Hey all. BorivikStormwind/MirikSianoddel here. I'm going to start a new Play-by-post post. I will be DM-ing Dungeon of the Mad Mage, using the Hunt for Magic Items and Spell books. I need 4 to 6 level 5 characters. Recruitment will end tomorrow. I'm prioritizing anyone who is not in my current campaign, as well as those who expressed interest in my last campaign but were not chosen. All official sources are allowed. And not the Core +1 rule. You can use multiple supplemental books if you'd like. In this thread, please give the following:

PM me your character sheet. Any ability score generation method is okay.

Current Character(s): Marcon Domine level 2 monk in Lost Mine of Phandelver
Current Campaigns: Icewind Dale: Rime Of the Frostmaiden, Princes of the Apocalypse
Four things I hate in D&D: People who think the tarasque is the most powerful (an empyrean or kraken can beat it), players trying to seduce bad guys (it's funny though), when a monster roles a NAT 20 (everyone hates that), rolling a NAT 1 (everyone hates that)
While working the streets of Waterdeep as a pickpocket, Psalm was apprehended by a canny halfling noble who turned out to be an established confidence artist. She saw potential in the young, audacious fellow and decided she'd find a use for him. Working together, they traveled the realm, pulling schemes in every major city they came across. She taught him the tools of the trade and he managed to be one of the only people she ever met who could genuinely make her laugh. All that came to an end they day they returned to Waterdeep to pull a job Psalm had heard about from his network of contacts in the Xanathar Guild. Against his mentor's advice, they attempted to con some high-ranking members of the guild. Things turned sour faster than they expected. Psalm escaped with his life. His mentor did not. He doesn't know exactly what happened to her, but he knows it wasn't good. Desperate to move forward and push the guilt out of his mind, the tiefling rogue has enjoyed a number of adventures on his own, adding to his wealth (and his self-authored "legend") while perpetually developing his library of false identities.

Character Back Story.: Her parents lived in the prosperous village of Thundertree, east of the city of Neverwinter and at the edge of the Neverwinter Wood. But when nearby Mount Hotenow erupted thirty years ago, her parents fled. The magic offset from the eruption caused her hair to turn white. Her family drifted from village to village around the region, finding work as laborers where they could. She learned the languages of several different peoples. She got used to raising and working with animals and getting by in the natural world. She has spent the last few years in Neverwinter as a carpenter working at the city’s bustling docks. But it was clear to her and everyone around her that she are destined for much more. She stood up to an abusive ship captain once, so other dockworkers looked up to her. Someday, she would come into her own. She would be a hero. After taking a trip to Stormwreck Isle and helping the monastery of kobolds with some problems on the island, she was taught ancient ways of dragon martial arts by an adult Bronze Dragon. Now she travels the world looking for further learnings of these lost and ancient ways. Here travels lead her to Waterdeep where she was told that in the undermount lost secrets are held.
Character Back Story: Ea was always a very curious child so one day when she was five she stumbled upon a mysterious creature, who seemed very friendly, so they struck up a conversation. When Ea mentioned her interest in magic, the figure asked her more about it and eventually revealed that they could help her explore her interest more. Ea, having no reason not to trust this person, agreed. Although, what she didn’t know was that she just agreed to serve this patron. As she grew up, and eventually understood what she did, she figured that she couldn’t change what her young self did so she decided to use the powers she had been granted. She now travels, gaining knowledge and expanding her powers, while hoping to find her patron again, so she can first punch them in the face for tricking her, and then question them.

Name: Zvezdza
Race: Astral Elf
Class: Druid/Sor (Stars/Lunar)
Backstory:
Zvedza was born somewhere in the Astral Sea drifting among the stars on a moderately sized colony. Having always been drawn to the stars and wandering, he eventually left that simple community of meditative scholars behind for a life adrift outside of time.
Eventually something in him developed a craving to be anchored to something, to act and influence rather than simply chart and observe the unchanging stars. The formative experience that probably impacted him the most in that regard was an encounter with the divine essence of a dead god fate, Tyche, sundered in twain yet not, existing simultaneously as a whole, yet dormant deity and the twin goddesses Besheba and Tymora. He found himself fascinated by the concept of fate in general, and that the minds of men could sunder it in two. How could the future be known and written, a predictable pattern like the movement of the stars, and yet so easily influenced by belief?
His travels with more purpose took him hitchhiking through the Astral Sea to eventually land in Evermeet and from there to Waterdeep. He still doesn’t quite have his land legs. The air is heavier, the ground drags at him, and time zips by in a breathless whirl. But he’s getting the hang of it.

Pc: Salus Race: Custom lineage human Class: Celestial Warlock Salus grew up rather poor, in the slums. The neighborhood seemed to tolerate his family. His adolescence was spent doing odd jobs, anything to gain some coin, which was quickly spent in the local tavern or alleyways for one substance or another. This led down a darker path of thievery and low level crime. Although he didn't have a luxurious life he still managed to share some of his ill gotten gains with beings even worse off than himself. One fateful night he ran into a debt collector to be truly honest he didn't even know for who he was collecting. He didn't have the coin to pay him off, let alone anymore than a few copper pieces. The usual beat down took a grim turn when Salus fell face first or a sharp rock. The collector heard a loud crack and knew it was bad, didn't think for a second more and fled the scene. With the only thing that gained weight being not his coin purse but his conscience. Salus fading in and out of reality saw a blinding light, a big hulking man with wings stood before him. Even though he felt his face touching earth, it felt like the man was a few feet before him. He introduced himself as a Solar. The monologue that the Solar touched on many subjects ranging from wasted potential to forgotten morals but also on glimmers of hope. He offered Solus one final chance to start again, blank slate. Solus knew if it wasn't for this being he would have died on the spot. Salus accepted, not knowing what this would entail. The Solar gave a quick rundown of the powers bestowed on Salus, and if he were to go in the right direction he would gain even more. The Solar disappeared leaving Salus wondering what the right direction would be. Salus wants to try and help a party survive, while getting his thrill through combat instead of substances,

We're up to five. I will close this tonight. Looking for one more. It seems we'll have a lot of tieflings. And I'm loving the two monks.
