The summertime is peaceful in the town of Stonpond, as any normal summer should be. Birds singing. Flowers blooming. It's a paradise and premier tourist spot. During the summer, something changes. Spreading from the lake nearby, into the forest and the town, an unnatural crimson colored mist appears without warning and covers much of the land, strong enough to block out the sun, causing the land to become dark and cold.
A peaceful summer soon turns into mayhem, as people begin to mysteriously grow frail and drop dead, and the local public is in hysteria.
Will you find the source of the fog and bring back summer?
Hello, hello! Thank you for stopping by and checking this out. I'm fairly new to DMing, so this boss fight-focused adventure I've cooked up is a test run to see if I can handle the task! Searching for 5 level 10 PC's, and all sourcebooks and content is allowed! As is homebrew, just send it past me first. Please put your character's info below, a long with a character sheet, if you have one, with the following information.
Name
Race
Class
Background
Backstory (Short and sweet, please. But it can be as long as you wish!)
Monk (way of the Open hand, but I want to do way of the kensei, I just don't have access to that. I will if you add me to an active campaign)
Soldier
Tradithas was raised by half-elf parents in Stonpond. After leaving to embark on an illustrious adventuring career (he saved an entire town from a hoard of undead), he decided to return home. Tradithas has always been a lone soul, preferring to work alone, but having spent some time as a soldier prior to his adventuring career, he understands the importance of working with others.
Tradithas is in Stonpond after deciding to return for the summer.

Current Character(s): Marcon Domine level 2 monk in Lost Mine of Phandelver
Current Campaigns: Icewind Dale: Rime Of the Frostmaiden, Princes of the Apocalypse
Four things I hate in D&D: People who think the tarasque is the most powerful (an empyrean or kraken can beat it), players trying to seduce bad guys (it's funny though), when a monster roles a NAT 20 (everyone hates that), rolling a NAT 1 (everyone hates that)
Current Campaign(s): Dungeons, Darkness, Drow, and Demons, an Out of the Abyss Adventure, Dungeon Delvers, a Dungeon of the Mad Mage Adventure, Jungle of Evil, a Tomb of Annihilation Adventure
Vaalsh Bramblescorn Satyr Celestial Warlock Folk Hero
Backstory and reason for being in Stonpond Vaalsh grew up at a farm close to Stonpond when the crops were still growing straight and life was simple. Early on, she found that there was something watching over her, guiding her steps through the world. This mysterious patron gave her powers which she could use to heal or harm. After some early missteps and outbursts, Vaalsh gradually learned how to control her gifts and started using them to help people. She is especially adept at understanding all sorts of creatures, even things thought dead and gone. Now that the scarlet mist has appeared, it seems that she must abandon her peaceful existence and stand against the darkness threatening her home, together with the other heroes the realm can muster.
His name was given for his duty. Whoever he was before, he is no longer, or perhaps never really was. He's a Ley Walker, a member of a specific order devoted to guarding the fringes of the world. Some go their whole lives without a need to fulfill their duties. Others stand on the cusp of disaster and fight to protect the multiverse.
It's a job -- no more or less important than a guardsman, just with a wider range and far fewer men to patrol it. 'Tis a lonely duty, but one its members are keen to adhere to.
Hearing of this strange and lethal affliction to the land, he fears the presence of an interplanar incursion. He is here to both resolve this and to ensure the source does not come from another plane or realm. He will aid the people there, if he can, but his first and foremost concern is to find the source of this hellious disturbance.
Backstory: Fran was orphaned when monster hunters set fire to her hamlet to kill a vampire. She was saved by heroes, and latter got to testify against the group. She has been trained by the heroes to be one of the next generation of heroes. She is haunted by her past, and works hard to ensure that doesn't happen to anyone else.
Why is your character in Stonpond? She heard rumors of the red mist and has come to investigate.
Are we just going to keep it at five, or are we doing all six of us? Because (assuming I have any say) I vote six.

Gwylla Half-Elf Wizard Cloistered Scholar Left by her birth parents to the care of an unloving master, Gwylla grew up lonely, with no friends but her books. Once she grew to her majority she began searching the land for spells of power, and is passing through Stonpond following up on a rumor, and is intrigued and concerned about the rumors of the mist.
Backstory: ex-mercenary, was an orphan raised in the slums of the bustling port city of Stormhaven. With few opportunities for a better life, Thane turned to a life of crime, joining a notorious band of mercenaries known as the Iron Paws. Under their leader, Thane learned to survive by any means necessary, honing his skills as part of their vanguard. But when a botched mission resulted in the deaths of innocent bystanders,Thane decided he could no longer be a pawn in the game, instead choosing a life of a freelance adventurer and sword for hire.
Why is your character in Stonpond? He came in as a guard to a trade caravan and is not looking for adventuring work. Rumors led him to believe there would be fortune and renown in here .
