, Poison, Ground, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Ghost, Dragon and Dark type (doing 1d8+STR), not effective against Fire, Water, Electric and Steel type (doing 1d4+STR). While Tackle would be effective against Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Ice, Fighting, Poison, Ground, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Dragon, Dark and Fairy type (doing 1d6+STR), not effective against Rock and Steel type (1d4+STR) and no effect against Ghost. There won't be many Fairy or Ice type enemies although there will be a handful of Rock types that may be encountered.
Not sure if you still want the Character Form, but i'm filling it just in case
Name- Wiggles
Race- Eevee (Using tabaxi stats)
Class- Monk
Background- Sage
Backstory- (still figuring out this part, something along the lines of: Wiggles the red scarfed Eevee is a researcher of Types trying to further their understanding of how & why it works (especially types Eevee can't evolve into), and this area is known for an abundance of ghost & dark types as well as a strong dragon type making it their home)
(I assume every 1 D&D level is equal to 5 pkmn levels for move learning/selection, so i'll start with Tackle, Covert, Wish(egg move) & Sand Attack, I've added them to the sheet but you might want to double check so it all seems right, not sure how Wish works though since it specifies switching, so can it be cast on others or is that mechanic also ported over somehow?). Also one last clarification, it said in the feature list Monks keep their Martial Arts feature, I assume it's only the "Use Dex or Str for non-spell attacks" half, and not the "if you attack with your action, you can attack with your bonus action too" half of it?
Edit: I know you said we're using type strengths/weaknesses, but are we using STAB too for when using moves that matches your type?
Your sheet looks good. When it comes to Wish I'm going to say that it can be used on others. I was thinking maybe it could be used on any of your fellow party members who haven't had a turn yet in the round that it's used but what do you think?
Yeah, I meant the use DEX or STR for non-spell attacks half. Although I know that the if you attack with your action, you can attack with your attack with your bonus action too half is also quite useful.
Yes, we'll also be using STAB as well as typing strengths and weaknesses. {I almost forgot that STAB was a thing...}
Seems weird if it's usefulness will be Initiative dependent so i can't heal anyone that rolled higher than me, I was thinking of some way to use the recipients turn, but i think the simplest&cleanest way to use it, is just that it's casted on my turn, and it's triggered at the end of my next turn (like how wish Usually works) regardless of who it's targeting.
Only thing is, do we rule it like pokemon games where there is only 1 active at a time, so it can't be recasted on the 2nd turn before it's triggered or do we say the countdown is per-target so it can't be recasted on the target that's about to get healed but can be cast on others?
Yeah, running it how it normally works sounds better now that I think about it. The initiative thing I came up with was actually kind of lame and wouldn't be nearly as helpful.
While running it like in the game would be the logical way of doing it I think the countdown per target would work better.
I know the original post said the cut-off date was the 20th, but it seems like this is still open, so I guess I'm wondering if you are still looking for more players. If you are, I am interested.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hello DM. I'm in the same CoS campaign you are currently playing (I'm Vicky). I had an idea and I'm just gonna roll stats and see if I can work with anything. I've decided to give a specific order to determine some ideas for species.
In the order Str, Dex, Con, Int, Wis, Cha: Ability scores: 101213121415

Look at it! Beauty! A spoiler!
Look what you've done, spoiling it for you and everyone who can see this screen. You're a disgrace, you know that, right? You have nothing to be ashamed of but yourself, you moster!
But to be completely fair, every monster has a cute side, like have you seen people draw goblins? Goblins look so cool! You're fine, you may seem like a monster, but I bet you're cute on the inside!
Backstory: Raxeel was born into a small family of Riolu and Lucario, his mum, his dad, and a younger sister. Raxeel took a path of town guard for Waterdeep at a young age, and a slightly corrupt and power-hungry mentor taught him to channel the aura he gives off not to empower his own attacks, but to curse others by 'poisoning' their aura. Raxeel continued to learn this, and was told of a way to transform oneself into a dangerous canine. He was taught a small selection of this process, but was taken into Barovia prematurely, leaving him to discover the rest when he levels up enough.

Endure, Quick Attack and Feint are the moves in my moveset for PokéLevel 5, so what do weapons do? Also, I am going to change my class (and backstory) and add more detail to everything.
