After the destruction wrought by the Chroma Conclave and Kevdak, Westruun was left less than a shadow of its former glory. That was, until the appearance of the League of Miracles. With the help of their Adranaches the city was restored but left in great debt. Still, the city entered an age of renewed prosperity. The people of Tal'dorei flocked to the city and the city which was beginning to claw its way out of the pit of debt.
Until last week, when someone broke into the vault and claimed the city's entire treasury. That's where you come in. Lord Mayor Lysandra Kallos has hired you and a group of other investigators to find the stolen coin and bring the robber to justice.

Hello! After reading through the Tal'dorei Reborn Campaign setting and watching the Legend of Vox Machina, I've felt inspired to create a campaign in the world of Exandria. I've also been looking to try a pbp game, so it seems like the perfect opportunity! I've been running games for about 5 years now, much of that in text-based form over Roll20. I've also run two 1-on-1 pbp campaigns on discord but now I'm looking to try it with a bigger party! I've got a few ideas for a few overarching plots so this could go on for quite a while! I'd also be very happy to involve your backstories in the plot.
What I'm looking for is 4 players who can respond at least once a day, preferably more. I completely understand if things happen and you'll be busy for a few days, and that's no problem so long as you give me a heads-up. The game will be played over Discord using the Avrae bot. We may shift to dndbeyond maps or roll20 for a shorter period if there's an intense combat encounter where positioning is important, but most of it will be over discord. The game will start at level 3. All official content is allowed, as well as everything from the Tal'dorei Reborn. Tasha's alternative race rules aren't allowed. Stat-generation is rolling, with a few modifications to make it a little more balanced, but I'll give you some details about that once you've been accepted.
If this interests you, then send me a pm with character details for application. Use the following form for the details:
Your name/what you want to be called (pronouns): Marashar (she/her)
Age 40+
Where you are from (Timezone): Germany (GMT+1)
Your Dnd/roll20 history: something like 30 years D&D, both as player and DM, and about 10 years on Roll20
Character name: Nafira Jaziri
Race: Water Genasi (more precisely, her mother claims a marid got her pregnant)
Class and subclass: Druid, Circle of Stars (but can easily be switched to Warlock with J'mon Sa Ord as patron or cleric), Faction Agent Background
Alignment: neutral good
Short backstory description: Nafira is a healer, and has been trained in the art from early childhood. While her ability to produce water on command has been admired much in her homeland, few people there could help her further her talents in that regard. Since healers are usually welcome everywhere, she had already been asked to keep her eyes and ears open for Ank’Harel's ruler, and when she decided to travel, it was understood she would continue in this role in return for passage over the sea. She is not a hardened spy - first and foremost, she is a healer and just naturally curious. But she is also aware that the world has been changing and that information might well be the key to the survival of her homeland. She is also willing to undertake any task that does not compromise her oath as a healer.
As a personal side quest, she would love to find out more about her father - she does not quiet believe her mother's rather fanciful story, but she can't deny that her powers are unusual for her culture.
Your name/what you want to be called (pronouns): Ben/Ben 😊, he/him
Age: 49
Where you are from (Timezone): Stuttgart, Germany
Your Dnd/roll20 history: I BGen playing D&D version one a long time ago!😁 took a long break and I’ve gotten back into it online as an adult in the last year or so.
Character name: Draugluin Shadowed
Race: Variant Tiefling (winged)
Class and subclass: Wizard, Chronurgy Magic
Alignment: lawful neutral
Short backstory description:
Bio: "Honestly," Draugluin thinks to himself, "everybody wants to be special and unique until it comes time to be the only one of your kind in a crowd." The only thing Draugluin learned from his blue skin was that others don't like blue skin. At least he was born with wings, that was the only saving grace passed down to him by whichever one of his ancestors decided to get busy with Asmodeus, the "super-scary" overlord of the Nine Hells. Life was hard enough, he didn't understand why people make it even harder on themselves. Don't want to get bullied? Learn to defend yourself. Don't want to feel powerless? Bust your butt and gain power. Don't want your family slaughtered by wolves? Don't live in the woods. Don't want vampires to kill your kids? Don't live where there are vampires, or don't have kids; honestly, either works. Tired of living off the land as a farmer? Don't be a farmer. It's not that hard. Ever since Draugluin left home to pursue magic, his life has gotten better and better. Although his family life was pretty good actually. He gets home when he can to visit is parents and the rest of the time he studies magic and goes on adventures; he found out he was pretty good at both.

Character name: Ironclad
Ability Scores: How do you want these done?
Race: Warforged
Class and subclass: Fighter, Champion
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Description:
Ironclad stands tall at six and a half feet, with a sturdy, well-built frame made of gleaming metal. His body is adorned with intricate etchings and markings, evidence of the skilled craftsmanship that went into his creation. Despite his metallic form, Ironclad moves with surprising grace and fluidity, each step purposeful and deliberate.
His eyes, glowing orbs of light blue, radiate a sense of focus and determination. A faint hum emanates from within him, a reminder of his warforged nature. His armor is adorned with the symbol of Westruun, a testament to his dedication to the city.
In battle, Ironclad is a formidable foe. His movements are precise and calculated, his strikes powerful and efficient. He wields his weapons with expert skill, utilizing a combination of strength and strategy to overcome his enemies.
Off the battlefield, Ironclad is a stoic figure, often observing his surroundings with a keen eye. Despite his seemingly unfeeling nature, he is fiercely loyal to those he considers allies, and will stop at nothing to protect them.
Short backstory description: Ironclad was created in the aftermath of the devastation caused by the Chroma Conclave and Kevdak's rampage, during the city of Westruun's efforts to rebuild. Crafted by skilled artificers, he was designed for one purpose: to protect the city and its people from any future threats. Ironclad served faithfully as a guard in Westruun until the city's restoration brought it back to its former glory.
However, the recent theft of the city's treasury has shaken Ironclad's sense of purpose. Determined to uphold justice and protect the people of Westruun, he has joined Lord Mayor Lysandra Kallos's team of investigators to track down the thief and recover the stolen coin. With his unyielding resolve and combat prowess, Ironclad is ready to face any challenge in the pursuit of justice.

Age: 53

Character name: Zhiyu Zhe
Race: Stout Halfling
Class and subclass: Monk, Way of Shadow (I don't own the Tal'Dorei book)
Alignment: Neutral Good
Short backstory description.
One of the newer monks of the Cobalt Reserve, Zhiyu was assigned to this investigation by Expositor Cressida Holt, who believes that, while Zhiyu's infiltration abilities may not be fully in line with the upstanding mission of the Cobalt Soul, they may be of use in solving this particular mystery. Zhiyu is young and eager to prove himself to the Cobalt Soul, and show that he can fit into their organization and aid their search for and preservation of knowledge.
Your name/what you want to be called (pronouns): Michael (he/him/his)
Age: 30
Where you are from (Timezone): New Jersey (EST)
Your Dnd history: I've been playing D&D for about 4 years now. I've done a handful of PbP campaigns that have sadly fallen apart in one way or another. (I'm currently in one campaign centered in Exandria and am pretty versed in the world's lore.)
Character name: Riardon Wustant
Race: Wood Elf
Class and subclass: Path of the Beast Barbarian
Alignment: Undecided between True Neutral and Neutral Good
Short backstory description: Riardon was born the 2nd child of two wood elves. He hardly knew his mother who was secretly a healer of Sehanine; She died for her beliefs by cultists. Riardon was left with his older sister and father to live on the streets of Nicodranas. Left to fend for himself, Riardon built his strength so that he may help support his family through physical means, although he wished to someday go to school. Through his training and some spiritual guidance, Riardon learned of his drudic lineage through his mother's side and discovered he had shape-shifting abilities. After becoming an adult, Riardon took mercenary jobs and found himself working for the Cobalt Soul. Fascinated with the soul, and the soul accepting the elf through his strength and curiosity, Riardon has since worked with the soul for years now.
Sabyl and Sorghum, a litter of two, were born in an alley to broken parents and a broken life. Their father, a reticent drunkard and career gambler, lit out soon after their birth, leaving their haggard mother to raise both of them. Or she would've, had she not sold the pair to pay her man's gambling debts. Instead, the two would be raised by the Cordhia Lordship...
Better known as the Cordhia Crime Family. Sorghum was technically the oldest. Built like an orc with a disposition to match, she was trained from a young age to hone her physicality, serving the family as an enforcer and a guard. Sabyl, however, seemed to resemble his mother. Lithe of frame and sharp of wit, he was instead raised as a spy for the family, focusing his talents for deception, subterfuge and information acquisition. Depending on his mark, he is either the charismatic violist Sabyl or the mesmerizing dancing seductress Sabine.
Sorghum lives for the family, reveling in the violence and debauchery that her position affords. Sabyl, however, lives for his sister, whom he cares for dearly. Her disposition makes it difficult to tell her she's not actually good at her job, but Sabyl's service keeps that fact irrelevant. So long as he is good at his, she can go on thinking she's good at hers.
His most recent assignment has been to aid in the Treasury heist, as many of the Cordhia's "official" accounts are tied into it. It's absolutely paramount to the family that these funds be retrieved, which is why they've offered Sabyl his sister's permanent employment in the organization, as well as his own freedom. How could he refuse?
Your name/what you want to be called (pronouns): Semety (she/her)
Age: 30s

Your Dnd history: Some AD&D when I was a kid, 5e experiences is mostly solo campaigns/reading & watching. Currently DMing a short family campaign from the Wildemount book.
Character name: Veran
Race: Shadar-Kai
Class and subclass: Fighter 1/Warlock 2 (Celestial)
Alignment: Neutral Evil, but planned shift towards Good, with a Neutral (or Chaotic) Good patron
Short backstory description:
Veran was never the biggest or strongest Shadar-Kai. Bullied and belittled. They were the runt, the one left behind on scouting missions, the one mocked for their lack of strength. This constant humiliation fueled a burning desire within them for power.
Veran wouldn't be weak. They wouldn't be helpless. They devoured every scrap of combat training they could find, their strikes fueled by a cold fury. They fought with a ferocity that surprised even the most hardened warriors. They weren't just learning to fight; they were clawing their way to dominance. Kindness was a weakness, ruthlessness was the only path to survival.
One particularly brutal skirmish left Veran cornered and on the verge of defeat. Just as the final blow loomed, a blinding light erupted, momentarily stunning their attacker. When Veran opened their eyes, they saw a radiant figure, a Solar. The Solar, unlike anyone Veran had ever encountered, seemed to see something of worth in them.
The Solar offered Veran a pact, power, the opportunity for a better life outside the Shadows. And Veran agreed, binding themself to this celestial being as a Warlock.
Now, Veran walks Exandria, a vicious fighter bound to a radiant light. They retain their ruthless efficiency, but their patron's influence has been guiding them. A flicker of mercy, an act of kindness, these things are rewarded, and they're starting to realize that maybe there's power to be gained in something other than viciousness.
