Thalressa pops up with the surge of the warm feeling that comes with the healing magic "WOW, Watch out for the be.... wait is it over?" Rubbing her shoulder where the bear nearly got her dead, she seems a bit unnerved by everything. "I didn't realize bears were the violent in this part of the woods. Back home they are docile. Did we find the mayor at least?"
Vilk shook his head in response to Thalressa's question. "There is much and more that you both missed out on." Vilk then took the time to explain all that had happened after the bear, to the goblin, the map and to the present. "I feel we should take the night to gather food and plan our actions." He then held up the map, "And take a look at this map." He looked to all his companions readying himself for a night of preparation.

Just as quickly the group stumbles into the conversation they all stumble off to find food for the night. As they go walking everyone thinks about their encounters of the day and just what might have happened. Vilk and Thalressa realize that the mother bear was not acting normal, but was seemingly overprotective (if that is even possible for mother bears) and seemed to be running from something. Thalressa also realized she got a glimpse of fear in the bear's eyes just as she got knocked out that seemed to hint at something bigger than it that it might have been running from. During this realization, Ivor also noticed that the goblin they slain had a strange mark on his upper arm which he ruled out to be a tattoo, but was actually slightly glowing red, just faint enough to miss at first glance, and was in the shape of a large tooth. As the group, however, comes back to the camp with about only a measly portion for everyone, (just barely enough for one meal each, so a long rest is still possible) they all place down their goods in the designated location and come to these realizations as they stop to prepare the food.
While the food is being prepared, Kazander snaps a bit of incense off the end of one of his incense sticks and tosses it into the small campfire. As the thin smoke changes colors, a faint sweet aroma filters up, and the half-elf waves the smoke over his face and hair. "Thank you for your watchfulness and your provision, Lady Tyche. Be close to me and to my compatriots, as we remember that fortune favors the bold." He kisses his fingertips and touches them to the tattoo on his cheek. After his devotions, he leans back and plucks a soft tune.
"I am a poor, wayfaring stranger While journeying through this world of woe Yet there's no sickness, toil or danger In that bright land to which I go I'm going there to see my mother I'm going there no more to roam I'm only going o'er the horizon I'm only going over home."

Coming back from with nothing to show for his work. Vilk learned that one must not look to mountains for food, for it is a baron waste of upheaval land. With nothing left to do he sat down and pulled out a small flask filled with a type of dwarven whiskey. After taking a quick swig he put the flask away staring intently at the map trying to decipher the inarticulate map.

The map is fairly straight forward and simply shows that the group needs to go down the path to the South East and that it switches back to the due east to end at a small grove labeled "BASE" where it also says in smaller print, "Be back by Dusk" below the base. It offers no other detail and the group decides to fall asleep for the night in their still set up tents after the measly meal. When everyone wakes up the next morning the sun shines upon the new fallen snow again from the night which now covers the entire campsite with 1 foot of snow and 2 feet in the rest of the forest, deer tracks run through the camp, but nothing else is disturbed. The group then sets off to the South East to rescue the mayor who is probably wondering if he has been abandoned.
As Vilk is making his way south he will take point. No need for another amush to happen. Vilk remained vigilant this time not letting anyone get to far ahead of him.

After about 2 hours of travel, matched exactly by the map's winding trail, the group comes across a huge wall of holly and from their spot they can hear 2 goblins to their left about 60 feet that are talking rather loudly and seemingly chatting away about the biggest owlbear they have ever seen. Vilk has to stifle a laugh as he notices they are very distracted and would be easy to creep up upon but suspects that this is the base the map is talking about. It seems to be 100 feet long on this side which curves around slightly and then takes a sharp turn at the end, making this side of the grove a curve side outwards. There is enough room in the underbrush of the grove to be able to make a stealth check for anyone who wishes to walk forward.
Thalressa seems to be quite engaged by Kazander. Maybe it's his charming ways... or perhaps she's learned her lesson. One might find it hard to tell.
Watching Kazander move forward with his sword drawn towards the goblins and Vilk drawing his bow she will follow suite drawing her bow. "Can't let a pretty face go to waste, We'll provide support from here."
Kazander tosses a quick grin and a wink over his shoulder at Thalressa, and nearly trips over his feet before catching himself with a graceful -- and mostly silent -- pirouette. He thinks, "It's so hard to be quiet when people pay you to be fabulous..."

Ivor moves in front of Kaz, and sneaks forward. Unfortunately, Ivor doesn't seem to be able to still the clanking of his shield quite as well as he would like. [8]
Not wanting to waste the opportunity, Vilk pulled back and arrow and took a moment to control his breathing. A wolf must always strike fast. Once ready he let loose and arrow at one of the goblins striking it in the arm! (damage 4) With that he knew the group was ready and pulled another arrow forth and began to line up his next shot.

Thalressa knocks back an arrow, and take careful aim. Time almost seems to slow as her breathing becomes heavy, and lets out a final breath as she lets the arrow soar. The arrow flys with deadly accuracy, finally landing in the back of the goblins head. The green creature hits the ground without making a sound.
As Vilk's arrow flies swiftly into the other goblin's leg, the goblin cries out as his companion has been killed and loudly shouts "Enemies are here, they killed Marty!" From inside can be heard "Dammit, he owed me 10 gold coins" and the rumbling of about 3 other goblins. The combat begins with everyone rolled initiative and the order is below.

As well, they hear from inside "You two, guard the prisoner, I will handle this myself" This voice is more commanding and seems to be the leader.
The half-elf strides out from his hiding place with a flourish of his rapier. "Haha! Look, Ivor -- they brought you a puppy! Isn't that sweet? What big eyes the little puppy has - all the better to shoot him in!" The wolf yelps as the words bore into its mind with a wracking pain.

Ivor sees a small flower appear on the wolf, as well as an arrow, before he finally reaches something to swing his weapon at. Ivor attacks the wolf, attempting to aim at the flower that appears to be paining the wolf, but he misses the small target.
