OOC: Challenge the DM, you can still attack this guy at range or you can chase him, or let him go. My challenge is to interpret the adventure author's intent and then to balance the player's choices. In this case, the author wants you guys to chase the ruffian to his hideout and to explore the manor as the Chapter 2 dungeon. But after reading the party's choices, that's leading us into Chapter 3 and the optional encounters section for side quests. I'm prepared for going out of order, I just need a consensus on the direction you guys want to go. Let's take a vote:
Edit: btw, this split path is totally normal and ch 3 isnt a significantly higher challenge than ch 2 all three options are about the same.

A frustrated huff escapes Daewen's lips as another ranged attack went wide. Enough of this dance! she thinks, slinging her pack off with practiced ease. With a smooth motion, she unlatches her bow case, nocks an arrow, and draws the string back with lightning speed. The fleeing ruffian became her sole focus, the string singing as she lets the arrow fly.

She rolls over one of the dead ruffians, and takes off its red cloak, putting it on herself. Twirling around, she winks at her teammates who look on in apparent abhorrence. Her disguise, though, is on point!
