Under the raging storm clouds, the vampiric Noivern Count Strahd von Zarovich perches silhouetted against the ancient walls of the Castle Ravenloft. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind's howling increases as he turns his gaze down towards the village of Barovia.
Far below, yet not beyond his keen senses, a party of adventurers has just entered his domain. Strahd's face forms the barest hint of a smile as his dark plan unfolds. He knew they came- all according to his plan.
A lightning flash rips through the darkness, but Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind fills the midnight air. The master of Castle Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited.
Hello everyone, I thought I tried putting a new spin on an old classic. So I'm here today looking for 5/6 brave adventurers to take on Curse of Strahd set in Pokémon mystery dungeon. It'll follow the standard Curse of Strahd story but all of the characters and enemies will be Pokémon. I will be keeping this open until January 20th. {I used a number generator to see what Pokémon every NPC would be so I apologize in advance if some of them don't really make much sense.}
Character Creation:
- Characters will start at level 1 {Although in Pokémon levels you'd be level 5}
- We'll be using exp to level up (I know it's usually done by milestone for Curse of Strahd but I wanted to change things up a little.)
- Stats can either be rolled (reroll 1's once), standard array or point buy
- All characters will begin with an extra 10 Pokébucks (Gold) as well as what their background gives them and starting equipment. {For this game starting equipment will consist of:
1 set of clothes (could be a hat, scarf, ribbon, bow or an actual article of clothing like a dress, shirt or pants)
1 'escape' rope
Rations (a week's worth of varies berries)
and Leftovers (think of it as an infinite potion of healing)
Character Form:
Name-
Race- {can be any Pokémon you want to be. Oh and when you're creating your character sheet you can uses whichever dnd race you want for your stat modifiers.}

I have a few questions before I create a character, though:
- Which generation movesets are we using?
- If I choose a Pokemon that has multiple forms (ex. Oricorio), will I be able to switch forms at will when the requirements are met, and do I get moves upon form change (ex. Rotom, US/UM moveset)?
- How will trade or friendship evolutions work?
- Should I roll for stats in this thread?

Forever healer syndrome. Affected characters: Lutz Winsor (changeling shepherd druid), in the Turn of the Fortune's Wheel Tyrin Othenos Aubrey (tiefling scout), in the War of the Burning Sky Trill "Tritone" Aeolian Aberystwyth (v. human wild magic sorcerer/bard), in Camp Half-Blood
- While the source material I am using to transfer the moves into spells, weapons and other items only goes up to generation seven we'll be using movesets from all of the current generations even though I'll have to wing it for moves from gen eight and nine.
- Yes, you would be able to switch forms at will when the requirements are met and you can get moves that fit it as well.
- When it comes to evolving with friendship it will be based on the friendship between the pokémon and a specific party member (which can be discussed beforehand between players.) When it comes to trade based evolutions if it was required to be holding a specific item while trading all it would need is the item in question, while if it was purely through trade there will be a special item that will allow the pokémon to evolve without trading.
- Yes you can roll for stats here and if you don't like the results you can do either point buy or standard array.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Cool, thanks!

That it does, evolutionary stones can be found in various story locations and in the shops in Vallaki. Although some of them may be harder to find than others.
- Will you allow multi-classing once we gain a few levels?
- How does language/weapon proficiencies fit into this?
- Will Pokemon type advantages/disadvantages be a thing?

- Multi-classing is allowed when we're leveled up.
- Weapon proficiencies will factor into the attacks (some of them I've turned into weapons while others are in the forms of spells and magical items.) while language proficiencies will play a slight factor in it, every type knows common and at least one other language(or more depending on what background you choose). {Ex. A dragon type would normally know common and draconic.}
- Yes type advantages and disadvantages will be a thing.

Sorry about that, when I said exp I meant XP. But also here's an example:

Sadly yes but I do have something that can help with that.
It only goes up to Sun and Moon attacks though.

I'm working on that just in case.
I only had room to make four but here are the links to the four I've made. {I'll be working on more attacks in the form of items and magic tomorrow}
