Meroki chuckles lightly, realizing the simplicity of Zvedza's suggestion. "Ah, right. Much easier than defacing the dungeon walls," he remarks, sheepishly stowing away his hammer and piton.
Sosen will slowly estimate about 10 feet away from the wall and walk along the 4 walls... looking for any significant things... seams, huge painted glyphs, fancy inlay, peeling posters, arrow slots. "I still can't focus after that fall," she thinks worriedly as she skirts the walls. "More time will help it clear?"
The midnight blue elf turns to Psalm, “If you think we missed something, I have a little magic to give you some good luck searching. Otherwise I think I’m ready if everyone else is.”
((For mapping, Zvedza has and is proficient with Navigation tools and Survival as a skill. Hopefully, he’ll do ok. He’ll be relying on his 16 Passive Perception for rear guard and casting guidance on himself periodically to help him keep track of the map.))
(OOC: I rolled so low for Meroki he is convinced there is nothing worthwhile inside the first chamber and he is ready to lead the group forward. AKA: Meatshield. So if anyone has anything else to do inside the room, he will wait. He'll take any help he can get in terms of investigation and perception checks, tho)
((Just high five Zved any time you want Guidance XD. No reason no to share. We can change up marching order and have Zved second since he's mapping. That way he can buff Meroki?))
The midnight blue elf turns to Psalm, “If you think we missed something, I have a little magic to give you some good luck searching. Otherwise I think I’m ready if everyone else is.
Psalm, (who has been busy this whole time practicing his Thaumaturgy to give his eyes just the right amount of infernal "spark"when he wants to execute the perfect winning grin) isn't entirely listening when Zvedza starts speaking to him. He catches on fast though. "Well now, I'll never say no to a little bit of extra luck, though skillful searching isn't exactly my forte. More of a 'sneak right in and deal with the consequences later' sort, but I'll do my best."
Psalm accepts the offer of Guidance and gives a careful study of the room... Investigation + Guidance: 19

Psalm, even with divine help, sees nothing out of the ordinary in the room. However, after searching through a pile of sand in the northeast corner of the room, he finds what looks to be a really intricately carved stone mouse. Closer examination reveals that the mouse is not a statuette, but it is instead a petrified mouse.
OOC: Later on, casting LesserRestoration or RemoveCurse on the mouse will remove it's petrified condition, if anyone wants a pet mouse.
Current Campaign(s): Dungeons, Darkness, Drow, and Demons, an Out of the Abyss Adventure, Dungeon Delvers, a Dungeon of the Mad Mage Adventure, Jungle of Evil, a Tomb of Annihilation Adventure
Meroki will show his disgust at the sight of the petrified pest. And after a moment of feeling pity for it, he'll just say "Heh... Lovely foreshadowing of things to come. But, honestly... this just fills me with more determination" as he prepares to move forward.
Suddenly, a 6 and a half foot tall Thri-keen with a yellow and black exoskeleton, blue and green iridescent compound eyes, two swords strapped to his back and two handaxes strapped to his narrow waist lands behind you. Despite his insectide appearance, the thri-keen is obviously muscular.
"My name is Chak-tha. I was in the tavern when the lot of you went down. After seeing your fighter not going down, I decided 'why not partake in some adventure?' Thus here I am. I've been down here before, and lived to tell the story. I know the dungeon pretty well up until the 10th level, so I can act as a guide for you. I can also hold my own in combat. What say you?"
Current Campaign(s): Dungeons, Darkness, Drow, and Demons, an Out of the Abyss Adventure, Dungeon Delvers, a Dungeon of the Mad Mage Adventure, Jungle of Evil, a Tomb of Annihilation Adventure
Zvedza tucks the mouse into a pouch if no one else takes it and brightens in surprise at the sudden appearance of the large insectoid man and issues a series of strange noises from his mouth that seem nearly impossible for him to make. {Thri-Kreen} Chak-tha, well met. I'm Zvedza. Good to meet you.
Ea, pleasantly surprised by the joining of another party member, especially one who has experience, gladly welcomes him in. “Nice to meet ya, Chak-tha! I'm Ea, welcome aboard!” She says as she throws out her hand for a handshake.
Psalm smiles and bow in greeting to Chak-tha. "Well met, fellow traveler. Always good to have another ally, especially one with some degree of experience in a place like this. As they say, 'many hands makes lighter work.'" Then, turning to the others he asks, "Shall we?"

After all the introductions, Meroki will begin to move forward, calling upon Zvedza for his guidance along the way.
"I'm assuming we will be moving slowly and quietly, yes? I'll do my best" he says as he contemplates that maybe he overpacked rations, and chuckles to himself.
(OOC; I'm just gonna roll for stealth and roll for Investigation as we move forward using guidance for the inv checks)
DM: You come into a large, 20 foot wide hallway. There are Bas-reliefs of demons covering the walls. On the floor, a kenku skeleton lies, pointing toward a bas-relief of a nalfeshnee on the south wall.
Chak-tha moves into the hall. "I recognize this room. I can tell you that, while I know the fastest way to the next level, I also understand that you are not here just to explore, but to find magic items and such. However, it is important that we do move through quickly. One should never linger on any level of this dungeon."

"If you've been here before, that's a great boon. And yes, I am looking for any magical items worthwhile to fund my life project. What say you all? I wish to explore this floor for any treasure that hasn't been found yet."
Following Meroki's lead, Zvedza moves carefully, boosting him with magic as requested. "Well that's concerning." Noting the Kenku and looking for obvious wounds. Zvedza looks for writing on any of the demonic statues and keeps his head clear of their mouths.

Following the lead of the others, Ea tries her best to move quietly while also keep an eye out for anything that could be useful or anything hidden.
(My stealth check was also really bad so I'm assuming she does something clumsy and makes a lot of noise or something)
